We had all of our raw dishes brought to the table and then no follow up with sauces and rice and we actually had to get up to find a manager to get served. They forgot our utensils for cooking too. Actually pretty bad. The service of neglecting actually began to piss us off. They have an automatic gratuity, which is unfortunate because they certainly dropped the ball last night. And they know it. The manager knew it. Amber knew it. They were busy so I'll give them that, but we really feel, as a party at six, that we were literally forgotten about. Absolutely great customer service from the time entered until we left. Our server Nikki was the absolite best. She kept our refills coming, checking in and explained the menu options. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was not overcrowded. They do accept reservations. We didnt have one but we're still seated immediately. Cute and cozy setting. Felt clean. You have the option to cook your meal at the table or oder from the kitchen. The orange blood martini was delicious! The truffle fries came out hot, crisped to perfection. I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise, but they brought out a mayonnaise aoli with lemon flavor to dip the fries and it was amazing. Now, the entree. I wanted to love it. The noodles were like a rice noodle, thin and transparent looking. I wrapped a little on my fork like I do with sphaghetti. ...I almost choked because the noodles would not break when I tried to chew them. I then tried cutting the noodles with my fork and then with a knife. They were cooked well but they were hard to break down. This was such a fun and memorable dining experience. We sat upstairs which felt a bit more private and added to the overall vibe. The service started off strong with a thorough explanation of the menu and what to expect, which made everything feel easy and approachable. All of the food was delicious and cooking everything ourselves made the whole experience interactive and different from a typical dinner. Once the dining room filled up, service slowed down a bit, but we still had a really good time overall. The restaurant is decided into a lower and upper dining room. The lower dining room is for if you plan to order off the main menu. The upstairs dining room is if you plan to do the "Korean bbq" where you cook on a gas wok directly at your table! So fun! We opted for the upstairs dining room (make a reservation) for my birthday celebration. You are still able to order things off the main menu as well even if you plan to do the Korean bbq option. I started with the mom's egg rolls (pork, mushrooms, carrots, noodles, chili lime sausage, and taro). They were crisp and delish. The building is super cute and the elevator between floors is very ADA compliant. I ordered off the steakhouse side (Filet Mignon & Brussel Sprouts) and both were pretty tasty but definitely soaked in butter/oil, to the point where I was sick to my stomach all night. If you typically eat clean, I would steer clear of the veggies and just do the steak. My friends did the Korean BBQ, they said the meats were great but the seasoning was odd for a Korean BBQ place (my friend is Korean) and the "house favorite" sauce tasted like ketchup. They gave it a 6.5/10 as compared to other places they've been in DC & Atlanta. Overall, would come back but would stick to the basics. 11.2025, upstairs experience. Attended a birthday party there recently and wanted to share some feedback on the paying process. The receipts were per table, no concern there. My concern was the staffs inability to properly check the table out after we presented 3 cards. The waitress asked the 1st person what are you paying, they gave her a total and she ran their card for that, disregarding what they actually owed. Hope I'm making sense. She didn't not add their tax or their portion of the 25% pre added gratuity. Unsure if this is a systems issue or human error. By the time the 3rd person got their ticket, all the left over charges landed there and the 1st card holder had left. Would suggest running all cards together and returning with all recipes at once. This is an excellent Asian influenced restaurant we dined at for dinner at the end of February 2025 on a Friday evening. First, make reservations. We attended our B&B wine hour by Forsyth Park and walked the several, beautiful blocks to Madame Butterfly. The feel of the restaurant is modern, while maintaining some pleasant antebellum Savannah feel. We were seated after a not unreasonable wait; thirty minutes, or so, as expected. We were seated at shared bench seating, which I generally loathe but were on the end, thankfully, and a comfortable distance from the not-loud party next to us. We tried a couple of appetizers which were very good; the Crab Rangoon Croquettes served with a spicy cabbage coleslaw, yumyum sauce and lemon. Also, the Calamari which was undoubtedly fresh caught and cooked perfectly. One person loved the Bibimbap (tender Korean influenced marinated steak, egg, rice, gochujang sauce and pickled vegetables). Another person loved the Grilled Salmon bowl and I loved the Steak stir fry. Everything was cooked perfectly and spiced very nicely! I was in the mood for some Asian food and a quick search resulted in an Asian fusion place called Madame Butterfly right near the City Market so I decided to check it out. Here's my take on the experience: Quality of food: Good. I tried the extra crispy Korean wings which were the crispiest most flavorful Korean wings I have ever had. The pork belly skewer, however, was the worst thing ever. I understand that the pork belly is supposed to be fatty but the fact