The last time we came here it was awful, but when we recently gave it another try while using our free play at the casino, we had a great experience! Our server (unfortunately don't remember her name) was the fastest we've had here (ever)! She was also super pleasant. Our food was delicious and came out quickly. And we got to enjoy watching some sports highlights and have a nice quiet weekday lunch. I tried the Bonne Femme honey wheat ale, and I loved it! It had just enough sweetness. I also tried a the shrimp quesadilla for my first time and it was EVERYTHING. I like to mix it up usually, but this might become my new go-to. The shrimp wasn't chewy and over cooked, and ALL of the fillings were piled in--the thing was oozing with cheese. I was able to save half for another meal. Highly recommend! Came here for breakfast while staying at the casino hotel. Service was very good and attentive. Food was not great, but good as basic breakfast. I had the Southwest omelette and my husband had blueberry pancakes and requested not having the blueberry jelly on top. They came out with a lot of jelly on top. For a place that advertised 99 beers only 20 are on tap. Got there at opening and couldn't get a cold glass for my beer. Was told they didn't have any then she brings me a wet glass. Bartender just didn't wanna wash dishes. For a beer place to not have glasses come on.... Quickly seated. Service was fast and helpful on a Saturday early evening. Note they have a special menu on concert days. The salad was fresh and tasty. The Brussel sprouts were average, not bad. Tell the customer what he/she ordered is not available at the time of ordering...not after you bring food out and tell the customer basically tough luck...take it or leave it. I absolutely love this place. The food is great. My go to are the lamb chops or salmon tacos (on Tuesday) I love the brunch after dark on Mondays and Comedy Karaoke on Tuesdays. They always have a top tier DJ so you will be jamming all night. I give it a A for nightlight and fun things to do in the city. read more

We came here prior to a show. We sat at the bar. This seemed like where most of the guests were sitting anyway. They don't really have drink specials but there was a Stanley Cup run so they had a few themed drinks for the events. They were good and cheap. They seemed to be mostly beers flowing with the occasional 3 ingredient cocktail. If you are look for craft cocktails.. might not be your stop. I didn't order beers but they had what the SO was looking for so I guess that works? The food here was pretty standard bar food. It was good but nothing that would make this a destination for our evening. Just a stop if we were close. Prices were about what you would think for a casino lobby restaurant. We will stop again if we use the shuttle for a night at the amphitheater (I would call it by name but it will most likely be a new name by next year.. j/k(sorta) read more

Stopped by after dinner to have some beers and listen to the live music. Our waitress was absolutely terrible! She disappeared for about an hour during the evening after we'd ordered drinks. We waited about 40 minutes for the drinks then finally another server stopped by to check in. He brought us new drinks then they tried to charge us for the multiple rounds. This was a top to bottom spectacular disaster any way you look at it. We were at the Hollywood Casino for a concert, and we arrived early to eat and take the shuttle. The 99 Hops house looked like the perfect spot for a quick drink and a bite before the show and the shuttle was just outside so the location could not be better. It was a Saturday night, a baseball game was on, it was the night of a show- so we expected it to be packed- and it was busy but not crazy or anything too overwhelming. The hostess was not friendly- she wasn't rude, but it was not welcoming or a pleasant first impression. Then the manager came up to offer her direction and I could see why - the manager was outright rude to the poor hostess and for no real reason. I don't know why we didn't leave right then, but the beers were calling and we were hungry. We were a party of 4 and we agreed to be split up into two parties of two next to each other in high tops and that worked well. We were seated right away and put drink orders were taken rather quickly. We had over an hour before the show was starting so we didn't feel like we had to rush, but we ordered apps to be safe. Since I am a vegetarian I didn't have a single appetizer option and I opted for the Mac n Cheese with no meat and the server assured me it was quick. We waited a while for the food and our drinks. I know it was busy but this felt like really slow service. With only 20 min left to show time our food arrived. The Mac and Cheese was probably the worst I have ever had- ever. The noodles were over cooked and falling apart and the "cheese" was more like light yellow colored milky water. It was flavorless, it was cold and the texture was all wrong. My friends ordered chicken quesadillas and tots. They had a less disappointing experience. Eventually I was able to flag down our waitress who acted like this was her first ever day serving (I have forgiveness for that if that is the case- I don't know if it was- but she wasn't shadowing and no one was stepping up to help her out) and asked her for a cup of shredded cheese to help make this edible. She looked at me like that request was impossible and stammered a bit- so I politely explained that this was the WORST- and I didn't have time to order something else - we had to get to a show, and I was hungry. So she said she would "try" to get me some cheese and she left. With my dining companions almost done and the waitress back and fourth to countless tables I finally got a cup of shredded cheddar cheese as the show was starting. We asked for the bill and I attempted to make something edible before we left. When the bill was delivered and we had payment ready to go the waitress actually ran off and wouldn't take the payment so we had to wait for her to come back to pay. We even attempted to take the bill to the hostess in an attempt to make this go faster as we were now LATE for the show. When the waitress took our payment she had a stack of other bills (6-8) in her arms to run them all at the same time- which just showed slightly skewed time management skills on her part. Overall the place was poorly managed from the start- the kitchen needs to improve their quality and the entire staff needs to figure out something because there is a great opportunity for a lot of business, table turnover and high tips. The venture has shows, a casino and events and people want to eat and drink. I know there are other casinos in the area with amazing chefs and service and you feel pampered. I will spend more time there in the future. read more

