For someone charging $40 (plus $10 extra for a beard and mustache trim), I expected way more attention to detail. 1st off 911 Fades responds very quickly to your messages and calls. Although they accept walk-ins, I appreciate it. They can make a firm appointment. I had an interview and I need a haircut really fast. I'll call 911 Fades at 7:30 AM, and Rich answer the phone and setup my appointment. Rich did a small interview with me to see what I like and then that was it. He took it from there. The cut was kold! But the shave and hot towel killed the game for me. I left 911 feeling and looking good. I thankful to Rich for getting in at the last moment and for really taking the time to understand what I wanted. The shave and hot towel was an unexpected treat. Because I met a client of theirs at a restaurant with a fresh haircut and I'm not on set today; I decided on Monday to take the 45 minute drive on down to Long Beach to try them out. Wow some of these reviews man. LOL Ya'll really be bitter over overpaying for coming late or calling and not making an appointment. 1. Would you expect your boss to pay you overtime if he had asked you to stay late? Yes you would. So why is that any different that getting charged a bit more for coming right before they close. These barbers all have lives outside of the shop, and stand on their feet all day. The last thing they want to do is stay longer after a hot ass day. 2. I don't understand how people get upset that they can't attend to you if you're a walk in. I've been bringing my brother here for more than 2 years and we make appointments. These guys are all busy and have their clientele. Some of them have back to back appointments and can't attend walk ins. I went here and I asked the guy in the chair back right (don't know his name, it was my first time) to cut a "little off the top" and clean up the sides and he basically gave me a buzz cut when I never asked for that.
