4 stars because there is only ever 2 employees. No matter if I walk in or doordash/grubhub it's never ready on time. Otherwise we love Zzaam and their ramen. It's really enough for 2 people and has is seasoned well, kinda spicy even when we choose mild but overall delicious. Even the doordash deliveries arrive STEAAAMING HOT! So happy I found this spot while running errands! I've been twice in the past two weeks. I'll start with the food. Usually when I'm running errands I forget to eat and need to grab a quick bite. I decided to order a kids bowl. First time I got a noodle bowl with broth. Kids bowl?! This thing was plenty for my lunch. I got noodles, broth, edamame, and other veggies. Yum! Second time I got the noodles without broth. Both were yummy! The one without broth was a bit smaller, but easier to eat on the go. I also got steamed dumplings. Dough was a bit thin for my preference, but dipping sauce was yummy. Now for the tea. The pictures online looked incredible for their brown sugar boba house tea. The first time was good, but not outstanding so I tried to give it another shot. Second time wasn't too flavorful either. Tasted mostly like milk with boba at the bottom. Very different from what I've had at other businesses in terms of milk tea. I'll be trying a fruit t a series next time. read more

Delicious surprise right near the movie theater. Hot delicious and fresh food with exemplary service. The gentleman cared so much about making my dad's dinner low sodium and helping us have a great dinner, it was quite an experience. I hadn't stopped by zzaam in quite awhile but I was in the area and wanted some boba. I had always had a good experience here, but something must have changed since the last time I was here. I ordered the taro milk tea which I've had and been happy with before but it just was not good. The milk tea was almost flavorless and had an odd aftertaste and the tapioca pearls tasted like plastic. With the other boba shops that have recently been added in the area, this will unfortunately not be on my list anymore. read more

Last year I loved going to Zzaam to get the taro slush during a hot summer day after work. Yesterday was my second time back this year and it was still watery. I didn't even taste the taro. I'm very disappointed that this keeps happening. I really use to love this place. Please make sure everyone is doing the measurements correctly the first time so customers won't have to ask you guys to remake it. This is a lot smaller than the other locations. Ordering is quite easy. You just pick each step on the menu and then the toppings if you wanted a poke bowl or noodle. I saw that Zzaam had Korean chicken and it comes with 6, 8 or 16 pieces. I can pick between spicy and mild. I opted for spicy in 6 pieces and they told me the wait time is 15 minutes since they have to make it. Which is fine with me. The chicken itself was delicious and certainly looks the part. Plenty of meat on the bones, which was a delightful surprise since most places like this are light in the meat department. My only gripe was that having chosen the spicy option, it wasn't spicy at all. Tasty, but not spicy. I did get the Strawberry Black Tea. It was refreshing and perfect for the weather today. I notice that a lot of people came here more for their boba tea and drinks and I can see why since the drinks are good and customizable. read more

Really good fast food with a Korean flair. It's great to get on the run, and this is a convenient location during a Target or Michael's run. My go-to is the Zzaam bowl salad. They have good toppings and sauces, and it's great if you are into meals-in-a-bowl, like I am. The veg is always fresh. My child is not a fan of their boba beverages because they are very sweet, so take that into consideration when ordering. I haven't exhausted the menu because I keep coming back for the bowl, but friends dining with me enjoy their orders, and everything looks great. Zzaam is my preferred fast food stop, and this location is a nice one. read more

Terrible customer service and mediocre food. Ordered for curb pickup and nothing after 5 minutes past the time the website said the food would be ready. I went in to check and was told I needed to call when I arrived thought the website Does Not say that. Zzaam is my husband's favorite restaurant for when we come visit the Richmond area. The light, fresh, but still filling meals hit the spot. There's usually a little wait when we come in, but the staff are sure to make it go as quick as possible. The seating options aren't great so we usually order to-go. It's not too loud inside though which is great! And unfortunately the last time I went my ramen was undercooked, but the flavor was still delicious. read more

This... Is not a place to come if you like Korean food, I mean real Korean food. I was very much hoping to get decent pork bulgogi, or maybe something else a little spicy, a little sweet, very savory. What I got was honestly sad, too sweet, no spice, over soggy lettuce. It was edible. Even the bubble tea was watered down and still somehow too sweet. Didn't complain, because I'm not going to harass food service workers, but it's really not worth the money and I'm honestly disappointed. Man, things have changed. We've been a few times and these are things noticed: the kimchee has no flavor. :( The veggie and meat portions have diminished in size. The prices have understandably risen. My beef (WHERE'S THE BEEF) is price not being reflected in serving size or service. This last trip, we ordered online and scheduled a pickup time. We got there 10 mins later than pickup. When hubby asked when the food would be ready, the guy straight up laughed. They didn't appear overly busy? Not sure I'll be back. read more

