i have been here once before and was really excited to bring my husband. it is a great price and we are happy to tip our maussuse in cash 20-25 dollars. my first experience was positive and i was really excited to be able to choose the massage strength and the ability to choose where they could focus on. We showed up on time, and it was extremely busy. the lady checking us in was on the phone speaking to another customer while filling out out preference sheets and at the end after speaking to my husband, we think she may have accidently given our massues each others preferences because i had to tell my masusse to go lighter and he had to tell his to go harder. we paid 30 dollars for an hour and then 5 extra dollars for my husband to recieve more pressure (that he did not recieve). they guided us to a room that had 4 beds and oddly put us on opposite sides of the room with two empty beds in between us which later had new customers. the room was very stinky and humid. the towels they had us laying on and wiped us down with smelled absolutely terrible. they provided a free foot soak but put your feet in the warm water while you are laying on your back which puts you in an extrememly awkward and uncomfortable position. my husband and i both requested no face or head upon arrival and they still put lotion on our faces which we had to tell them to stop. my masusse hurt my knee so bad and continued to try to rub it after i told him not to. both is us did not recieve the focus massage we requested. we both left feeling worse and stinky than we came in. i will definitely not be oming back, worst massage ever. read more

We tried the massage here today and my husband got Mike and I got Henry. Our experiences were different, husband was very pleased with his massage and I was not. Let me explain. My husband said Mike really worked on his muscles and smoothed out his kinks, it felt good and afterwards he felt renewed, like a new man! I did not feel compatible with Henry's massage; he is older and skinnier so his elbows and arms are "bony". As a result, his massage at times was uncomfortable for me and I had to stop it, or ask for less pressure. Also he needed to trim his nails as I felt them digging into my skin during parts of the massage. But he apparently didn't understand my request to clip his nails so it didn't change. Anyway, they do a decent massage here, are very efficient and friendly and the place is well managed. We would come again to try it out. read more

The staff is a disgruntled vibe, extremely unwelcoming. Makes sense why there were no patrons during what should be a peak window for that service division. If you do not tip in advance to their suggested structure they gripe because by their standard you should be doubling the hourly rate with gratuity for their time to be "worth" any work at all. The towels smelled like mold. You're allowed a refund within the first 15 minutes so I utilized that option prior to the massage. Having my face covered in the scent of molded towel was more infuriating than trying to force a gratuity structure in advance of any service rendered which makes the concept of gratuity completely useless. Raise your prices if you need to require that much more additional base pay for services you believe in so strongly instead of trying to force gratuity for tax claims. Make the location a mailbox service or change ventures if your current venture is that dissatisfying. read more

There are so many better massage places out there that actually care about the experience and offer way more for the same price, things like a relaxing foot soak, hot stones, and staff that are actually friendly and attentive. Not only was my massage terrible, but my mom's was so bad that she literally left early because she couldn't take it anymore. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. My masseuse kept going over the exact same spot for about 10 minutes straight with almost no pressure. He would slow down, randomly stop, and it genuinely felt like he was either on his phone or falling asleep. It was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. I couldn't relax at all because the entire time I was just laying there thinking about how bad it was and waiting for it to be over. Then when he finally moved to my back, he suddenly went extremely hard to the point where it was painful. I even told him to go softer, and it still felt way too rough. Now my back actually hurts from it, which completely defeats the purpose of getting a massage in the first place. On top of that, the woman at the front desk was miserable and unfriendly. No greeting, no warmth, just a bad attitude the entire time. When you're paying for a service that's supposed to be relaxing, the last thing you want is to feel like you're inconveniencing the staff just by being there. Overall, this place was a terrible experience from start to finish. A complete waste of time and money. There are plenty of other massage places out there that provide a much better, more relaxing experience with friendly staff and actual quality service. been coming here since I was 14 , im 23 now. By far the worst massage i have ever had. I love this place because it usually gets the job done for the price that it is. but today was an absolute disaster. My masseuse starts of the massage by clawing at my head (something i've never had before). She did not cut her finger nails so i was just getting harassed by a cat. I specifically asked for "medium" and an emphasis on back. She focused on my back for maybe 10% of the whole massage. And went unbelievably hard, horrible technique, never used her hands once. Only elbows and fists. There was genuinely not a single time that the massage felt good. She has been going so hard everywhere she touched was burning (something i've never experienced). Note i'm writing this 20 mins after the massage and i'm still burning. I definitely should have said something but i guess i was too optimistic that it would hopefully get better. And cherry on top, the person right next to me is snoring like a hibernating bear for my whole massage! read more

