I booked two massage appointments yesterday at 6:00 PM for me and my friend. My friend was taken care of by Coco, and I had a different therapist whose name I don't know. Coco did an excellent job--my friend was very happy, and everything about her service was great. Because of that, I truly appreciate the experience my friend had. However, my experience was very different. The therapist who worked on me was too gentle and did not apply the right pressure or target the correct pressure points. I didn't feel relaxed or relieved after the massage, and it seemed like she was not fully focused during the session. When she worked on my legs, she was pressing more on the bones rather than the proper pressure points. During the neck massage, she did not seem to know the correct areas to focus on, and it actually left my neck feeling more sore afterward. Based on this experience, I would prefer to book with Coco next time. I also hope the therapist who worked on me can improve her technique, be more attentive, and stay more focused when providing services to clients. I found this spot through tiktok and decided to give it a try because the price was good, 70 for 90 min massage, base price. I saw the reviews saying that it was dirty and all but it was actually pretty clean for an authentic asian place with people who don't really speak english. The lady up front said that the combo massage came with 10 min foot massage which did not happen, my mom was disappointed. They didn't touch my feet at all aside from the couple presses at the end. The combo massage pressure was very light, and the lady did not understand anything I was saying to her. We had zero communication and it took us a while to even go over the introduction and if we should take off the clothes or not. The massage was subpar in my opinion and did not get any of my knots. The massage is okay, I just don't like they are using gloves during foot massage because I am allergic to latex (see picture), I don't want to complain anything but when I saw the receptionist I just showed her my skin reacted to Latex. He was rude / obnoxious. He often left the room for a long period of time without explaining, despite he speaks English very well. What worse is that he cheated the massage time on this guy. I've had two sessions with Mia so far, and both were professional and relaxing. During my first body massage, I was placed in a curtained room, and I noticed that she applied stronger pressure across my shoulders and upper back. During the second session, which took place in a private room, the focus of the pressure was more on the lower back (lumbar). I'm not sure, but it felt like there might be a height difference between different beds, and the bed in the private room was higher than that in the curtained area, which might explain the difference in how the massage felt. Both sessions were great, but this could be something to consider if you're coming in for back muscle tension. Personally, since I tend to get more tension in my upper back, I prefer the bed in the curtained room. At first, I was a bit nervous about being in a curtained room because I was unclothed and there were no solid walls or doors. However, Mia was very professional -- she kept the curtains securely closed and ensured I was covered the entire time. She used a large towel and only exposed the area she was working on. I only had $5 in cash, so I asked if they had Zelle so I can tip. They told me there was a $3 fee for card payments, but that I could tip through Apple Pay. I've been a fairly frequent customer for about a year and a half, until last night. I've always had a favorite (Oliver) but wouldn't be picky and ask for him every time as I know he is busy. The other girls are good but varying in flow and technique but I've never had a bad experience, again until last night. About half way through my massage they changed masseurs, and I could tell immediately but still I was fine. Then the new girl got up 6 times in 15 minutes and was gone for a couple minutes at a time and didn't say a word about "I'll be right back", nothing. To top it off, when she was back "massaging" me, she had her phone on my massage bed and it kept vibrating. Idk about everyone else, but I get a massage to unwind and relax and feeling someone's phone buzzing on my bed multiple times is farrr from relaxing.
