Shanghai Chan Chinese Restaurant would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that they got my order wrong. I order the house lo mein and when I opened up my bag, I realized they gave me the house fried rice ($5.75). I never like to waste food and go back to correct an order, so I just ate it all up. The fried rice tasted great, but there wasn't very much meat in it at all...so much for the "house" part. I also order a small egg drop soup ($2.50) and that was just what I needed on a chilly evening. The place was small, but clean. I also thought it was an awesome "daughter/father" duo dynamic in the restaurant. The daughter taking the orders and the father making the food in the back. I was here recently, and it is a place I would definitely go back to. Even though it is only open for take-out they are so worth it. From when I placed my order to getting my food took like 12 minutes, but I enjoyed my experience. Not only was the lady really friendly, and carefree, but the food was definitely filling. My wife and I stopped in for a quick snack. We had chicken wings which were average, and had the shrimp toast which was REALLY good. I would totally hit this place up just for that item. This place was quick with a pick up order for quite a few things. The food is really good, we ordered the large shrimp and fried pork fried rice which is a lot, you could get about 4 meals from the one large size as it comes in large or small. The lo mein noodles are kind of thick, but delicious. The wontons are kind of small and burnt but crunchy. They gave us complimentary sweet sugar biscuits which was really cool! They taste like donuts wrapped in sugar, they're pretty fulfilling. It was cool to be able to try those and I would order here again. We go here so often the staff knows us and our food preferences. This is Chan's Chinese Restaurant, I'm guessing the registered name is different than what you see. This place is great for take out Chinese. I've never had something I didn't like from here. Won tons, pot stickers, General Tso's chicken, Shrimp & Noodles, etc. Appears to be a family run business with the family still doing all the work. There are maybe 6 tables inside, which are good for waiting for your food to be done. High quality consistent food. You can't really go wrong. read more

Nice, Clean restaurant - the staff is always friendly and the food is cooked to Order - so don't expect it to be cold or sitting around as soon as you order. The chef seems like he has been professionally trained and I think that this is one of the best in the area. I have tried most of the items on the menu and couldn't say there have been any disappointments. If you are looking for value - try the lunch menu and yes, be sure to try the shrimp toast. Ordered via doordash and after 14 minutes, we received a note saying our order was cancelled because they weren't taking more orders. They were open for an hour after we ordered! ***DO NOT EAT HERE***** They deserve to have no stars with the way that they treat their customers!!!!!!!! I ordered here once and will NEVER return!!!!!!!!!! I ordered food for myself and two of my co workers (one who's birthday it is) and when I arrived back to work from my lunch break, we tried eating our food...only to find out the rice was old, burnt, and dry tasting, the orange chicken was very dry, overcooked, or seemed to have been reheated, the egg foo young tasted like old nasty cooking grease and the veggies inside definitely were not fresh. I contacted them after we all discussed the food was not good for the price we paid. They could not understand English well so I informed them I would return once I got off work. I decided to take my 30 minute lunch break to go and take the food back because I wanted to purchase something some where else. When I walked in I let them know again I was not pleased with the food and would like to have my money back. They laughed in my face and argued that my co worker ate her 2-4 shrimp out of her orange chicken combo and I said I shouldn't have ate any of it if I wanted my money back. He continued stating they never had a complaint and they've been there more than 10 years. The man decided to slam his hand on the counter still yelling that I needed to leave. The wife called the police and I patiently waited for them to do nothing but tell me to write a review since the man and wife declined to give me my money back. I am furious and this is very unacceptable!! Do not eat here!!!! Your typical fast food, low operating cost, Chinese place. Friendly staff, but the oil needs changing BADLY. Nasty aftertaste on all the fried foods. Call ahead....it takes much longer than other Chinese places for take out. And this was with an empty dining room, and just 4 people waiting on orders. Not a good sign. Disgust, very disappointed as a first time customer. I ordered over the phone, came in and thought order was ready. Paid the lady, grabbed a paper menu and sat down. I caught the older man cook in plain sight- with a noodle hanging out of his mouth and he bit it and it fell into a bowl/ take out dish. We had ordered chow fun and this noodle looked like chow fun. I saw the cashier and lady speaking in another language right in front of me and they giggled and were looking right at me. I walked out of store. I couldn't even confront them. I called the bank to get refund but they said I have to call restaurant and tell them I need a refund. I told her what I saw the cook do and she replies that he was eating dinner!