I will not be going back anytime soon. The service was horrible but the food was good. We ate before we went to a concert and they were not that busy at all. They had plenty of open tables. It took about 10 minutes for our server to come to our table and even acknowledge we were there. We ordered our drinks and food since we had been waiting so long. About 5 minutes later we got our drinks. The food came out timely and was very good. Our server never came back to give us refills or check on us to see how our food was. While eating the table next to us had their bill and were waiting to pay. After about 5 minutes the family was getting impatient and one of the kids picked up the credit card and the bill and began waving it around in the air attempting to get the servers attention. This went on for about another 10 minutes. Another table next to us was seated and after 10 minutes they never had someone come get their drink order. I got up to and walked to the host stand where I was met by my server. She asked if she could help me and I told her we wanted our check. I explained to her the check needed to be split and what orders went on what check. She said okay and walked off. I asked one of the host to speak with the manager. I told the manager about seeing our server only one time, never offered drink refills and the service I had seen at the other two tables. The manager asked what he could do to make it right and I told him I did not want money off the check he just needed to fix the problems. After speaking with the manager I went back to the table and was told the server dropped off the check, but she had printed them all separately because she did not know what went on what check. After speaking with the manager I recall seeing him in the dining room on and off through our visit. He had to know the problems existed but did not seem to care. Again the restaurant was not busy and no one could seem to get their act together. read more

Outside of the terrible customer service and gossip at the host stand that caused employees to ignore multiple customers... the bartender walked by us and served multiple guest while ignoring us at the bar for a good 10 min before another customer finally let us know that you ordered drinks from the end of the bar. Our food was overly salty (the appetizers, steak, fries and potatoes) the steak came out well done when asked for medium, they served fingerling potatoes instead of mashed, which the menu stated, then was told by the employee who asked how the steak was cooked to just "enjoy the steak." It was a concert night and they were on a wait. We noticed about five small two top tables open for a bit. When the manager/hostess finally made it back to take our name, I asked her if we could sit at two small tables. She rudely told me no because there were other people waiting then she ignored me and did not put my name in the list. Another employee then sat us at the same tables we asked about. The food was cold. The server never came back after we ordered and we had to track her down to pay. Whitney waited on us and she was fantastic! 5 star service, 3 and a half star food, averaged to 4 stars because Whitney should get 5 and a half stars. Limited food choices at HC during certain hours. Hops has decent food but the absolute worst service time and time again. Bartenders disappear into kitchen for extended periods almost constantly. She brought us back someone else's glass as it had an unwrapped plastic straw already in it. Only one of our glasses had a straw and it was the paper straw from the waitress. When we asked for a new drink as that was not ours, the waitress was not concerned nor did she warn the other table that our cup was now there cup. After researching places around Hollywood Amphitheater, we picked this establishment to pre-party before a concert. I had done my original research of the menu, their drink menu, etc so I was excited upon entering but VERY disappointed to see that the expansive menu online was only 1 page upon sitting down. The online menu had more options for our vegetarian friend but luckily we were all able to find something once we added/eliminated items from what we ordered (bacon burger & fries, chicken sandwich & fries then the turkey club croissant that we had to modify to make it vegetarian). The food arrived in a timely manner (not served by our original waitress), hot and right out of the oven with a great size pile of steak fries that completed the meal. We devoured every bite. We saw our original waitress a handful of times and she wasn't a people person. After the reply above to the menu, I was hoping she would be attentive but was not - our teas were only filled 2 times if that. We saw other wait staff rushing around more than we saw ours. She also did not ask if we needed anything else or wanted dessert, she simply dropped the check off and walked off. The food deserves high stars, the atmosphere high stars and the wait staff that we unfortunately got should get zero stars. Hopefully this will get better in time as its a new restaurant. read more

We eat here because we were staying at the Hollywood Casino & wasn't super hungry to eat at one of the other fancier restaurants. It was around 8:30pm on a Saturday night, so it was busy. So we came back in about 15 mins & I'm guessing the manager was at the hostess stand this time. I gave him my name & he looked it up & said ok! Please just give me two mins & I will have u a table. Which he did. We are not sure but it seemed like when we put our name in, they were at shift change??? But an odd time for that or some of the waitstaff didn't show up for work. Because the handful of staff that was there was busting their butt to get tables cleaned & ready for other customers. So anyways thats why I didn't give 5 stars. Because the food was good! I ordered the fish tacos minus the cheese. U get three soft shell tacos & they were really good for bar food as I would say. My hubby ordered a cheeseburger & fries. He said the usual it was good! Wanted to like it. Went to 99 Hops House initially because we had a casino voucher. The menu looked good and we liked the atmosphere. Pretty disappointed, and over half of our meal was free so we had a huge positive going in. Pros: beer selection was good and beer we ordered was cold; hostess and server very nice and attentive. Cons: prices too high for what you get; we each ordered a burger and both very over cooked and dry, no sauce or onions on the patty melt (which is all about the sauce and grilled onions). Since dining out is primarily about the value and taste of the food, good service could not save this one so won't be going back. read more

My husband and I both order brisket cheese steak. The brisket was very salty but the manager said she went and tasted it herself and didn't think it was salty. Manager was very rude and wouldn't accommodate us in any way for the inconvenience of having to wait for another meal. We also had fried pickles that were salty as well. I have went there 6 times this summer and have been there from times where they were practically dead to very busy and ALWAYS at least a 5 or 10 minute wait to even be acknowledged by a server.
