I feel it's always better to write a review while at the place, so... Very "Cheers" vibe. The locals and regulars are friendly, chatty and have stories! Made my time worthwhile. Bartender at the end of the night, told me they were closing soon. was finishing my drink she got pissed at me when she asked if i was finishing it and i said yes and even though everyone else was still sitting there finishing their drinks she ripped the drink out of my hand and threw the drink that i paid for! then continued to yell at me while everyone else was still sitting there finishing their drinks. absolutely the worst bartender and service in my life read more

Well ... this is definitely a dive. Close to my office in Westport, and my coworkers and I were looking to try something new for happy hour. The pictures posted are a bit misleading. There are not nearly as many games as we thought (really just electronic dart boards) and also smoking is allowed inside, which none of us loved. The drinks were very reasonably priced and our server was friendly. Also, they don't serve food. You can order from the restaurant next door and they will bring it over. Probably has to do with the fact they do still allow smoking. read more

Nice bar, but cliquey. The usual clientele is white men between 45-80 years old. Smoking is allowed and the air is heavy with it near the bar area. WiFi is not free and password is not given out. Drinks, however, are fairly cheap (lots of the basics), pours are long, and when I go in, I usually am gifted a free drink. Decent escape while doing laundry at the laundromat next door. read more

I loved the look of this place and was hoping for that at home feeling of a small hole in the wall, neighborhood bar. Unfortunately what I got was WAY overpriced beer and rude service. My girlfriend and I waited at a table for service from the waitress but she never came. Without giving it much thought after about 10 minutes, I went to the bar to get a drink. The waitress of course popped up at that exact moment and have my gf a hard time about me going to the bar. Super weird. Then, She vanished again. We later saw the same waitress playing darts, messing aroundon her phone, and smoking behind the bar instead of actually waiting tables. Maybe if she waited on people and served them with a friendly face people wouldn't go to the bar. We won't be going back. read more

Darn, I really wanted to give this place a good review. We loved the fireplace in the cold weather, and the people seemed friendly. So, why can't they honor what they say are their specials on their own website? We went in expecting happy hour on Monday, all day and all night. Exactly as their website shows. The bartender was nice, but just blew us off and couldn't explain why she couldn't do it. Honestly, it wasn't so much the ten dollars, it was just that crappy feeling knowing we picked the place. If you want quick and fast service during lunch this is a good place to try. Do not go here on the weekends it is jampacked with bunch of drunks and it's VERY SMOKEY. The bar is way too small to hold lot of people. The staff is friendly and service is quick. Food is your typical bar food but it's not bad by any means. Drinks are strong and the prices are reasonable. The bathrooms are dirty and this place is "rundown", a hole in the wall. If I were ever to go back it would be during lunch time only. I made a mistake one time and walked in on a weekend with some friends, and we walked right out because of the smoke. It's almost seemed like foggy because of all the smoke. read more

If you like dive bars where everyone knows your name, check out the Brewhouse. While living in west county for a couple years, this bar was a staple in my weekly routine. In fact, it's where my boyfriend and I met three years ago. Since the Brewhouse, located next to Balducci's and 7-11, is surrounded by apartment complexes, it tends to draw in a crowd that's sick of going to dance clubs or driving downtown. If you live within walking distance, you'll probably run into a neighbor or two. Age varies at the Brew. Customers range from old drunky who never leaves the bar stool, to young college girls singing all the words to Journey. During the week you'll see the same faces every day. If you're friendly, you'll meet all the regulars and the bartenders in no time. Even though Brewhouse is small, there's a jukebox, pool table, dart board, silver strike, mini golf, and golden tee. If you like playing pool against other bar patrons, this is a great place. They also have karaoke, a video DJ, and poker night. The prices are a little on the high side for a dive bar, but they get away with it since it's a short walk away from many apartments and it's cheaper than a DUI! Oh, and check out the walls in the ladies' room for a good laugh. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the people inside are what makes it great. You can actually get a beer at this bar and it is one of the most friendly bars I have been to. The live music every Friday is a must. And yes smokers can actually do it inside here. read more

Me and my boyfriend went to have a beer here before our date bc he lives across the street. We Didn't bother any body or even talk to anyone else but I guess bc we were dressed kind of nice, the regulars started yelling at us to get out and don't come back. Ruined our mood and hurt our feelings so we just went home :( the manager didn't say anything either so my recommendation is if you are not a regular , do not check this place out. I went to the Brewhouse for the first time Thursday night and was not too sure about it walking up to it. I didn't even know there was a bar there. The cub appeal was just not there. I walked inside and was just in shock on how many people were there. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Victor the Bartender's ladies this man is a sexy good looking guy) he was nice and prompt. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink so he asked me what kind of drinks do i like sweet or stout, I said sweet. He walks away and comes back with a drink that was so Yummy that I had a mouth gasm. He wouldn't tell whats in it or what it was called and I didn't care. So we just kept asking for the Victor Special. Ladies If you get a chance go up to Brewhouse the service was great and Victor umm hello so hot. I definitely will be back to see him and his special ;-) read more
