This time, I tried the Spicy Chicken Bowl. I've ordered from here multiple times in the past. But those orders have always been the chicken wings, which are great. The chicken in the bowl was juicy, flavorful, and the spice level was just perfect. Had a nice burn, but not a lingering burn. Rice was great, held everything together nicely. You would think rice would be easy, but too many places mess it up. But, now onto the bad parts. The pickles didn't really mesh well with the rest of the dish for me. They felt out of place with this order. The coleslaw was warm (as it always seems to be here), which kind of throws off the flavor for me since I like my coleslaw cold. The pasta noodles were just okay. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing particularly special either. When we got to the counter, no one explained the menu or offered any guidance on flavors, even though it was clear we were deciding. When we asked questions, the cashier seemed annoyed and even rolled her eyes, which felt really disrespectful. Good service makes a huge difference, especially at a place with so many flavor options. Parking is a pain and you have to pay, location is sketch- we checked to make sure the doors to the car were locked while driving there. Staff was cordial, not overly friendly and I heard them dropping F bombs and talking bout weed while we were seated. Now the question of food- how did it taste? Food was not great, honestly. I asked for the spicy sauce on the side of my sandwich and they put all sauce on the side. It's served with slaw, cheese and a slice of pineapple. These additions are comical really. The pineapple slice on it was cold, it would be delicious if they actually grilled it. Ohhhh the cheese .. you know the government cheese you get that that doesn't melt? That's like what they put on the sandwich - not melted and extremely cold. The wings flavor just wasn't there and portions of fries, chips, and onion rings were skimpy and they were also cold. The wings were crispy & I liked how the soy garlic coating wasn't too sweet which is a qualm of mine whenever I order Korean fried chicken at other places. I did not need the dipping sauces because I like it simple & wanted to taste soy garlic. Triple fries consist of regular fries, onion rings, and waffle fries.
