Walked into dd's for the first time as a recommendation. I was told by a freind that it is similar to Ross but cheaper. I decided to go look for myself. I found some things for my 14 and 10 year old daughters. Prices were a bit cheaper than Ross but quite similar. Overall it was ok and I may go back due to there being a fair amount of things for my girls but not yet sure if I will frequent the place. This used to be one of my favorite place to go and I have never had an issue with anything ,Until today when I went to return something from another store I had asked an employee before I proceed with my return if I could return something from another store I had my receipt of course and she said yes of course ,As I proceed to do my return the cashier tells me there's an issue with my return that she has to call manager I was like ok ,l manager shows up doesn't even a knowledge me no hi no nothing so I professional and rude tells me she can't return my items that I had to go to the store I had purchased from , I asked her why? I asked one of your employees if I could do a return from another store and she said yes ,Manager tells me again there's nothing she can't return do and that I have to go all the way to bellflower that she couldn't help me ,no explanation no nothing ,I live down the street why are you sending me back to this store? Horrible negative feedback upon requesting what they're paid to do. A lot of inconsistencies on company procedures that are supposed to be followed by staff regularly. HR should consider retraining Management position employees on social contact & prioritize improving customer service to uphold a better experience for the customer. Reading this comments are hilarious. Yes DDs is a discount store (hence the name) they don't manufacture nor do they quality control. They're a retail store selling one step below Ross. Some of the stuff is like Ross but cheaper. It's full of random stuff. I think of it as a thrift store with newer things Come here if you're willing to shop and like bargains. Do not come here looking for something specific. You need to be flexible if you are wanting a good price. Because it's random. I think it's almost like the stuff that didn't sell well at Ross but so so cheap. Don't expect $3 pants to last long. But I've bought $8 Blazer that is mossimo and decent quality. And a $6 shirt that's sold a Kohl's for $20. For fast fashion who cares. I buy cheap basics that I toss after a couple months and can wear something new because it's $3-6 Don't get pissed because their policies: no customer restrooms and store credit only. The selections were okay the part that bugged me when I was here a couple months ago was the cashier would not hand my friend her receipt after she was done paying which I thought was rude and unprofessional and weird cause that was the first time that's ever happened to us. I agree with some of the previous comments, WORST store ever. The best thing about this store is it's location and access to easy parking. Everything else is sub standard. Came at 6pm on a weekday and no cars near entrance. We walked to the entrance doors and they were locked. We walked to the exit doors but could not get in because they only open when someone leaves the store. The sign on the store said that they were open until 10pm. We saw no customers in the store, but we did see a security guard and one employee. I knocked on the door to get the attention of the guard and he came to the exit door which opened. I asked if they were open and expected him to say that the needed to close early for some reason, which would have been an acceptable answer. All he said was, cash only. No reason why the entrance doors were locked and purchases needed to be cash only. It's been over a year since I visited this store hoping that management had changed. Merchandise still a mess, nothing organized and employees with no social skills. Just because products are lower priced doesn't mean you can't present them well or treat customers in a better manner. The neighborhood is improving, so hopefully a higher end retailer will take over this space, or that current management makes a better effort. read more

I love this place to shop for inexpensive clothing for my mom (she loves a good bargain)! I find many blouses and leggings for 3.99 or less and then end up mailing a care package to her once I fill up a box (which is easy to do). Also good for children's clothing and shoes. Have not shopped for cologne yet, and purchased a pair of dress slacks for me when I entered the job pavement again. Best of all, it is right across the street from where I live! read more

dd's is cool. I can find a lot of cute things super cheap like: bathroom rugs, shower curtains, kitchen knick nacs and bags I can use for market or beach. I was in dd's on Friday and wanted to use a MasterCard gift card that needs to be input manually (Virtual Rewards Center), and cashier stated she cannot manually enter card numbers, therefore unable to use. What happens when a magnetic strip or chip is not working at the reader, do you turn the customer away if they have no alternate form of payment? I've actually had that happen at a grocery store, and the cashier manually input my card number, sale complete! Anyway, I had cash and my debit so we moved on to a cash sale. A lot of people I know have virtual cards like myself (my name and address affixed to card), and sometimes it's easier than cash. Maybe make that an open there. Worst store ever. I will NEVER shop here. I got a toilet paper roll holder as a gift and it was a piece of junk. Toilet paper sits lopsided so it is difficult to use. Tried to bring it back for an exchange and could not because I didn't have the tags or receipt. I bought a toy for my daughter and it did not work. I went to go and exchange it. They didn't have the toy, so I wanted to return it and get my money back. They refused to give my money and I didn't want store credit because their products are crap. The costumer service was horrible. DD is Ross and Marshall's little sister. One could say, Ross and Marshall were planned, and DD wasn't. No? Not funny? In all seriousness, DD's is a cool store but everyone seems to have the same opinion on it as a whole. The items sold lack quality, in comparison to its sister stores. TJ maxx, Marshall's, and Ross carry merchandise that isn't as cheaply made, more brand items. As for customer service, well, I've never seen an actual employee out on the floor. I saw one at the fitting room one time but other than that the aisles have tumbleweeds rolling around. The loss prevention/security stands at the front and welcomes you if you're lucky, and one cashier stands at the only open register. It has at least been that way during my every recent visit. On one occasion, a woman entered the store begging for help. She was experiencing an asthma attack and didn't have a phone to call 911. She asked the security guard and the cashier, but they claimed they didn't have a phone to use or something. Baffled, I called her an ambulance --she was begging for help and claimed a life threatening emergency. If I was dying would the staff had called an ambulance for me? It's quite alarming to witness something like that and I could not just stand there and watch. I still don't know how to feel about that situation and what I can say as far as their customer service. This location used to be a Big Lots for years, then a Big Saver for not that long. Let's see how long DD's is in the neighborhood. Assuming a fire doesn't start and they can't call 911 since they can't use their phones. read more

It was pretty organized as I was looking for a shirt, heels, and black pants for work. It was very easy for me to look for what I needed. There was variety of clothing in this store. It was way cheaper than Ross and the quality was good as well. If I ever need to find clothes for work or for going out, DD's Discounts is my go to store. My mom went to return some shoes we had bought about twenty minutes before because my dad had said they weren't the correct size. She came back a few minutes later and said the woman at returns refused to take them back because they needed her ID so she could return them. I went back there on my own and when I asked about the situation the woman claimed it was because they needed a code to be able to return it. How in the heck would a return code be on my mom's ID card? No, they did not ask for my ID when I went which just proves how bogus their claim was. read more
