I ordered 2 quart sizes of fried rice as the description of the side of fried rice states "crispy fried rice mixed with scrambled eggs and vegetables". To my surprise there was absolutely no eggs or vegetables in this. Just straight up white rice that's been fried in the sauce they use to make fried rice. I called to ask them about why there wasn't any vegetables or egg and the lady stated "you got a side of fried rice, there's nothing that goes in it". I told her that on their website where I placed my order the description states that the rice comes with eggs and vegetables. She reiterates that it doesn't come with it. I then reiterate that the website states it does. She says "ok well I'll let them know". She wasn't rude during this call. But instead of apologizing for their false advertisement she felt the need to repeat that the rice would be plain with nothing in it. Had I known the rice came without eggs and veggies as it stated, I would have definitely ordered a different rice option. Now I know for next time not to make that mistake again. Decent local Chinese food spot. It's nothing special but it's a solid place for basic Chinese food. There chicken fried rice is good, same with there beef lo mein and egg rolls. A little on the bland side but still pretty good. We recently ordered a large variety from them and the only dish I didn't like was there chow mein. It came in a plastic to go container, about half of the container was white rice. But the chow mein itself was almost all onions, we had maybe 3 pea pods and only 4 or 5 pieces of celery in it. The whole family was still hustling, doing a brisk takeout and delivery business. You can eat in if you want - small, no frills, nothing fancy. They're obviously setup to crank out takeout & delivery orders. I'm used to these places ordering by menu number only. When I ordered a #80 (spicy beef), I thought it was pretty funny that they had to lookup it up. Usually, they insist on the number instead of the description. We just moved to Coon Rapids from St. Cloud and went about the business of finding our favorite Asian food delivery place. My husband stumbled across this restaurant on one of his trips around town and was pleasantly surprised. We have since ordered weekly delivery or take-out. I love their Lo Mein options and my husband loves the Chicken & Broccoli. I'm impressed with their meat. The chicken was flavorful and nicely sauced without being slimy. I have frequented this establishment dozens of times over the past several years and I very much TRIED to give it my support, but tonight's supper is the end of my patronage. On the very best days this place is the typical American Chinese restaurant. That's on the very best days.... But more commonly, it is not a very good typical American Chinese restaurant because the quality control is completely inconsistent. Tonight was no different. My meal was exceptionally bad. We placed our order online at 8:17. It was delivered to our home (after two 2! phone calls) around 9:30 PM. My sweet and sour pork happy meal was cold and soggy to the point of being rubbery and the egg roll tasted terrible. Honestly, I actually spit it out into the garbage. The fried rice was greasy AND clumping together. In a word: nasty. But here's the weird part: My wife had shrimp lo mein with cheese wantons. It was fine... she liked it. My meal was awful and hers was fine. GAH! So frustrating! Some of the worst Chinese I have ever had. My husband ordered honey chicken and there was no sauce at all and only salt. It was inedible. My father in law had sweet and sour pork and there was so much breading you could barely find the pork. I tried one piece and it was only breading. My Singapore noodles had no flavor. Everything we received looks & tastes amazing and is fresh. It was delivered very quickly, and is very hot. The crab Rangoon is clearly homemade and not frozen. It also looks like their wontons are also homemade. Portions are great for 2 people. Wish there was a little more sauce on our orange chicken... but that's because we are sauce people. Andover went a long time without any Chinese options. Now they have a few, but Wok 88 is my top choice. I feel like we end up getting Chinese take-out at least once every time I'm in town (my mom lives in Andover). Wok 88 has delivery - which is a nice perk. The delivery driver is SO nice and arrives fairly quickly. Another huge plus is the vegetarian options on the menu. There are plenty of tofu-and-veggie-filled options, which makes me a happy camper. I've ordered from here maybe two or three times before and it was "ok" for this area due to the choices being slim to none. Tonight I ordered the Happy Meal H18 with a substitution of VEGETABLE Fried Rice and it was delivered with Shrimp Fried rice. My receipt also reflected shrimp. I politely called them to let them know that I had NOT ordered Shrimp Fried rice and that I don't even eat shrimp. The guy that answered the phone said he had to wait for the delivery man to come back to "verify" what i said. Long story short, he called back & said that I had ordered shrimp so since it was my fault they could offer me a Free meal next time. I declined and let them know I didn't appreciate them saying I ordered something that I HAD NOT. I NEVER EAT SHRIMP!! He then said he could bring me my correct order but I would need to provided them with the food I had with me still in the bag, as well as a little time to take care of previous orders made prior to my mishap - I agreed. 10 minutes later I realized it was 8 pm and I'm in a stage of not eating after 8pm. So I called them back, told them once again that I didn't appreciate them saying I ordered something that I HAD NOT & that I would not be able to enjoy my meal since it was after 8pm and I also let them know I was going straight to Yelp for my review. What is the deal with this place and celery? I had shrimp and pea pods. There were five shrimp, eight pea pods and what must have been a half pound of celery. Wife had Moo Goo Gai Pan which contained as the main ingredient, you guessed it, celery. Do they have relatives that grow the stuff? The other thing was just the blandness of flavor. While my friend and I have been coming here for a while now with mixed reviews, today the two older women chefs out did themselves, that was the best egg roll I have ever had!! If there were a way to do 3.5 stars, they'd get the extra 1/2 star. Just not quite enough for 4 whole stars. It's located in a strip mall off Bunker Lake Boulevard. To be honest, I can see it being fairly easy to overlook as I did for the first few years they were there. The key draw to me was, they deliver. And the driver has always been timely, extremely polite and seemed genuinely nice. They have all the regular standard fare of 99% any other Chinese take out place. But, 88 Wok is more hit than miss. The things I've had that I liked, I loved. The things I ordered that were mediocre, were pretty damned 'bleh'. I'll do a quick list of items I've had. The fried shrimp were middle of the road. Not horrible, but didn't stick out. Fried dumplings are good. The house special fried rice (lots of veggies & meat) is generally very good (although I have found another place locally that tops it). The Singapore mai fan is good. Although it seems with mai fan, it's really hard to screw up since it's been virtually identical every place I've ever had it. The pork egg foo young at 88 Wok is the best I've had. The texture, gravy and flavor are outstanding. Chicken with curry, Mongolian beef and Szechuan beef are all very good. The Hunan beef, roast pork w/ garlic are both middle of the road and somewhat bland. The pan fried noodles were virtually tasteless. It even looked flavorless. With the exception of the broccoli, the noodles and chicken were almost a stark white. Like they actually sucked the flavor out of it intentionally. Overall, for your run of the mill local Chinese take out, 88 Wok is definitely better than average. And the delivery is a nice bonus in the suburbs. read more

The two best dishes I've had are the pork fried rice (very not-greasy and with actual visible pork chunks) and the pan fried dumplings (filling of actual meat). The chicken in their fried rice is an incredibly odd texture and rubbery. The pork resembles something closer to "mystery meat" that one would see in their elementary school lunch line. Again, this place used to be good, so it's disappointing that it's gone downhill the last few times we've ordered from there. You can tell a lot about a Chinese restaurant if you look at their rice and Wonton soup. The Wonton soup broth here was excellent. Their rice is steamy and moist, not the usual dry kind you find at other place. There aren't a ton of decent Chinese places North of the twin cities, but this one has hit the spot every time. read more
