Service could use some work - didn't ask for name or number when wife ordered and since I was picking up for my wife I didn't know exactly what was ordered which was the only way for the lady to identify my order. I was not a fan of the spicy wings, as I think the sauce takes away the crispness of the wings. The service is very fast, as it takes about 10 minutes to get a tray ready, but we aware that they no longer has indoor seating, as far as I know. My husband and I had never had their food before. He got the combination dinner of chicken chow mien, fried rice and egg roll. I had the sesame chicken. We have never had such bad Chinese in our lives. We couldn't eat it. He said something was not right with the sauce and chicken for the chow mien, egg roll very dry, fried rice yucky. Food was ok. It def had a greasy oily taste to it. I didn't enjoy that at all. Remained in my mouth even after rinsing. I hate thin noodles and that's what what served in their lo mein. Chicken pieces where somewhat interesting. Didn't taste like chicken but weren't gross. Fried rice was greasy. Didn't taste too bad but I honestly can't say I loved it. As you walk in, you can see it's filthy. But my inner piggy just had to taste it. Restaurant didn't look the cleanest either. Organized but not clean. Yin Yang is a solid Chinese restaurant. I've only ever gotten takeout so I can't speak to the sit down experience but I've never had an issue with my order! My favorite thing on the menu is the sesame chicken combo (#6) with an eggroll and a side of the dumplings. Their wontons are meh, I would skip them and get the dumplings or wings instead. I'm at a tie between this being my favorite Chinese restaurant or south China inn. You yang has really really good food. Every single food I've tried from here has always been excellent. They are usually pretty fast with your order too. You can also sit down and dime if you'd like, but we just get take out. The same people are always working and they are very pleasant to be around. I've been coming her for a year because they were recommended to me by my uncle and he's been coming here for 6 + years and neither one of us has ever had a bad experience. Was very disappointed. Waitress was rude and the food was bad. I ordered chicken in garlic sauce. I could only swallow one scoop as it tasted like pure oil! No sauce. And I can usually eat anything! Also waitress brought spicy wings when we asked for fried and forced us to keep them. My kid didn't like the beef and broccoli either as it had an overly oil taste too and the meat tasted weird too. Walked in and it was empty and ordered the shrimp fried rice and cheese puffs, its not the cleanest place ( I lived in MPLS and found even the not so cleanest places actually have really good food ) and had empty boxes stacked up in the corner. but my order was done in like 10 minutes. I know all places make fried rice different and add different things... the fried rice was alright, the shrimp were big and the taste was fine but didn't like the carrots and peas and missed green onions. The cheese puffs could have been fried longer. The price wasn't bad. Not sure id get the fried rice again but might wanna try the wings because some ppl say they are good. I've eaten a lot of Chinese resutrants, but by far this place is the worst. My girl friend and I order dinner combination seaseme chicken, tso chicken and fried rice with a egg roll to go. From the MAPLEWOOD location ON white bear avenue. Get it home still hot took one bite of everything it all tasted like burnt food. The tso and seaseme chicken are the same they just play people and add seame seeds to it. I called to complain told them everything tastes burnt and I'm on to them and I wanna bring my food back and recive a refund the lady with short hair told me no refund cause I paid already and hung up. Great lunch specials that even run on weekends! We love their Sesame Chicken and their Egg Rolls. We never order the soda since it's in cans, we get tea instead, so lunch never runs us more than if we ate at a fast food place, and you get more than enough food. I called to placed an order for my workplace in which we are tax exempt and he refused to give me that. He told me that everyone pays tax, I explained that we are an Education in which we do not pay tax and he refused and said everyone pays tax and that their restaurant doesn't do tax exempt. OMG...I have no idea what the heck they were eating, but the crapola that was served at Yin Yang Chinese Restaurant in Maplewood MN was by far some of the worse Chinese food I have eaten in a long time. Both people there spoke no English except for "You Ready Order?" "Coke or Pepsi?" and "You want box?" sorry...they knew "Thank you" too. They should be thanking me, for blowing $40 on CRAPOLA there. My purse is still mad at me for getting my wallet out. I ordered the salted spare ribs because the review on the other site sounded like they would be superb. HELLO...they were deep fried pork fat. I told Mrs. Yang when she stopped over to ask "You want box?" that they were terrible.
