That said, I got my item fairly quickly since there was no one in line. One convenient feature is that they have toys right next to customer service, so I was able to make an additional purchase there without waiting at the front. This location also has self-checkout, which is the first time I've seen that at a Kohl's or any department store. I would have given it 5 stars if customer service wasn't located "over the river and through the woods."

It was a week day so the store wasn't as crowded as I have seen different Targets but for sure more crowded than I would think being a Wednesday mid-morning. Same Target deals and prices seemed to be comparable to our local Targets (because I have found that prices do vary based on location). We also stopped by the Starbucks on the way out. Towngate and Valley Gateway nextdoor have a much larger variety of stores like Costco, Targét, Walmart, Best Buy, Michaels, 99 Cent Only and PetSmart. Towngate Promenade also has some great places to eat too, like Portillo's, Pieology, BWW, Bakers and Chick-fil-a, all within walking distance of each other.

The mall itself was like a ghost town, it was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon and I see that a lot of stores are closed down. They did have a bunch of cool stores that we visited after a day at Round 1 such as Bath & Bodyworks, the Nerd Nook and Box Lunch. Totally gave me Carlsbad mall graveyard vibes when it was getting revamped. I would visit again, but only if I was in the area.
