This was my first visit to the Deerfield Beach location. It was a nice surprise when i walked in and saw how nicely it was decorated inside as the exterior is not as appealing. We were seated at a booth immediately and our drink orders were taken. The menu is similar to the other locations. I ordered two rolls, shrimp tempura roll w eel sauce and a JB roll. My boyfriend ordered the hibachi chicken. Our food was served quickly and we were surprised at the large portion sizes. My two rolls were great and i took home half of each. The hibachi chicken was very flavorful with the large portion of fried rice and veggies but the chicken itself was very dry. We would not order that again. I would definitely cone back and try other rolls. They had a lot of cooked rolls on the menu and a lot of take-out traffic. I would also try the Ramen. Introduced to Phat Boy Sushi only a few months ago where we visited the Ft Laud location and wanted to try this Deerfield restaurant. The decor and fresh sushi was consistent with each of the eateries. Ordered a large bowl of Miso Soup as an appetizer, which was good, but on the extra salty side. The Phat Girl Sushi Roll had the perfect presentation where the flash fried sushi was floating on a green leaf. The Eel Roll was large with a generous side of wasabi paste. I love this place and how it is decorated I've notice a lot of cool decorated Japanese restaurants especially. It is a little cold in this place though you may want a sweatshirt. Food: I had the miso soup and it was amazing so warm, savory, and delicious. I was surprised by how big the soup was for a miso soup very generous in portion which I liked. I dined at Phat Boy on August 19, 2025. The service was fine, the food was good, and I liked the atmosphere. The price was reasonable. To me it was like a Pei Wei, but better. My rating is a 3.5 out of 5, (no decimals on Yelp) but I cannot exactly get it to 4 out of 5. I suppose it is not as premium as a fancy sushi place, but better than a Pei Weo type of place, so it exists somewhere between those two types of restaurants. I came on a weekend. I had a good experience with the restaurant. The staff was very friendly. We didn't have to wait to be seated. I liked the service. The waitress kept checking on us and we all had a good food experience. The restaurant is nice inside. It is nice and open with a big bar in the center. It has this beautiful wallpaper all around. The atmosphere is pleasant and the music good. It was the entrance that made an impression on me. Those holloween decoration were cool. I ordered the TNT Tuna. That was good. Those crunchy rice balls were good. The Spicy Tuna Tartar is a must-try. It had an interesting taste. The crispy wonton were stale, not crispy but the dish was good. It's just ok. I feel like this is my place to go to when everything else is closed or busy. The service is nothing exceptional but not bad either. The sushi roles are big but only because they don't seem to be rolled well so they fall apart and the meals are very heavy. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. The reviews are good, so I just had to check it out. It's on Federal Hwy, just north of SW10th, across from Sprout and in the same shopping plaza as the Asian Grocery that I love to shop at. It was late afternoon and I came with my husband. We ordered the Tuna Tartare and a Triple Roll. It was Happy Hour and the House Pinot Grigio - Ruffino was only $6.50. It was a nice pour, very light with hints of floral and pineapple. Tuna Tartare- six nice crisp wontons topped with a nice sized portion of spicy tuna with a sweet soy glaze. The Triple Roll - Tuna, Salmon, White Fish, Avocado, Cucumber and Cilantro and topped with Fried Onions. We enjoyed the roll, but kept thinking it was lacking something. We would not order it again. They do have a nice selection, so next time we'll skip this one and order something else. Service was good and server was friendly and attentive. 3.5 Stars Let me start by saying service was great! From the girl who showed us to two spots at the bar, our server and sushi chefs, everyone was very friendly and attentive. We got there 15 minutes before happy hour was over and were able to get the house wine (Josh cab) for $5 and the Tuna Tartare wontons for $10. We were off to a great start... The Wontons came 6 to a plate, perfect for sharing, and were delicious. Exact amount of heat to not burn your palate and overpower the tuna. Since those were so good, we decided to try the banging shrimp. These, unfortunately, were a bit disappointing. The shrimp itself, once you got to taste it, was good but there was SO much batter on them the shrimp got lost in it, and not enjoyable. We wanted to share the Tonkotsu ramen, and our server immediately said they could split one in two bowls. Definitely points for that! Presentation looked amazing, and the ramen and broth were very tasty but, they put A LOT of onions and scallions in it, sometimes overpowering the taste of the broth and even pork pieces. Keep this in mind if you are on a date :p And of course we had to try some rolls, so we got a JB Roll, and their Crunchy Tuna Roll. We enjoyed them but kept thinking they weren't that memorable compared to other sushi rolls we've had. So, some hits and misses, but again, great and friendly service, clean, nice atmosphere, and good happy hour options. read more

After a long day down for Port St Lucie for soccer we decided to stop here on the way home .It's come across our TikTok a few times and seizes the opportunity.
