Every time I come here, the drinks are never cold, which is disappointing--especially because you really need an ice-cold soju to go with fried chicken. Unfortunately, it's always served a bit lukewarm. That said, the chicken is consistently good, which keeps me coming back. The dining area was freezing during our visit, but the staff member was kind enough to turn off the AC for us, which I appreciated. There weren't a variety of flavors to choose from compared to other bbq chicken spots I've been to. There were only like 3-5 different options, which was disappointing. Also, they only let you do half and half with original flavor. I feel like you should be able to do half and half with other flavors. The indoor seating is nice though, and I love how they serve soju! Good vibes and ample seating. It took about 20-30 minutes for the chicken to come out and we were the only customers there. Do NOT order through the BBQ Chicken App (powered by DoorDash). I placed an order and needed to make a quick change, so I called the store immediately. They told me they couldn't help and said I had to contact DoorDash--even though I placed the order through their own app, not DoorDash directly. I spent nearly 2 hours on hold with DoorDash, across multiple calls, trying to resolve it. I called the store again to keep them updated, but they still insisted there was nothing they could do--even though they were the ones who directed me to DoorDash in the first place. In the end, I picked up the food, but not before wasting hours of my time. It was an incredibly frustrating experience for something that could've been handled quickly if someone had taken initiative. I find it hard to believe the store has no ability to intervene in orders placed through their own app. Many restaurants can cancel or update orders from their end--and even if they truly couldn't, they could have shown more willingness to help or advocate for a solution. This business chose to partner with DoorDash, and that comes with shared responsibility for the customer experience. If you're going to use a third-party platform, you still need to stand by your service. At minimum, customers deserve a heads-up that once you place an order, you're on your own--even if the issue arises seconds later. The food might be good, but the system is broken. I hope the manager sees this and reconsiders how they handle app orders and customer care. I asked to speak to the manager at the store, and was told there was none. Chicken is always good! Its the same as koreatown quality. people always compare but its the same. Vibes are definitely different since its in little tokyo japantown meaning there would be less soju drinking / beer chugging etc. This location is definitely more for the food and I'd say to go and pick up situation. Be very careful when ordering through this restaurant's app. It's actually managed by DoorDash, not the restaurant itself. If anything goes wrong, getting help is a nightmare. I accidentally placed an order at the wrong location which is more than an hour away from where I live. There was no option in the app to cancel the order, and calling the store didn't help either. They told me they couldn't cancel once the order was confirmed and directed me back to the app (which only connects you back to the same store). After calling the store twice, I was finally given a separate number for DoorDash support. But DoorDash refused to refund me because the store had already prepared the food -- even though they placed me on hold to call the store to confirm I didn't pick up the order and had called to attempt to cancel and it was clear I was never going to be able to pick it up. So now I'm out $125 for food that's just sitting there, wasted. This was hands-down the worst ordering experience I've ever had. I won't be returning to any bb.q Chicken location, and I'll be avoiding any restaurant that uses DoorDash from now on. read more

Chicken is good as always, always love stopping by here in the area. The plaza's parking is small but you can find parking more likely during weekdays! My only complaint is one of the rude ladies who was knocking on the door WHILE I was using the restroom and she accused me of not being a customer when I literally ordered from there... Food is delicious, my problem at this location is the customer service. My regular bb.q location is in Riverside which is filled with amazing customer service ! I was in the area today and arrived shortly before 8pm when the location closing hours were posted to be 9pm. The lady whom took our order named Jungmin was quick to let us know we were required to only order for take out and already made us feel rushed and off to a bad customer service experience. Once we got our food and she brought it to us at 8:20 and kicked us out because the dining inside was closed...she was very rude and pushy! I come from customer service as personally being a server and this is not a way to treat customers at least not loyal ones !!! read more

I believe that not all restaurant locations are equal. This one may not look like much from the exterior, but they make a mean Korean fried chicken! I've ordered at other bbq chickens before and they do not hold a candle to this one in little Tokyo! I personally would not eat here since I noticed the restaurant is not well temperature controlled and it is fast food style so I prefer to eat it in the comfort of my home. My go to order is the honey soy garlic(10/10). The glaze here is phenomenal. It is covered with huge fresh chunks of garlic and there is a generous amount of glaze that glides off of every wing. I try really hard not to leave negative reviews but this woman has pushed me past my edge for god awful service. I called to see what time they were closing she told me I had to be in the restaurant within 15 minutes if I wanted to make it before they will kick people out, she said they will close at 9 but will kick people out at 8:30? Ok fine I asked to order over the phone so it could be ready when I get there and give me enough time to eat. She said she can't take dine in orders over the phone. I told her I do it all the time because the chicken takes a long time to cook. She said she wouldn't do it. I asked for her name and she wouldn't give it to me. I've been there before and she refused to help me with getting any personalizations with my order that others have always let me do(like wings well done). Her attitude is absolutely horrendous and I won't be coming back. She called herself the operations manager but I'd like to let the owners know. This woman is making your establishment totally unfrequentable. And when I remark on her uniquely terrible service she blames the ownership and says that is what they want. I honestly always just order pick up. And the food is always hot and juicy. I am always afraid of fried chicken being dry, but that is never the case here! The only downside is the wait time is usually estimated around 30+ min, but they almost always are ready in about 20 mins or so. So don't be afraid to go in early and check on your order! I always get the spicy original wings. I LOVE fried chicken that is spicy but not saucy, so these are PERFECT. I also enjoy getting the golden original chicken which is perfectly seasoned, crisped, and juicy. Their hotter chicken (3 chili emojis or more) is usually very very hot. It's been a couple years since my last visit. I came back here a few days ago, and made the following observations: GOOD 1) The fried chicken here is still outstanding. 2) They still offer that sweet 5% cash discount. BAD 1) They no longer offer Army Stew. Lame. 2) They no longer seem to offer Grilled Sausages with Potato Wedges. Extra lame. 3) I recall that during my last visit, water was complimentary and served in a cup on request. Apparently that practice has been ceased, and now customers must purchase bottled water if they desire agua. Exceptionally lame. 4) Sikhye no longer seems to be listed on the dine-in menu anymore. If it was available during our visit, no mention of that was made. *SUPER* lame. Still a place worth visiting, but I find the changes I observed to be uniformly reprehensible. read more

Small Gangnam Style Wings (8 pieces for $19): This was the best flavor to me. It's a black pepper sauce but it wasn't spicy. The toppings were definitely a nice bonus. Small Honey Garlic Wings (8 pieces for $19): This was a close second. It was also really good but I think it was a bit too sweet for me. Small Boneless Cheeseling (8 pieces for $19): This was the worse of the 3 flavors. The boneless part is good since they were huge chunks of chicken but there was barely any cheese powder which didn't really give it much flavor anyways.