When I come to this spot, I can for the tea!!! The food here is not the best and certainly not exactly he most authentic Korean food. There's other spots in the area that will hit the nail on the head in terms of authenticity and taste. As someone who's had a Korean mom cook for me, it's usually hard to find food that even compares to hers. I've tried the spicy pork & kimchi here and i didn't even finish because it really was not appealing and the taste was just not it for me. However, in hopes of not making this review too negative I want to rave about their bubble tea or boba tea. I usually get either the taro smoothie with boba or the brown sugar milk tea that comes with boba as well. I usually ask for less sugar but I'm never really disappointed at the taste of the smoothies. They cost around $7 and the size is decent. Enough to satiate your appetite or sweet tooth. read more

This review is for kokee tea inside zzaam. We got tiger milk tea and kokee milk tea and it seems like they didn't add any milk in it at all. I threw it away because it was just a cup loaded with sugar. I've never had bubble tea this sweet before. I came here with high expectations because of the kokee tea in carytown. I really want to love this place but it has always been inconsistent with their food and service. I went there the first time about 1 1/2 yr ago and I thought their food was ok and the concept was pretty cool. The last time I went there was about 2 weeks ago and I will never go back. I ordered the beef bulgogi. We waited for the order to be completed and they never asked if I wanted the kimchi or wanted to substitute . I don't eat kimchi and I wished they have asked me what I wanted. The kicker is when I opened the cover and this is what I paid for $13.99. I paid extra for double meat tonight for the spicy ramen.....this was all of the meat I received in my soup....but this is normal for them. The selling point for me was the boba teas, but definitely would not call there Thai Tea Classic or Authentic, the flavor for me was not there, same goes for the Taro Tea (Purple Love) that was a bummer. The street ramen was ok, it tasted like Ramen out of the packet, with thrown in veggies they were missing a couple ingredients like a soft boiled egg for Ramen, don't think the egg would have helped the taste but still. As for there service, for the amount of staff they had, they seemed to be unorganized and a little chaotic. The best must tried are there Gochujang BBQ wings so tasty and yummy! Walking into Zzaam! I was impressed by the openness and cleanliness of the place. The menu was almost too extensive; it was difficult to choose! I finally settled on a noodle bowl with pork belly and with the first bite I was transported. I have NEVER had such tender pork belly in my life. I wish I could buy it by the pound. I am a Zzaam fan. My go-to lunch is a brown rice bowl with spicy pork topped with carrot, edamame, onion, corn, black beans, pickled radish, zzaam sauce, sesame oil and sesame seed. Man. I was so disappointed. I stopped by here several time before covid and was impressed with the changes they were planning on bringing. We just went and ordered a family meal and I have to say.... Won't be back quite unfortunately. The portions are out of control.... A couple bowls had good portions and the other two was at about the half line. The kimchee was not made well nor properly, using unripened cabbage. There weren't any utensils or napkins and we had to scrounge for utensils. When did takeout translate to no utensils? The couple things I was impressed with were the broth and the fried egg. They were both done well. For a price $11, I can get better food for just a couple dollars more. Well I have eaten here maybe 4x and was pleased. Ordered the Chicken and rice bowl last night with black beans, zucchini, Pickled radishes, sprouts and corn l. Woke up at 2am and on the toilet till 3am in pain and well you know and wanted to vomit. My body wanted it out! Could be the chicken not kept at proper temp or could be the veggies contaminated l. I ordered chicken ramen with extra protein and not only did it not have extra protein.... It didn't contain any protein. The other chicken ramen in the order also was lacking the chicken. The service here was terrible. Our pickup order was set to be ready at 1:23 pm. We arrived at 1:25 and waited another 20 minutes for the order to be fulfilled while those who were walk-ins were being served right away. So all together this was a 45 minute wait from the time we put our order in to the time it was received. For the cost and the time it took, have a nice lunch out to eat at a sit down restaurant would have been more enjoyable. read more

This is a great place to come and get a good bowl of ramen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The ramen is good for the winter time cold/sinus issues. The broth is great even in its mild form. Everything is a perfect balance when it comes to the food. Also try the tacos they are very good. The kimchi reminds me of what I would taste when I was stationed in Korea.
