Saw this food truck on the way back from Telluride as we passed dozens of fast food places looking for anything but. The "Thai" flag waving in the wind was like a sign from the heavens. No need for junk burgers or chicken- relieved, we pulled in quickly. Glad we did. Met Nathan and his wife, the owners/cooks were super personable and helpful. Had the thai rice and the most amazing pot stickers I've ever tasted. The prices were also super reasonable. If I wasn't so far from home, I'd have ordered another meal to have for lunch tomorrow. Since 99 Thai Food is a mobile food trailer usually around only for lunch, it's taken me awhile to finally track it down in Montrose. Currently making appearances Mo-Tu-We on the east side of Townsend Ave. near Subway or Mine Shaft Car Wash. (See their facebook page for updates) I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and it was delicious. You can modify the spiciness level when you order, Mild, Regular, or Extra. I went with the regular and there was plenty of zing. I ordered mild for the kids and that was just as tasty with as much punch. Service is very friendly and they got my order out in less than 15 mins. (Be sure to budget that time if you are rushing out on your lunch break) Since Montrose has very few options for quick affordable asian food, I'd say this is one of your best bets. I plan to return to try some of their other entrees, but if you want to play it safe, go with the pad thai! read more

Best Thai food in this area and best food deal in Montrose. Our favorite entree is the drunken noodles but the pad Thai is also very good. The drunken noodles have a very tasty sauce and the noodles are prepared nicely, rather than the congealed mess that is served at some Thai restaurants. The pad Thai is a little more tangy than other pad Thai dishes I have had but still very good and full of flavor. For the price, this food is fantastic and the portions are quite large (significantly better overall, for example, than the much more expensive Thai restaurant in Ridgway). Definitely worth a stop if you see their truck parked in Montrose or elsewhere in the area. read more

The servers were very friendly and quick to take my order, and the food came out hot and fresh off the stove. A great surprise! We needed a quick lunch and drove to Subway, where we spotted this food truck in the adjacent parking lot. My husband ordered fried rice, I got Drunken noodles, and we ordered the potstickers. We definitely should have shared! The meals were very generous sizes and we had plenty for dinner later. AMAZING!!! We found this place driving to the Montrose airport. It was the highlight of the day. Unlike most thai spots, 99 had JUICY pad thai, JUICY pad see ew, and JUICY drunken noodles. The thai basil fried rice was also incredibly flavorful. Best thai food I have had in a really long time. Oh my...my husband and I moved to GJ from Seattle nearly 6 years ago. We have been missing thai food very much. We finally caught up with the 99 Thai food truck while driving to Ridgway. We spotted them and made a quick u turn. My husband ordered the Panang Curry and I ordered the Pad Thai. We had a 15 minute wait. Well worth it...we both asked for spicy. The portion was huge for Pad Thai...yum..leftovers. Big portion also for the Panang Curry. Both were so tasty and fresh. Very hot as requested. .will do medium next time. Seem to have quite the fan following as Many pulled up and had placed to go orders. Solid Thai food. I've only tried the pad thai so far, fresh ingredients and great flavor. They will actually make it hot if you ask them to, which is rare for most thai places as soon as they see a white boy. Pad thai was a little too saucy for my taste but still really good. I spent about a month in Thailand bouncing around through the rural areas between Mae Sot and Chang Mai and absolutely fell in love with the food. I have struggled for years trying to find something that is at least vaguely similar to the authentic Thai food I had when I was visiting there and here it finally is! So far the food I tried here is AMAZING. I got the Thai fried rice for my son and the yellow curry for myself. They were absolutely delicious and wonderful for authenticity. I also had a Thai ice tea that took me right back to the Thai countryside I saw so many years ago. The people working the truck were very friendly, helpful, kind, and we didn't have to wait nearly as long as I had expected since they are making everything fresh. The prices are wonderful for the quality of food you are getting. I wish I could eat here every day. It was wonderful and I will DEFINITELY be frequenting this establishment. read more
