Had a rezy credit we needed to get some use out of and was really craving some Asian food and just by luck this place popped up. 929 kitchen and Bar and exceptional, from making the reservations to being seated and our waitress everything went smooth and the food was out of this world. I guess this place is a local hidden gem. There were so many options even the kids loved their food. If you're in the market for Korean fusion and great service then this is the spot. Friendly staff, cute vibes and delicious food- literally everything was a hit for our party of 5.

I ordered chicken teriyaki it was a good portion and the food was good. Service was quick. I don't like dark meat chicken, so I didn't like the dish wasn't white meat. I thought it was going to be white meat. I am hoping to try a new dish next time.

Came here for my brothers' birthday. They've been here and we're raving about it. Korean cuisine with a decent space for any type dining/dating. They have a bar as well and the service was on point. Will be back to try more items on their menu and bring a date.

One of my favorite foods in this world is Korea's street food "tteokbokki". Chewy rice cakes, succulent spicy broth, delectable GOODNESS! When i tell yall I stand ten toes down on 929 Kitchen?! The bartender, Nick, is one of the coolest people I've met since coming into Columbia and im so glad I just happened upon this place. I, as a white person, was absolutely sweating bullets trying to down this dish (and I'm from Cajun country yall, spice ain't no thang for me) but woooowweee!! The restaurant itself is beautiful, the drinks were strong and delicious, and the servers/bartender were worth coming back alone. Thank you 929!

We walked in and the place is gorgeous with beautiful wooden chairs. Barley tea - good Braised beef - sweet sauce, tender, delicious with the lotus root, some type of sweet potato and carrots. Bibimbap - fresh, also very good Pop mandoo - crispy, filling is delicious

This place is really nice and the vibe is chill. Our server was super friendly and very attentive. I ordered the half & half wings with a side of regular fries, everything came out fast... a little too fast. The flavor on the wings was really good but I could tell these wings were not freshly cooked, they were warm but not hot. My fries however were fresh and hotter than my wings by a mile, they were delicious. I would give this place one more chance before I wrote it off completely.

The host & server were both really sweet and I enjoyed my dinner here before my long drive back to Clemson. The food was delicious and I will definitely be coming back when I come back down for another antique day. It wasn't too noisy or bad atmosphere at all, the ambiance was great

The food tastes great but I don't really think the portion sizes match the price at all. I always leave hungry. Service is very standard. The place is very casual but the interior is beautiful. I was sort of disappointed on restaurant week when the fry went down about an hour to two before closing so I wasn't able to get anything from the majority of the menu.

A really wonderful treat. Everything was delicious and service attentive. Been our top rated Korean restaurant since arriving to Columbia 4 years ago and we'll keep coming back.

Authentic Korean flavors with a modern twist--929 Kitchen and Bar is a gem in the Vista! I came here on a Friday night with a few friends, and from the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The atmosphere is trendy but welcoming--dim lighting, cool industrial decor, and a vibe that hits just the right balance between casual and upscale. We started with the pork mandu and kimchi fries--both were amazing. The mandu were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the kimchi fries? Spicy, tangy, cheesy goodness in every bite. For the main course, I went with the Bibimbap in a hot stone bowl, and it was phenomenal. Everything was fresh and flavorful, with that satisfying sizzle when the rice hits the bowl. My friends ordered the bulgogi tacos and spicy pork--no complaints there either, and everything came out quickly and piping hot. Drinks were solid too. The cocktail menu is creative, and their Korean soju options are worth trying. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. 929 is great for a date night, group dinner, or even just grabbing a drink and some apps at the bar. Prices are reasonable for the quality, especially considering how consistent and delicious the food is. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Columbia now. Can't wait to come back!

    Side Dish Trio (Banchan)

Great small authentic Korean restaurant. Better space for small tables. We started with Side Dish Trio (Banchan) which was a kimchi trio. Then we had the Japchae Wok-fried, clear sweet potato starch noodle with spicy pork for our protein. Service was fast with quick delivery of hot food.

