This place is a must! An easy walk from the beach and very cool on a hot day. Family friendly, and awesome atmosphere. Very friendly staff, they begin serving sushi at 4 pm, but they open at 9 am. A lot of people left when they found out they weren't making sushi at that time, but they missed out on some great food. We ordered for pick-up. The food was ok, though the salmon skin in the Crazy Roll was so hard & dry that the pieces broke apart. However, let's talk atmosphere for a moment. The electronica music was blasting; the disco ball lights were flashing in the eyes of the people sitting at tables. This is a little store front place, maybe 10 tables, not a night club. Really not conducive to a relaxing meal. And boxes of supplies were stacked up by the front entrance - very unattractive. If you have no place to store these boxes, at least hide them behind a folding screen. read more

Ambiance is nice if you can sit outside, inside is small, dark and like a club with disco lights. The pad Thai was ok. We went there for sushi and were disappointed. The spicy tuna was not good- the roll was the size of a dime and there was barely any tuna in there and the spicy sauce was not good- not worth the $7. Then we got 2 of the "speciality rolls"- they were the size of a quarter with again barely any fish and definitely not worth $13 each. We are from DC and used to paying the same amount for double the size. Would not eat here again. Staff was friendly but not overly attentive. read more

I hate to do this because food wise. The food is delicious and I have eaten there several occasions. I am a flight attendant so I have tried many sushi places around the world and I do love this location and food. However I was completely shocked this evening by the service. Rude!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't say it enough! Her exact words to me was "oh my god.... I have told you 3 or 4 times.... " when I simply asked for 2 vegetable roles with my noodles and she brought it out with my husband's shrimp tempura on his plate. She tried to tell me it's al a carte. I have waitresses first class, business class oh and guess what, in al a carte restaurants over the world for 20 years. Look up the definition before you try to teach me a life lesson at my table while I am in fact the one paying you. Your rude, learn your menu and above all learn how to wait. It is such ones who bring us fellow servers down. Don't curse at a paying customer when they are just asking you for something that is on your menu. Keep your frustrations in the kitchen. Every time I go, I try to get something different (usually sushi) because everything is so good! The tuna pizza is LIFE CHANGING. The dining are is small but the food and service are excellent. My husband and I have been to a lot of sushi places and 9 Face is among the best. It's a small place near the beach with an open kitchen where you can also watch the non-sushi options being prepared. My husband's eye wandered to the Pad Thai, but in the end it had to be sushi - although he had a short dalliance with the Tom Yum soup with shrimp, which was amazing. Large shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes in a perfectly spiced broth. We also enjoyed the sake sampler - large portions of three different sakes. It was fun to try to discern the differences. At the recommendation of another Yelp reviewer we tried the steamed chicken dumplings. Good call. They were delicious - chewy, dense, and flavorful. We opted for the brown rice nigiri - tuna, salmon, and yellow tail - decent portions, fresh and delicious! Our server didn't bat an eye at an off-menu sushi roll request. She was charming and added to a delightful evening. We would definitely return. read more

Truly enjoyed the customer service, the Mexican and Spicy California Roll (very fresh). The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. We placed an order of Miso and Wonton soup which took a good while which mean its made FRESHLY and not just scoped out of an pot that's been housing it throughout the day. I have been to this establishment many times and each time the service has gotten worse. The waitress wasn't friendly and seemed to be in a rush. The prices are on the high side and I feel that the service should be friendly and attentive. I think they were more concerned with closing on a Friday night by 10 pm than giving good service and Allowing customers to enjoy the meal they are expected to pay for. Our waitress was on her cellphone while she started removing tables disturbing anyone who was still eating. I don't plan on returning. read more

I can't count how many times I've eaten here...at least 3x a month for 5 years. One of the best sushi restaurants in South FL, the chef, Top, is outstanding and loves to create rolls according to what you're craving at the time...he likes to show off how talented he truly is. Apps: grilled calamari, dumplings, tuna tartare and the one thats served in a martini glass with yellowtail, tuna with asian veges & fruit...truly the best. Typically I'll get made to order rolls but if ordering off menu: crunchy eel, phat boy, crazy & red face. We get every type of sashimi which is always amazingly fresh and thickly cut. The entire staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The rolls are always packed with a lot of fish rather than all rice. 5 stars for sure, you won't be disappointed. read more

Really bad place... A few weeks ago.. My son (11) loves sushi and asked for it. I was determined to be a nice dad. I am new to the area and not willing to go to Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood where I know a a few nice places. I searched internet and found this place. We got there and nobody welcomed us. It was busy but not full. After 3 minutes sitting in the corner my son found, I walked to the counter and picked a menu. Sit down again. Manager and server looked at us a few times but no word or "interest". 5-7 minutes has passed, my son agreed with me that it was "weird" nobody have approach us. I did extra effort to get attention. The lady came and asked what we want, without a "welcome face or comment". My son was hungry, excited about his favorite food, waiting for something good. We asked for a few rolls and beef fried rice, plus soda. 10 minutes later came the rice, very plain, just rice in the middle of the plate, no salad, etc. Soda was served in the can even when it was served in glass to other people. Now we are both hungry. Rice was much like an appetizer and too much waiting, still waiting for sushi rolls. Rice was not up to filling expectations. I "called" the server's attention to asked for sushi. We have finished the rice, 10 minutes later she brought the rolls. Rolls were so skinny that even my son who is growing up in Coral Springs with a very politically-correct attitude and laid back mood, looked at me amazed in disgust. The whole experience was really bad. I apologized to my son, he said it was not my fault. I put a note in the ticket stating to do not expect tip. The manager said, don't worry the server is not expecting any. HAHA, they really don't care. Think 3 times if you are planning to go there.
