i went in as usual. did not know there were closing store. there were lots of people and empty shelves. everything on discount due to closing '30 %' at least signs read. It is a lie. they actually are scamming people. because of the commotion and crowd, most do not notice; and on top their printers are 'not working' so, nobody ever knows their total, and how much they are overcharged. i alawys look at the register screen, they were overcharging me for tortillas that had not price label, but that the app scanner read $1.99. at register it was $3.49. a dollar fifty cents more. the same with garlic, which are normally $1.29 or $1.49, they were at register #1.99. I complained to a small woman with catwoman glasses who was supposed to be manager and who said " the app is wrong, do not use it, do not scan items there and trust the price" and i said and why is it that items do not have price labels on shelves, and why is it that you cant print receipts and you do not advice people in advance before they approach register"? she did not respond and said,but only said "sorry there is so much chaos right now" as i drove home i realized another llady in front of me, caught a small potted plan which are usually 1.49 or 1.99, to be priced at register at 4.99.! I called to speak with manager and i was put on hold and kept there for 10 minutes, they noticed my tone of voice and again, 'accidentally' like the prices and no paper to print out, it was all a honest mistake" !! it is outrageous, where are all the 'we are closing store discounts'? in fact, they have hick jacked the prices and people do not even know it. beware if you go there. Zero star sss I told you so shit in front I was coming in with a return and I was going to get it with get it from my car and go get the receipt. Then when it was time to check out the lady told me She had to check the camera. Basically trying to accuse me of stealing . She wouldn't give me my receipt back and stood in front of me. Made me wait to review the cameras. I told her I was gonna call the police if she didn't give me my receipt back LOL. Can't say I'm a big 99 cent shopper. I've been to them before many times to quickly look, however the only reason this one has gotten my attention is that this one has a huge refrigerated section and produce section. Not all the items here are fresh, but you can get an occasional deal. I picked up a nice size bag of key limes for... wait for it.... wait for it... that's right 99 cents! Not bad. The parking lot is pretty big so there's plenty of parking. Also I noticed they had a descent gift wrapping section. Not bad since that kind of stuff at Target can be way overpriced. read more

Used to live across the street from this store and visited many many times. Overall it was usually pretty stocked on everything I would come in for. My only negative is that whether there were two people shopping or 100 people shopping, they don't ever have more than 2 registers open. The only thing I can liken to the feeling of going to the 99 Cents Only store is that excitement you got as a kid the day before you went to Disneyland. And I guess this is saying more about my "thrifty miser-tood" or my "always poor lacking in ambition-tood" than how actually awesome it actually is to visit this chain. But, oh well, I'm not really looking to impress you or your bourgeois (spelled that right the first time without the red dots lining up underneath, take that ese) education and even more bourgeois reviews (eg Sushi). This particular store is a Mecca! It is what all 99 Cents Only stores aspire to but ultimately fail at due to such nasty things as "location" or "zoning laws" or "Total Household Accumulated Earnings Report". To get down to brass tacks this place is basically the size of an Alpha Beta. It has a small frozen foods section, a small produce section, a super long aisle of cookies and crackers and even an equally long candy aisle as well. All the regular "dollar store" shit is here too, you know: cleaners and degreasers up-the-ass, a 99 cent mop, school supplies, random DVD's that look bootleg, but aren't, candles, arts and crafts stuff and also a section for indoor plants. This is a list of what I purchased tonight: 1. 2 Bars of Irish Spring soap 2. A bucket 3. 2 packages of Sour Punch Straws (Hey, I like sour candy) 4. Brawny brand paper towels 5. Baby corns (marinated) 6. A can of Nalley's Wawa Chili (I have no idea what it is) 7. A clip board 8. A package of taffy 9. 2 things of baking soda 10. 4 packages of "Top Ramen" 11. I work right across the street and often (way too often), I find myself walking on over and grabbing lunch. Hey, you can't beat a fresh salad, a bag of persian cucumbers, tomatoes, peaches and other goodies for under $5. Haaaaaaaay! I know, right? Don't get me wrong this store is Ghetto and you always see some big ass girls wearing half of the clothing they should! A lot of homeless people are always in there asking for change and even the other day when I was there the security guard ( you know it ghetto if there is a security guard in the store) was chasing down some girl and grabbing her, that crazy ass broad was stealing some kids kites or something like that LOL! I seen it falling out of her pants- it was hilarious! But I shop here so often just to pick up little things, like napkins or gift bags, tissues paper, sometimes super glue, etc..... I have come to know some of the employees, so they are nice to me. But they can be rude... So many employees come and go in this store. They tend to have a lot of good name brand food items. Like Lunchables, Kraft, Farmer Johns, Yoplait, dozen eggs and now they even carry a gallon of milk for $2.99 that is cheaper then any store I know for milk. But you can also find: * reasonable picture frames in sizes up to 8x10 (!!) * a variety of foodstuffs that you would otherwise pay $2.50 to $4 normally, including milk, eggs, and produce that doesn't look as scary as you might imagine dollar store produce to be. * a variety of healthcare and beauty products, some in off brands, some are just excess name brands * decent variety of candy * gift wrap, gift bags, colored tissue paper * toys and baby books and activity books for kids It's certainly not a comprehensive replacement for non-bargain stores, but it takes care of a lot of essentials that I'm just as happy to spend less on. read more

My first sign to get the hell out was when I saw the crazy man frantically running around the store, picking up items and aggressively talking with himself. I said to myself, "Just get your shit and go." After he was tackled by security, I felt much better. My neighbor had told me about a sugar-free section here and I wanted to check it out. Well, the only thing I can say is that is was not worth the trip on its own merit, but there were some things to be had for someone with a business eye. There were too many things missing from shelves, nothing that I wanted, then again... how would I know, since it isn't there? I will warn you to stay away from a can of hot dog chili. It is definitely kindergarten-grade stock. There is a produce section with a faint smell of fruit going bad...not rotten, but getting there. The bananas are safe and I couldn't pass up the 99 cent blueberries. BAM! Banana Berry smoothie courtesy of the 99 cent store. Jamba Juice..look out! The checkout girl complained to me that her co-worker does not like her and refuses to help opening up some checkout lanes. With all the hickies on her neck, I see why her co-worker is snobbing her. I normally would never rate a dollar store. Most are the same give or take a few items. BUT I came in for one particular item and before I could get in the door good I see a woman with her dog. I immediately think WTH?! BUT it only gets more appalling when I see her put the dog on the checkout table. PEOPLE BUY FOOD HERE. and you put your mid sized dog up there?! The cashier said nothing to her. Security was standing at the end of the aisle a couple of feet away and said nothing. Several other employees (not sure positions, but they had badges on) were standing next to the next register. They also said nothing. This 99 cents location is terrible. It's located with other business that share the same parking lot.The parking is quite small and there's only two ways to enter or exit causing traffic to congest in the plaza. It doesn't seem that anyone comes to retrieve the carts from the 99 cents store after use, and there isn't a designated cart return area, probably because of the limited parking area. Lines for checkout are ridiculously long and the staff looks like they hate working there. Probably won't be returning to this location anytime soon. read more

At around 3:30 PM on 1-25-16 I walked into this 99 Cents Only Store that I have been going to for years now and was aggressively addressed by the security guard and told that I had to leave my backpack at the front. At this point I told the security guard that I had been coming to this store for years now and always use my backpack to put my purchases in and then asked to talk to the manager. When I talked to the manager I was told that the security guard was just doing their job. At this point I told them that I would contact corporate and the manager just asked if I wanted the number.
