    Khao Soi with Fried tofu
    Maura S.

This spot had our whole group coming back repeatedly for more food the whole weekend we were in Telluride. We have a few vegetarians in our crew who pegged this as their favorite spot of the weekend and I'd have to agree. Based on the waiters recommendation I ordered the Khao Soi with fried tofu and which I'd never had before. He really sold it to get me to order that because if it's on the menu I almost always like to order chicken pad see ew. I was really happy with my choice and would make the same decision again! It was a delicious mix of coconut creaminess and savory spices with noodles and perfectly fried tofu. It made great leftovers too! We will definitely be back to Siam Talay next year when we are back in telluride. My mouth is watering thinking about it now.

The Siam Talay Grille located at the Inn at Lost Creek in the Mountain Village is a welcoming and well managed restaurant. It offers a great selection of your traditional Thai favorites; we had a great dinner in an intimate setting and pleasant setting. Our neighboring table had a baby crying and a kiddo running everywhere. So, that was not ideal. They offer handcrafted cocktails and wine in a cozy bar where you can enjoy a glorious mountain sunset.

    Shishito pepper appetizer $9

This is Telluride's Mountain Village, so if you think it should cost $10-$15, double it for the price. It's to be expected. We had shishito peppers as an appetizer and there were easily 30 (!) in that bowl. We had about 4 zingers that definitely made me wish I had bread handy, but otherwise were fairly mild. Really good. 5/5 for what I expected. The Siam salad was big enough to split, so we did. It was a 3/5 in flavor and definitely more hearty lettuces. No junk, but the flavor was just fine. I had drunken noodles and I'd say I wished it had more Thai basil and tomatoes which usually make the dish what it is. I'd say I've had better and give it as 3/5. My husband had a chicken stir fry with a side of fried rice and it was good. 4/5 For $77+ without tip, it was about right, but sure have had better drunken noods. Really great location in mountain village, but the name on the front is "Talay" instead of Siam Talay, so be aware. I'd go with 3.5 stars to average out the eats we ordered, but no half-sies... so 4 it is.

    Shrimp tempura

Food was delicious! Definitely recommend making a reservation as they get pretty busy, but the food was amazing. Highly recommend the pork dumplings and the shrimp tempura!

Coconut soup was good. Pad Thai was good. Braised beef panang is very meaty tasting and taste nothing like panang. Food took a long time to come. Waiter was nice but timing was annoying. I don't think I'd come back here. I overheard someone arguing about a service fee for to go orders. Who charges a service fee of 20% for pick up order????

In the 4 years we've been coming to Telluride, we have always stayed away from this restaurant due to the not-so-great reviews. However, we were really craving Thai food our first night in town so we decided to give it a go. The restaurant was fully committed when we walked in (try to make a res ahead of time!) but the hostess was so kind and was able to find us a table for 2 around 7pm. The service was great, although we had to wait quite some time for our food, possibly because they were a bit understaffed. We ordered the red curry chicken and chicken pad si ew and neither dish disappointed! We're glad we gave this restaurant a try, because their food is awesome!

Crispy Duck with Pad King Sod. DELICIOUS!

(Ask if you want the peanut sauce on the side). my wife had pineapple fried rice. she asked for extra vegetables and was not disappointed. I had the masamann curry dish, excellent again. Service was excellent. Someone reviewed it as the best Thai in Colorado, I have no reason to argue the point.

Also keep in mind this was late afternoon on a Friday. Unfortunately fast may be part of the problem. I ordered curry-it was thin, one dimensional with some chicken and a few pepper slices. Some other mushy stuff I didn't recognize. It took all the rice they gave me to make it palatable. Wife had Pad Thai. Medium heat was too hot for her-she thought it was average. We also ordered Crab Rangoon. 11 bucks for 4 soggy pieces. Total bill with up charge for using credit-3%. Plus 15% tip for handing me the bag-$60 bucks! Crazy! It wound be different if the food was excellent. I think it was pre-made-getting ready for a busy Friday. That's why it was soggy and quick. You'd be better off making curry from a bottle from the store. Sorry-for 60 bucks I expected much more-for take out! We will not be back.
