    Oreo milk tea
    Rachel M.

I hadn't stopped by zzaam in quite awhile but I was in the area and wanted some boba. I had always had a good experience here, but something must have changed since the last time I was here. I ordered the taro milk tea which I've had and been happy with before but it just was not good. The milk tea was almost flavorless and had an odd aftertaste and the tapioca pearls tasted like plastic. With the other boba shops that have recently been added in the area, this will unfortunately not be on my list anymore.

    Taro Milk

Last year I loved going to Zzaam to get the taro slush during a hot summer day after work. Yesterday was my second time back this year and it was still watery. I didn't even taste the taro. I'm very disappointed that this keeps happening. I really use to love this place. Please make sure everyone is doing the measurements correctly the first time so customers won't have to ask you guys to remake it. The first image is the taro smoothie from last year and the second image is this year. You can see how it's watered down.

This is a lot smaller than the other locations. Ordering is quite easy. You just pick each step on the menu and then the toppings if you wanted a poke bowl or noodle. I saw that Zzaam had Korean chicken and it comes with 6, 8 or 16 pieces. I can pick between spicy and mild. I opted for spicy in 6 pieces and they told me the wait time is 15 minutes since they have to make it. Which is fine with me. The chicken itself was delicious and certainly looks the part. Plenty of meat on the bones, which was a delightful surprise since most places like this are light in the meat department. My only gripe was that having chosen the spicy option, it wasn't spicy at all. Tasty, but not spicy. I did get the Strawberry Black Tea. It was refreshing and perfect for the weather today. I notice that a lot of people came here more for their boba tea and drinks and I can see why since the drinks are good and customizable.

Since power is out due the storm today and I can't reheat my leftovers from yesterday, I chose to come to Zzaam on my way back from seeing my Dad. I have been wanting some Ramyun for about week now and I know this place always gets me right. Steamy vegetable Street ramen for the win!

Way too much food, took a lot home. The place was extremely pleasant & staff took time to explain, as we'd never had been there before. First time trying Korean food. It was fantastic ‼

Tiger milk tea and kokee milk tea

This review is for kokee tea inside zzaam. We got tiger milk tea and kokee milk tea and it seems like they didn't add any milk in it at all. I threw it away because it was just a cup loaded with sugar. I've never had bubble tea this sweet before. I came here with high expectations because of the kokee tea in carytown. I drove from richmond to try this location but I should've just stayed in richmond for a good bubble tea.

$13.99 less than a spoon of rice.

I really want to love this place but it has always been inconsistent with their food and service. I went there the first time about 1 1/2 yr ago and I thought their food was ok and the concept was pretty cool. The last time I went there was about 2 weeks ago and I will never go back. I ordered the beef bulgogi. We waited for the order to be completed and they never asked if I wanted the kimchi or wanted to substitute . I don't eat kimchi and I wished they have asked me what I wanted. The kicker is when I opened the cover and this is what I paid for $13.99. Some people don't even make $13.99/hr and this establishment wants to give you this. I am beyond shaking my head and I will not patron this place again.

Very good AMAZING WINGS. But plan to drop coin. It's not cheap. The front end turn over is like a revolving door.

Pretty good food, tried once, but our usual order is the boba tea and virgin margarita.

We swung through on a road trip. They were out of half their menu, clearly understaffed, and it was a long wait for not many customers.

It's so open, vibrant and aesthetically stunning. I love the self serve option for pastries with importance places on sanitary practices. Each customer grabs their own set of tongs to get pastries and provide to staff upon checkout. I love their dedication to high quality cleanliness and sanitation standards. A definite plus! There are so many pastry options both sweet and savory. The presentation of treats is immaculate. It makes you want to try everything. I had to stop myself, haha! I ordered the Boba Brown Sugar Matcha (cold) with almond milk substitute due to lactose intolerance. It was very delicious, especially the brown sugar boba pearls. The cup is so cute and you can tell so much thought was placed in having high quality products. Im saving this cup for alternative use at home. I also had the ube bun however I didn't like it. It wasn't as sweet as I had hoped and the texture inside wasn't pleasant to me. The ube filling was chunky and kinda broke apart. I wouldn't order that again but would love to try other treat options. Staff were really nice and patient. Service was quick and efficient. Pricing is reasonable in my opinion for the quality and presentation. Highly recommended and I will be back soon!

Calming spot to grab a treat, get some work done/journal, or catch up with friends in an aesthetic and modern cafe. Ordered the paradise tea with mango and avocado. I loved the textures and layers of flavors. The drink was filling and lasted me a while, not watery but refreshing. The mango tasted fresh and avocado creamy. I haven't tried the pastries at this location, but have at their other Richmond cafe. Great cakes and buns made fresh in-house. Easy to find parking at the lot outside. Service is pretty quick.

That employee also completely ignored me, despite the fact that I was clearly standing there waiting to be helped. I was there to pick up a DoorDash order for someone else, but based on the way I was treated, I can guarantee you I will not be choosing to spend my own money at this establishment. I ultimately had to ask another customer who was standing in line if they knew where to pick up a DoorDash order. The entire experience was incredibly dismissive and unprofessional. A simple acknowledgment or, at the very least, "We'll be with you in a moment" would have made a huge difference.