929 has been on my Columbia bucket-list for probably five years or so. It definitely lived up to the hype. It's a nice little cozy - date night place that's fun to go to. Pros: - Fun menu! They truly have something for everyone - Excellent flavors - Spicy foods are actually spicy - You get your food really quick - Got seated very fast - Great drink menu Cons: Depending on where you sit, you sit really close to others. I got the Yaki Udon Noodles (spicy) with chicken. This was excellent and I'd absolutely get it again. Great flavors and great ingredients that work well together. My date got the Curry Udon with chicken. She really enjoyed it. Definitely a recommend. The appetizer's looked really good, too.

This place is so good. Went during restaurant week to try them out. I went back a few months later when I came back into town. Got the short ribs again and wings - both wing flavors were amazing. The service was great during restaurant week. Waitress came and checked on us multiple times. The second time was a pick up order. Nice ambiance. The place is somewhat small but it's packed with lots of flavor.

Inexpensive or expensive to eat here?

Off street parking and also free after 7pm

Is there a parking lot for this restaurant?

Theee is not a dedicated parking spot for this restaurant but there is on street parking, first come first serve, and there is a parking lot around the corner on Lincoln Street that is metered during the weekdays.

    Is a reservation needed?

We did not have a reservation. Although I would recommend getting there early because it does back up quick with a line to eat.

I'm shocked she thought it was okay to touch a baby--especially when we're strangers. That was completely inappropriate. The server was rude, and when my mom asked for hot water, we were told they don't have any. Do they not have a kettle or a pot to boil water? That would have been more than enough. There were no accommodations at all. The food was another huge disappointment. If you look at older pictures, you'll see the huge variety of banchan they used to serve. Now, we only got six, and the portions were tiny. Prices have gone up, but the quality has dropped. We used to be able to ask for refills on our favorites, but today when my husband asked for more pickled bean sprouts, the server refused, saying we had to finish everything else first. That's just rude and unnecessary; we're not wasteful on food. We just simply asked for a refill on a dish that we favored more than the others. The service was terrible. The server never checked on us, and we had to flag her down for a to-go box while she was chatting at another table with her back turned towards us. When it was time to pay, my husband didn't leave a tip due to the poor service, and the server had the audacity to confront him about it. She argued with him, justifying her refusal to give a simple refill by saying food costs are high and people waste banchan. That might be true for others, but we're not those customers. This assumption was insulting and uncalled for. I don't know if it's new management or what, but the service here has gone downhill fast. I went in with my mom, wife, and baby boy, expecting a great meal like we used to have here. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of disappointing. First, after taking our order, the server noticed my son and pinched his cheeks--making him cry. Then, she offered him a lollipop... to an 11-month-old baby. Completely inappropriate. My mom simply asked for hot water, and we were told they don't have any. How does a restaurant not have a way to heat water? The real disappointment was in the food. This place used to serve 15 banchan (side dishes), but today we received only six, all in tiny portions. Prices have gone up, portions have shrunk, and the service has taken a nosedive. When I asked for more pickled bean sprouts--my favorite--the server refused, saying I had to finish all the other banchan first. What are we, adolescents? I didn't realize we needed to "clean our plates" before we could get a simple refill. That's never happened here or at any other Korean restaurant I've been to. The worst part? We always finish all the banchan dishes because that's what we look forward to the most when we come here. I lost my appetite after that. On top of that, the service was terrible. She never once came by to refill our water or ask if everything was okay. When we finished eating, we had to flag her down just to ask for a box, because she was sitting at another table with her back turned, gossiping with two other ladies. When I went to pay, I left no tip due to the poor service. The server then had the audacity to call me out, saying, "Tip is not included, you leave no tip?" I explained the bad service, specifically how she refused a simple refill, and she proceeded to argue with me--justifying it by saying food costs are high and that people waste banchan. That might be true for some, but we're not those customers. Making that assumption about us was insulting. Plus, you made my son cry. I don't know of many strangers who would touch a baby's face like that. This place used to be a go-to for us, but they've completely lost our support. I love supporting small businesses, but when you start nickel-and-diming customers over basic hospitality and provide awful service on top of it, you ruin the dining experience.