that you could smell the fat and the skewer just looked a little gelatin-ey made it unappetizing for my palate. Décor: pretty modern. There is a really cool ambiance to the place with dim lighting and a beautiful bar area. Cleanliness: good. The bar area was being kept clean regularly. Service: good. The bartender was very friendly and answered all my questions. Price: reasonable. The skewer was around $11 and the wings were around $12. We came here for our Anniversary and solely to try their Korean bbq. We booked a Korean bbq table and ordered the meat lovers feast which came with 4 banchan. Our server Amber was nice and attentive given she had a couple of big tables. She was super friendly. Please keep in mind that I'm reviewing only for the Korean bbq experience and nothing else. Everything else was good and would come back here again and try other things in the menu. Where it went downhill for me was when I asked if the kbbq came with rice and she said no. It's $4. She agreed that it should've came with rice. But $4 for a rice that didn't even fill a cup is outrageous. We've been to so many kbbq place and every single one of them came with rice. Second thing that threw us off was the meat seasoning or lack thereof. The meat that we ordered was just plain meat with no kind of seasoning or marinade. Granted dry seasoning in a little sauce cup came with the meat but the meat itself is not seasoned. It came with 3 sauces to dip your steaks in, one was the typical sesame oil with salt and black pepper, a typical lao sauce with fish sauce and some type of gochugang sauce for the third one. The meat once cooked even after seasoning it with the seasonings provided did not make the meat taste any better. Nothing in this experience made me think I was eating kbbq. Pretty disappointing. Would I come back here again? Probably not unless they season their meat a little better and give the rice for free. Also the banchans were ok. I don't think it's made by a real Korean that's all I'm gonna say about that. As long as you're not expecting a full kbbq or part kbbq experience then you can try out this place. Unfortunately we arrived and were told that those tables were not available at the time we chose even though that is specifically what our reservation was for. While this was a bummer, the server was incredibly kind about it and quickly found us a table to sit at. For my drink, I started with a blood orange martini. It had peach vodka, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, and blood orange syrup in it and was the perfect sweetness. I would come back for this drink alone! Whew, it is so good. For my meal, I decided on the bibimbap bowl. It was loaded with veggies, steak, egg and rice. The flavor was out of this world and so rich. While pricey, I was able to eat this for a few meals as the portion was huge! Overall, this spot is worth your while. I had the butterfly effect...whatever that means, but in a good way because I experienced the visuals, the tastes, the sounds, the textures, and the smells of Madame Butterfly. Mario was our server. He was extremely gracious and intuitive. First, the ambiance is impeccable. The Asian themed decor with the hand carved wood, the delicate floral details, the marble table tops, and the beautiful stone lit bar sets this restaurant in another dimension. I decided to do the main dining because I was drawn in from the other Yelpies who told me this was the best spot for lobster. I ordered the stuffed lobster with crab. For the table I also ordered the crispy wings and the sweet carrots. Since I was in a celebratory mood, I also ordered a cocktail. The lobster was cooked to perfection. It was not rubbery or tough. It was tender and it was a nice sized tail. The crab meat was the real lump meat that had no bread. This dish sat on a bed of vegetables ( carrots, bell peppers, onions, and green beans) that were also cooked to perfection. The flavors burst onto your palate like a bucket of Pop Rocks candy. The wings were crispy with hints of ginger, and a touch of sweet soy sauce. My mouth did not get bored with all of these flavors. The cocktail had a Korean liquor that I had not heard before, so I thought this would be a great way to be introduced to it. The cocktail looked like a perfect little glass of milk. It had a beautiful violet colored orchid sitting on top. What a lovely touch. Oh, did I mention the way Madame Butterfly pays attention to detail?! Those plates are like works of art in and of itself. Another nice touch about this restaurant is that it's just a vibe, period. We live in Savannah, yet we had never been to Madame Butterfly. My family loves Asian, so we thought this would be a good place to try. Positives: Our server was super sweet and very helpful in describing the dining experience related to how the grilling process would work (you can choose to cook your own protein), although we did not go that route. I don't know if it was the marinade or the filet was old, but it was subpar for sure. If you have ever had meat that was well past its prime, you know what I mean. Both my kids love steak, yet no one really wanted the last couple of pieces. That speaks volumes, especially since it was a small portion. The Steak and Stew was pretty decent. The Gangnam Noodles were just OK. For $30, I expect something better than simply "OK". I would be disappointed if I made that at home. After everyone was very clearly done, we had to wait just over 15 minutes for the server to bring the check. Obviously this was not a big deal, so perhaps I should not have been annoyed, but I was. Sitting at an empty table is annoying when you're ready to go home.
