There's something about dive bars that resonate with me. It's something you'll never know unless you knew me in my previous life. Or if you find me in one and buy me a pour. But I digress ... 901 is relatively close to work and it's where I ended up last week, though passed it a countless number of times and never had the notion of going, until a coworker suggested it for Happy Hour. Now, I'll probably be a regular. Parking is going to be challenging. There's street parking and something that resembles a parking lot around back but I'll just say - if you know the area, have fun and good luck. Sat at the bar so service was excellent. Friendly. Attentive but not in a hovering sort of way. There's only so far to walk behind the bar so looking at the levels of drinks isn't really a stretch. There's other seating too - tables and booths. Music playing - not so loud you can't hear others in your party talking. A TV was on, but I don't recall if there was more than one - mentioning it in case you're thinking of going to watch sporting events. And food is served. See pics. It's not gourmet but definitely great as bar food. I inhaled the pepperoni fries and the tacos weren't bad as well. But I was there for drinks and I love the two for one special. And that it's every day. That's pretty much what I'll be back for as it's close to work, service was great and the vibe was cool. This evening, we were at .99 to watch the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys game. There were approximately 10-14 customers there watching the game before the DJ arrived and began setting up his equipment. About 20 minutes after arriving, the DJ started playing music while the game was still in progress. The game was far from over and was only at halftime. At first, we assumed the music would be turned off once the second half began, but unfortunately, it continued throughout the game. Several customers seemed surprised and disappointed because we were there specifically to watch and listen to the game. It was very difficult to follow the game with music playing over the broadcast, including the commentary and sound effects. I completely understand having a DJ and music once the game is over, or perhaps during breaks when the game is not being played. However, starting music while an important game is still underway--especially immediately after halftime--was disappointing and took away from the experience for those of us who came specifically to watch the game. Hopefully, in the future, the game audio can remain on while the game is being played, with the DJ beginning the music once the game has ended. It would make for a much better experience for customers who come in specifically to watch sporting events. read more

Awesome Rams Bar. I love the neighborhood feeling, true LA folks that love the LA sports teams. We decided to watch the playoff game here and had the time of our life. Everyone was super friendly, we felt at home. The servers were fantastic, food was tasty ( we had the Philly cheesesteak with potato wedges). Honestly I have heard nothing but great things about this bar. However THIS IS NOT A WROLD CUP BAR AT ALL. Do not come here for the World Cup. They have minimum staff and limited service. I cant tell you how many get togethers, sports event gathering, after work drinks, and many more monumental moments in life I have had here. 901 hasn't changed that much in years. The happy hour deal here is unmatched and the food is great. They have karaoke to trivia night to even times where its an outright club bar. Service is really great most of the time, when it gets busy or packed here be prepared to wait for a bit. Speaking of sports, I recommend if you do want to watch a game here to come early to grab a table or else you will be standing. I arrived early to meet a friend for dinner at a Ramen spot nearby and decided to check out a nearby bar while I waited. I randomly searched for bars in the area, and this one caught my eye because it seemed reasonably priced and had a classic dive bar vibe. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and cozy it was inside! The space is small but inviting, with a lively crowd watching the game and cheering along. The best surprise was their buy-one-get-one beer deal from 3-9 PM - such a great value! The bartender was super friendly, the beer was ice-cold, and the prices were fantastic. I like this place. Happy hour is cool and staff for the most part is cool I normally sit by the windows. Table service was always cordial. I recently got some super oily wings ... I brought it up... they claim they come like that even though I come quite regularly (lesson to make good w some staff not always works in your favor when they not there) Wings are fried In Oil not served in a bed of oil. Yelp online link to their website reflects outdated prices too. Showed it to staff they just said it's old but it's their website. Leave that behavior for the college kids. From the moment we walked into this bar, the energy was off. As the only African American person present, I was immediately aware of the uncomfortable dynamic, and sadly, it only got worse. We sat at the bar for over 20 minutes without so much as a greeting, despite making direct eye contact with both bartenders multiple times. We were blatantly ignored while others around us received prompt service -- including drink refills, which were passed right over us without acknowledgment. When we finally did get served, the situation escalated quickly. The bartender was rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. There was a 2-for-1 drink special happening, but it wasn't explained clearly. When we asked for clarification about the pricing, the bartender snapped instead of calmly explaining. His exact words were: "I'm not doing this with you. Are you going to pay for it or not?!" -- an incredibly hostile and unnecessary response to a simple question. It's hard to ignore how differently we were treated compared to other patrons. This was not just poor service -- it felt targeted. As a Black customer, I