Horrible billing problems with Horizon Dental office. I was overcharged on one occasion. I was also billed for a filling that began falling out within two weeks. It had to be redone at another dentist's office because I was out-of-state. I've been trying to get both refunds for a year. The office manager keeps telling me she's working on it and tells me she will call me each time I speak with her, yet she does not call me as promised nor does she return calls when I leave messages with others in the office. Use this office at your own risk! If you are already using this office, make sure you compare your co-pays with your insurance benefits statement. What a headache! read more

I really like Dr. Reid but their front desk. Staff sucks and they are so rude. I was told one price by the hygienist and another price by the front desk. It took me 45 minutes to get seen and they are very rude. read more

Dr. does not follow the American Dental Association's recommendation limiting x-rays only for conditions identified after a clinical exam. When we requested no x-ray for our normal yearly exam we were told that we had to have them. Since that requirement was not acceptable to us we canceled our appointment and they decided to charge us for canceling. Beware this does not seem to be avery ethical practice. read more

Do not trust this dental practice. My wife and I first visited Horizon Dental in the spring of 2025 because one of their dentists was a friend of my son, who is also a dentist. Prior to our first visits for cleanings, we provided our insurance info and were not informed that we were out of network. While I should have checked this, the office should have told us this as well. We both had cleanings (twice) and paid over $300 each time and still were not told it was because of the out of network status, I found out after reaching out to my insurance company. After I contacted Horizon Dental, I was told that they would honor the in network costs of my plan and would look into fixing my account because for whatever reason I was suddenly getting emails stating I owed them money, when in fact, they still had not refunded the amount we paid out of pocket, when they said they would honor in network. I spoke with Danielle at that office, she gave me her email address and told me to email if I did not hear back from her in a week. I emailed many times over several months and she did not respond, or call me back when I would call the office asking to speak with her. We have since followed the original dentist to his new practice and several of his staff are former Horizon employees who followed him. Not surprisingly, they said several other Horizon patients have left too and are having similar trouble resolving issues. Apparently Horizon is now part of a corporate practice and they said it has gone downhill since, which is why they all left. They went out of their way to contact someone they knew at Horizon as well to try and help me and even gave me the personal cell phone number for Dr. Reed, who still works at Horizon. I did not want to resort to that, but out of desperation, sent a friendly text message asking for help in fixing this. At that time, I got a call from Jackie at Horizon in response to my text. She was very nice and said she would help, however, this was probably in October/November, and now has currently not called me back (it is now January) after promising to, and saying she needed to speak with Danielle (the one who ghosted me since last summer). Needless to say, it has been a nightmare of an experience. I have been patient and tried to remain friendly because I know it is not the people's fault who I have spoken with, but the utter lack of action and contact is unacceptable for a professional dental office. I have always had a positive experience here up until recently. I went in for a routine cleaning - I was well past due for it as I had a baby last summer. I went in, did updated x rays and my cleaning. I was told I had a cavity in a tooth that had previously been filled and would need to be filled again. I was informed of this by Dr. Reed. At the time of scheduling for the filling, the staff offered Dr. Sam to do the filling. I said okay sure, it's just a filling. When I came in for my filling, Dr. Sam pressured me into getting a crown rather than a filling. He stated that there wasn't a lot of natural tooth as the previous filling was large and that he "could do the filling but I would need a crown soon after". Rather than waste the money for the filling I decided to get the crown instead. I pay out of pocket for my dental procedures so this was over $1K for this crown. The three weeks with my temp come and go and on the day of my appointment to get my permanent, I get a call that they have not received the mold for the permanent and reschedule me for the following week. A few hours later I get another call saying that the mold would be in BEFORE my newly scheduled date and that they would "just call me to come in" instead. TWO more WEEKS have passed and I still do not have my permanent. I have had my temporary for five weeks now, going on six. When I called to follow up I was told I would get a call about the status of what is going on and never did. I already feel like I was pressured into an unnecessary dental procedure and now I'm stuck with this temporary well past when it should've been taken care of! If I ever get my permanent, that will be the last time I go to Horizon. No wonder people find dentists to be scammers!!! read more

I would not recommend Horizon Dental in Prescott Valley. in February of 2024 I went in to have a tooth crowned. The office staff quoted a price of near $1,000. The tooth was painful so I paid the price. Today I went in for a routine cleaning and was told that I had a credit. I went through cleaning process then waited to see the dentist. I had every intention of inquiring about the credit. After waiting 20 minutes without seeing the dentist I went to the front desk to inquire about the credit. it so happens that my insurance paid more then I was told they would. So Horizon Dental has been holding $899 of my hard earned money without refunding me. For 7 months they have had $899 of my money. I waited another 10 minutes for the dentist and chose to give up waiting. A refund request was submitted and I was told the refunds are made once a month. I will say that the staff is friendly. This kind of oversight? or just plain poor business practice? I don't know. The staff knew the issue and knew that I would not be back. Yet, I did not receive a call from the dentist apologizing. be wary of this business. read more

Multiple times, including today, I was seen close to an HOUR past my appointment time. This is not acceptable. It's disrespect of patient schedules. The dental hygienist is good, the dentists are good. The office is kind and professional. Buuuuut. If you work and only have a certain amount of time to be seen, do not choose this office. read more

Nov 15 2024 ..... Horizon Dental removed all my teeth. Promised I would leave on this day being a new man with beautiful smile ... First lie .... As teeth failed and eventually were re-made twice. Popped out (embarrassment) at multiple local restaurants. Then Christi, their denturist, stated dentures will never seat correctly in my mouth, always moving and loose, continuous popping out, and Horizon Dental's plan turned out as a complete failure.. TODAY, February 18, 2025, my wife Paula and myself arrived at 10:54 am for a 11 am appointment with the owner. He refused to meet with us. Their clock was now at 12:30 pm, instead owner, Dr. Reed, taking other clients, talking about his/and wife's vacation in other room, and so we were forced to leave. Disgraceful and disgusting 90 min. ignore us treatment. To today's date: NO teeth .... now for over 3 months, ALL my food must be grinded in our blender in order to eat at all and also I am left with altered speech (NO teeth). NEVER a smile....RECOMMEND to all veteran's, disabled citizens, senior citizens, as is my age/place in life group, Please, NEVER go to Horizon Dental of Prescott Valley. read more

I have been coming to Horizon Dental Group in Prescott Valley for the 4 years I have lived in Arizona. I couldn't be happier! What I did was: I actually walked into about four dental offices in my area, that my Insurance covered and asked for a business card and said hello. As you probably know...Just by walking in an office and dealing with the front desk gives you that 1st Impression. When I walked into Horizon Dental Group in Prescot Valley, I knew right away with the warm, friendly welcome that this was the one for me ! Each and everyone of the employees treat me like Family and I've never been so comfortable! I actually look forward to coming to my 6 month cleaning & fluoride appt. that include x-rays and photos of my teeth Then Dr. Reed or Dr.Reeder will come in to say Hello & are Both So Pleasant, Cheerful & Knowledgeable. If I have any questions they are happy to answer them. Everyone is so nice & takes their time! No one in the office ever acts rushed...they take their time and act like I'm the Only Patient There! I feel Pretty Special, Each and Every time...they really do treat me like Family! Everyone is so sweet they are aware of my fibromyalgia and I love the hygienist: Denise who is Very Familiar with how gentle to be when cleaning my teeth. We were so happy to have found a wonderful dental office so close by We had moved to Prescott Valley just eight months ago and have neglected semi annual cleanings and checkups. So when each of us lost a filling we searched online and found Horizon Dental, called and got appointments for both of us in a matter of several days.