I'm not sure why this place has such low reviews. When it comes to massages, I am actually extremely picky and this place never fails me. I get a full body massage for one hour and they only charge me $30. Because I am a realtor. I drive a lot and I tend to get a back massage every two weeks. Not my first time here but definitely will be my last. At first I thought, I'll just come here for a cheap overall body massage--you get what you pay for. I asked in the beginning if they were gonna do a foot soak. Didn't get one. I asked for "soft" massage--felt man-handled. Used an almost scalding hot towel on me to wipe off the lotion. As well as too hot to handle hot stone "upgrade". Said ouch a few times but there was no check-in or accountability with the customer aka me. Don't appreciate being stripped down while being placed at the entrance for people to be staring. My husband and I went because we decided to get a massage since we were both arguing and could really use it, my husband specifically said no feet massage, they still try to do it, he also said hard and deep tissue and we paid extra for that, disappointed!!! I had been reading reviews recently and seen that people were having issues with this spot, so me and my girlfriend decided to give it a shot. Let me mind you I came in here for a FOOT MASSAGE ONLY!! "As advertised" and got a complete different experience. They gave me a full body massage and focused on my feet for maybe 10 minutes, on a hour massage. Then, as me and my girlfriend are getting a massage we can hear them giggling and laughing while they are working on us with our backside exposed and continued it for the final 10-15 minutes. So many things were different unique at this place. First time here...I decided to get the 60 minute foot massage ( $30). The reception desk has a plexiglass. In typical type A(sian) form, there were plenty of signs with different rules. Note: they're charging an extra $5 per prepaid voucher. The front desk processes payment first (there's a $1 charge for credit card transactions). Staff member then asked what areas to focus on, and also if I was okay with hot stones! This is very unique and unusual for foot massages. And then you enter a bamboo oasis. I was led to a pleather massage bed, which is more hygienic; the large room was clean. You know how you start with a soak for your stinky feet? The bucket of water was actually put on TOP of the massage bed. Victoria was good and had a medium to firm touch. I really wished the beds were more comfortable. They were so firm that while I was laying on my back, my lower back and knees started to hurt even more than when I came in. Laying on my stomach, my boobs were smushed. If I come back to this place, I think I'll opt for a full body massage hopefully on a more comfortable table. read more

Reasons for the 2 stars. The massage was hard where I was flinching and saying too hard when I specified medium. The masseuse that was massaging me was talking to another masseuse throughout and during my massage. Charging extra for foot soak water and hot stones. After adding foot soak service to a 90 minute massage the masseuse demanded 10 more dollars tip to match what excellent service suggested tip is (25) It felt like there was a lack of freedom to tip what is fair based on the masseuses technique. The masseuse common practice to demand the highest tier tip when they give you the lowest tier service is odd. I want to tip more when a not so luxury place adds luxury items such as hot stones, foot soak but will gladly pay another provider to not demand something they did not earn. read more

Always been a fan and loyal customer but I was disappointed to learn my gift cards (I bought a pack of 10 or 12) are no longer good for the massage without an additional $15. Also-now there is a charge for soaking water and hot stones. I never used the hot stones -but water? I feel sorry for the poor masseuses who have to massage maybe not so clean feet. This place used to be my go to but 100% not anymore (I had not been in a few years due to moving). My first red flag was walking in and seeing a "tip chart" on the receptionist desk, saying that a $15 dollar tip for a $30 massage is good, and a great tip was something like $30 dollars if I remember right. I had a gift certificate from a while ago that did not mention anything about an expiration date, but when I presented the receptionist with it she said, oh we don't take those anymore but I can give you 50% off. From reading the other reviews I guess that they had an owner and policy changes but it still pissed me off. Another thing that had changed from before was now everything that you can think of is an add-on, which it did not used to be. BUT most importantly, the massage was absolutely horrible. I asked for hard and I at most got a soft-medium massage. It seemed like the lady massaging me was just picked off the street and told to give me a light rub because I swear I could not tell if she was massaging me or just rubbing me, if I had my memory erased and asked if my body felt any different I would just say it felt like someone rubbed lotion on me because that is exactly what happened. I went to this place and asked for a 60 minute foot massage. What I actually received was an 8 minute foot massage. I understand that most massage parlors want to do a combination body and foot massage. I asked over and over and over for only a foot massage. I even stopped and got off the table and looked for somebody that could understand English. The biggest sign on the building is in neon and says "foot massage" yet they don't understand when I asked only for that. They don't understand English. I get this is a Chinese place but if you're not able to understand your customers you should not be charging them for services they didn't ask for and repeated no fewer than 10 times to everybody in the place that I only wanted a foot massage. I will never go to this place again, and I urge you to not patronize this business. read more

Not happy with the new owners business style My family and I have been going to Life Reflexology since they opened well over 10 years ago. My now 95 year old grandmother would come all the way from Carson. It use to be clean, organized, consistent and always a great experience. Today I walked in for an appointment with a friend, who I had gifted with a Life Reflexology gift card this past Christmas. I was shocked to see the appearance of the waiting area. There is a black curtain hanging loosely dividing the room in half. I assume it's either storage or more beds. The reception area was covered with multiple notices. One notice stating how much to tip which was illustrated with faces....more money the happier the face. When I booked the appointment I requested the private room. When I arrived, I was told it was $5 more per person. It's also $5 more for either water or stones. I paid the $10 for my friend and I to have the private room + another $10 for water. We got beds in the common area with a curtain. Upon entering the massage area, several of the employees were laying on the beds, ours included. We had to stand waiting while watching them get up and clear the blankets they were using. I am really sad by this experience. My family and I have been loyal clients, always recommending people and gifting our family and friends with Life Reflexology gift cards. It was nice while it lasted. In closing, I did mention to the receptionist I recommend they adopt the previous owners business sense and style. read more
