The bikes were fully charged (can go 70 miles on 1 charge) and came with roomy saddle bags to hold all our stuff. In just under 4 hours we biked to all the trails and saw everything we wanted. It was a great experience all around. Communication was excellent from the first email I sent asking questions about the rental process to the delivery of the bikes to the pick up of the bikes. I could call the driver directly if we had any problems, which made me feel safe. We had a great time and ebikes and more made it easy for us to go on this ride.

He made some adjustments to the gears for my wife, and he helped me change the handle bars and seat to make mine more comfortable. The next day, my wife changed gears and the chain went into the spokes damaging the derailer. I took the bike back to him and he quickly put the bike up on the rack and said "we are going to make this right". I returned about a 1/2 hour later. He readily accepted responsibility, installed a new derailer on the bike, and tuned it up again. By the time we got here the facilities up front were closed so I have no idea what was available sans for restrooms and an outdoor shower. According to the website, shower and changing facilities are available, along with a food concession, chair & umbrella rentals, even a Mobi-Mat which allows wheelchairs to be pushed onto the beach (such a great idea). The sandy area is very wide and stretches for 3 miles with zero shady spots or trees. Lifeguards were gone for the day with their stands turned upside down. I noticed some vehicles actually parked on the beach near the northern end, a very cool perk that is not allowed back home. Ocean conditions were fairly calm but most folks were in waist-high water at most. OVERALL: Spacious real estate, but coming from Hawaii, my expectations are set too high, LOL.

I've gotten awesome service from them - whether it's booking a lesson last minute, or asking for a touring yak pre-seasons. Their little shop is adorable and in a perfectly serene location right on the bay. I can't tell you how much this counts for me - city docks and slips are just un-fun and their shop feels like my favorite put-in back home. They are both experienced paddlers and chatting with them is just like chatting with any of the sea kayakers in my paddle club. The Lil-Ass Bay (I'm sorry, I just can't help it) is also a great paddling spot ! With extremely limited boat traffic, and a refuge to it's north, kayaks can relax a bit and focus on observing the wildlife without having to keep their head on a pivot for speeding boaters and fishermen. These same reasons also make it a great place to take sailing lessons and let the wind carry you a bit. I have to admit that I've never actually paid attention to the prices ahead of time. You can tell when you're dealing with Jen, Mitch, or any of their helpers that they are going to be fair and reasonable. So I've always just gone out, come back when I wanted to, and paid and every single time I've been happily surprised at the price. Even the sailing lesson was more affordable than I expected. Paddling here is like paddling with a friend. Will definitely be back on this trip and many future ones. Quite side note about sailing, yes, they do have some rules about sailing as another review posted - not being able to jibe can be a little bit annoying sometimes when you really just want to run or reach down a bit, but it allows them to keep the sailing accessible and affordable to more people, which is important. This time I rented two double kayaks for 1 hour at $30 each or $60 total. I also rented one single kayak for one hour or $20. Our total cost was $80 for two doubles and one single kayak in total. This time we traveled south in the bay since the current was moving North. That made it easier for us to kayak back to the kayak base. We returned within one hour. I also purchased a Coastal Kayak hoodie for $40. We agreed we will return here again.

These guys were amazing…read more We were spending a few days at the beach with my teenage daughter and a couple of her friends. They wanted to rent bikes, and we were happy they were out and about. This place was conveniently located and offered great rates for the multi-day rental. They even had locks and helmets available. The real amazingness came at the end of the trip. The car was packed, and we were ready to go. The plan was for the girls to ride their bikes back to the shop, and we would pick them up there. However, as luck would have it, none of the girls could find the keys to the locks. We called the bike shop for suggestions. They said all we had to do was stop by their shop, pay an extremely reasonable fee, and they would handle picking the bikes up from there. It didn't bother them that the bikes were parked amongst hundreds of others at Sea Colony. I guess this kind of thing happens a lot. Long story short, we got going without losing time (because the girls didn't have to pedal to the bike shop), and Bethany Bike Shop earned our business from now on.