left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any business, but especially in a hospitality setting where every guest should feel safe and valued. To my fellow African Americans and anyone who values respectful treatment -- steer clear of this place. The energy, service, and staff attitude made it abundantly clear that we were not wanted there. Upon entering it certainly was a place for USC peeps to hang out. I always passed this place if I had to change route. I'm glad this bar is no longer a mystery place. Large tvs for casting sports matches, staff are kind, appreciate their service. I don't drink, rarely do but having a taste from some alcoholic beverages from a friend I'd say was pretty good. While everyone was loudly enjoying their birthday bash, and had the freedom to present gifts and wishes to my friend, I liked the vibe. After some time I've decided to order something to eat. I chosen the 10" BBQ Chicken Pizza. Which was about $18.95. The waiting time was reasonable and enjoyed it, at this point some friends were hungry and gave them a slice. After I watched Nascar recap race and enjoyed the rest of the night with friends. Near closing time I should've went to the bathroom before hand, but staff was kind enough to let me use it before they closed. I thanked them for their service! Today was my second time being racially profiled. I understand I stayed at the wrong parking spot, which I do apologize for. But to be racially profiled for being Hispanic, my sister and I were told "I don't know if you read English". As a respectful and educated Latina, I will be the bigger person. I ordered their version of a Philly Cheesesteak. On the menu, it said," with whiz and onions," Exactly they way I order my Philly when I travel back east to Philly. Not even close, tasteless. I asked for no peppers since I'm highly allergic to them. The first order came filled with green peppers, whiz and onions, and steak. The 2nd version was missing the Wiz. The burger tasted like a frozen patty. We came here to watch the Columbian-Argentian game. The staff was attentive, but when we told them the food was terrible. They got upset. Very loud atmosphere, not a fun place to watch a match. Supringly, the kitchen was spotless for a bar! And the women's restroom is super clean! Will not be back. Hire a better chef. Ok.. (sighs) AS A CURRENT TROJAN this was my first experience at this bar AND it could be my last. So when we first arrived around 5:30 yesterday, it was slow (which we like) we grabbed a seat and scanned the QR code to see the menu. The menu was pretty vague with no drink menu or prices listed. We wanted wings, there was a price for boneless and bone in BUT no price for how many pieces and the separate fee. We were told "pretty much your drinks is whatever you see at the bar" so we kept asking questions based on how vague the menu was like "ok can you make a Moscow mule? Or a Long Island?" we were also told because it was happy hour it was BOGO drinks (but not told the price until after the drinks were served we finally asked)so we ordered 4 drinks in total, mozzarella sticks, 20 piece wings, and fries. The drinks were not strong the slightest, but the food was great. They get 3 stars simply because the food was great for it to be bar food. My only concern was the misinformation that was given and how disorganized the service was. First we our fries were delivered to a table that arrived about 20-25 mins after us so then we were left waiting another 15 mins for new ones. At the end we got our tab and it shows our drinks were $13 each when we were told it was BOGO. Turns out it was buy a drink and get a shot for free? Still wasn't sure. Our tab came out to $105. Moving on to when we closed our tab, our waiter came back and said "oh btw it's an 18% "grat.tat.tuity" (I knew what he meant) for the finals or specials events" so he printed a NEW receipt with a DIFFERENT price of $125. We were confused because this should have been told to us as a disclaimer when we first entered to buy food. It wasn't posted anywhere or anything so we felt like we were being scammed a bit. We weren't even there to watch the game but of course we watched it because it was on the tv. It was kind of upsetting to not be told this beforehand, especially for someone who has never been. As a USC student my friends always come here and recommend it but the way this experience went, I'm not too entirely sure if I want to come back. I love the 2 for 1 drunk specials!!! Only downside is parking... they have a lot in back which holds about 8 cars... finding stuff exactly parking is a nightmare with the construction... next time I'll uber/lyft... One of my go to places before a concert at the shrine. It's a short walk to the venue from here. The main reason I come here is the 2 for 1 happy hour. I mostly get beer but other friends have been with me and when they get mixed drinks they are poured strong. Worth it especially if you are trying to pregame before a concert or any event nearby. We have gotten food also. I wouldn't say the food is something worth making the trip for, but by no means is it bad. We have gotten pizza fires, pizza and wings and they have all been very good. Finding a seat isn't too bad usually but if there is a game it will be packed. I have only been here when the only event going on nearby is a concert, so it wasn't extremely packed but I could imagine it gets crazy whenever a football game is going on. There is a security checking ID's and they do scan them so you must be 21 to enter. We have sat at the bar and at a table and no matter where we sat they came to check up on us and got us our next round pretty quickly. My go to spot when in the area and I don't see that stopping anytime soon. read more

My production team and I came in for a few rounds of drinks after our rehearsal. We found a perfect spot for all eight of us, ordered our first round from our amazing server and really started to relax. After we ordered our second round, 901 workers started to take away our tables. We tried to cramp together to one table but the workers took even that one.
