I ordered takeout here after a Christmas party across the street and it was pretty good. Not the best Thai in the world, but certainly not the worst. The pad Thai was good, the wings were good, and the rolls were all good. The chicken in the pad Thai was a bit weird so I ate around it but other than that it was a good experience.

Our first time to Mountain Moose, and honestly, I would say this is a hidden gem! Aside from the incredibly sweet server who was more than accommodating to my allergies, The food was great. The thai iced tea was great, I had two myself and my boyfriend drank the entirety of his, the crispy spring rolls were fresh and a perfect appetizer before our main course designing our own ramen bowls. We both tried the Rice Vermicelli noodles with the Pho broth, and added on hard boiled eggs, edamame, braised beef and lime. Overall the flavors worked well together. We will definitely be back for the comforting vibes and delicious food!

This place was so unexpectedly good! We went in and the staff was really helpful and the restaurant was very clean and organized. Based on the menu and moose mascot we weren't too sure at first, but this place is amazing!! We ordered the house Moose soup, which has a curry base, beef, edamame, corn mushroom, boiled egg, and crisp dumplings. Best soup we've had in a while. Well balanced flavors. We also ordered the sesame balls which were fresh and crispy with a great sesame flavor. Lastly, we ordered crab rangoons which were the freshest and most well seasoned we've ever had. Great spot if you're ever in Newport!

We stopped here on a whim and were so happy with our experience! I love the self-serve method here, we ordered at the counter and helped ourselves to condiments and water. I loved that they had gluten free options marked because that's not always common with asian cuisine. The hostess was super kind and prices were reasonable for both ramen bowls and drinks. The restaurant was very clean and quiet! Our dishes were delicious and felt like a warm hug on a cold day. Highly recommend!

We were still mindful of the time and order pretty quickly. Our server helped us with the menu and told us what the popular dishes are when we had a hard to deciding. For drinks I got a refresher ~ refresher wasn't too outstanding but it helped with my spicy ramen~ my ramen so was savory and flavorful~ tasty, wasn't fatty or too oily. It had just good flavors that weren't too heavy but definitely filling and satisfying. My partners ramen was also very flavorful and tasty without the typical fatty, oily, tastes I usually get. We asked the server for the check since we need to leave soon after to make it on time for an event, and she gave us the check, and some to-go containers in case we needed it, which was very considerate! The appetizer were solid, good, but you MUST try the ramen. Spicy ramen was worth it if you need a good hangover soup or super chilly, or just want to sweat~ the egg and corn pieces were such soothing ingredients ~ Will be back for sure, even if the drive and parking is a hassle. Street parking is the way to go, and be ready for a walk~

Service was so so, not too attentive and a little pushy to get our party out while finishing drinks even though there was plenty of other seating available by that time. Bruschetta was fresh and light, great starter to the food. The carbonara was a little underwhelming for my taste, but a decent option. I normally enjoy the bolognese here and just wanted to try something different today.

I got here around 4 pm and the parking situation wasn't honestly an issue. The music isn't over powering and the overall layout makes it seem very homey. depending on where you sit you have a nice view of the kitchen where the chefs are diligently preparing the food. The starter bread is nice and dense with good flavor, it reminds me of a sour dough. The olive oil that comes standard at the table is robust and has a very nice flavor to it. I ordered the pasta bolognese, the taste and acidity of the sauce is pretty standard, a little on the acidic side but i tend to enjoy it like that. The house made pasta (or whichever kind of pasta is used) is well picked. The pasta picks up the sauce well and the mouthfeel is hard to beat; I want to attribute that to the house made aspect of it. I also got one of their seasonal cocktails called the paper plane which was refreshing. It was a little tart, definitely tastes of grape fruit with the lemon garnish also contributing to the taste. However I'm not sure how well it paired with pasta alla bolognese. To finish I got the crème brûlée. For me it's always a toss up between that and key lime pie every time so when a place offers both I usually have to flip a coin. For those who have had crème brûlée, it's overall a pretty simple dessert. The portion size was a huge plus for me. The sugar top had just a hint of burnt taste (obviously!) but you could really tell; and that is something I honestly don't mind. As for the crème it was nice, light, smooth with a hint of lemon I think. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I'm typically a solo diner but at least from what I saw they are capable of accommodating parties of about 10 so long as you call ahead first to let them know. I have to assume given the time of year it's "less packed" than normal because outdoor dining is pretty much not an option in march. This is my first time in the state of Rhode Island and subsequently the first time in Newport. I found them out through the Resy app, and decided to give it a shot. In all honestly because of the vibes, the food and the area, if you are ever in the area I would definitely try this spot out for some pretty good Italian. P.S I want to apologize for only posting the dessert, I'm just getting back into food posting. Sorry!

The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere inside and while small, even has outdoor seating. Drinks/apps: we always start off with Thai iced teas, these are a must. They are sweet but not overly so, and go very well with any dish you order. We also love the spring rolls, mango fresh rolls, and our favorite, the curry puffs. They are flakey and filled with sweet/savory vegetable flavors. Of course we also get the edamame because it's a nice little snack. Entrees: my current favorite is the malay noodle soup, it comes out steaming hot and is so creamy and filling. There is plenty of beef and wonderful steamed broccoli that soaks up the flavor of the soup. I also love the Rad Na, which is an assortment of steamed vegetables in a gravy-like curry. This one is perfect for colder months, since it really warms you up. My bf has gotten various curries and the vermicelli trio which he has enjoyed very much as well. Dessert: we haven't tried any dessert here because we end up getting so full from the other dishes! Each time we go I anticipate that I will need to be carried out, because I will probably go into a food coma. TL;DR: For those visiting Newport, do not pass up trying this place if you're not in the mood for the overwhelming amount of seafood restaurants located here. You can't really go wrong with any dish, make sure to get Thai iced teas and you will leave really full and happy :)
