First, the staff and service are excellent! During our two week stay in Mountain Village, we ate here once and took out once. The dine-in was a 5. Yellow curry with chicken, pineapple fried rice with shrimp, and grilled elk. All were so flavorful and delicious! Our last night in town we ordered to go. We got the pineapple fried rice again (this time with chicken), which we couldn't believe was the same dish. It lacked flavor and pineapple was MIA. This spot had our whole group coming back repeatedly for more food the whole weekend we were in Telluride. We have a few vegetarians in our crew who pegged this as their favorite spot of the weekend and I'd have to agree. Based on the waiters recommendation I ordered the Khao Soi with fried tofu and which I'd never had before. He really sold it to get me to order that because if it's on the menu I almost always like to order chicken pad see ew. I was really happy with my choice and would make the same decision again! I visited this restaurant in Telluride for my quick vacation and the food was excellent. Me and my husband enjoyed our dinner. Lyle was our server, and she made our dining experience more enjoyable with her outstanding service with a smile. If you are looking for great Thai in the Mountain Village, this is the place to go. The ambiance is nice and the servers very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Contemporary Thai Scallops that came with broccoli, carrots, various spices and fried rice. The scallops were perfectly seared and there were a lot of them. I was surprised by the quantity and quality of the scallops! Exceptional flavor! For dessert, we shared the Triple Layer Chocolate Mousse Cake and the Banana Lumpia. This is Telluride's Mountain Village, so if you think it should cost $10-$15, double it for the price. It's to be expected. We had shishito peppers as an appetizer and there were easily 30 (!) in that bowl. We had about 4 zingers that definitely made me wish I had bread handy, but otherwise were fairly mild. Really good. 5/5 for what I expected. The Siam salad was big enough to split, so we did. It was a 3/5 in flavor and definitely more hearty lettuces. No junk, but the flavor was just fine. I had drunken noodles and I'd say I wished it had more Thai basil and tomatoes which usually make the dish what it is. I'd say I've had better and give it as 3/5. My husband had a chicken stir fry with a side of fried rice and it was good. 4/5 For $77+ without tip, it was about right, but sure have had better drunken noods. Really great location in mountain village, but the name on the front is "Talay" instead of Siam Talay, so be aware. I'd go with 3.5 stars to average out the eats we ordered, but no half-sies... so 4 it is. read more

In the 4 years we've been coming to Telluride, we have always stayed away from this restaurant due to the not-so-great reviews. However, we were really craving Thai food our first night in town so we decided to give it a go. The restaurant was fully committed when we walked in (try to make a res ahead of time!) but the hostess was so kind and was able to find us a table for 2 around 7pm. The service was great, although we had to wait quite some time for our food, possibly because they were a bit understaffed. We ordered the red curry chicken and chicken pad si ew and neither dish disappointed! We're glad we gave this restaurant a try, because their food is awesome! read more

Delicious but very inconsistent. We stay at the Inn at Lost Creek quite often and end up eating here because it's so easy. You just walk down from your room at the Inn. We've had almost everything on the menu and from our ten or so times of eating here, the curries are the best things on the menu by far. For some reason all of the noodle dishes seem to be mealy, mushy with very meh flavor, not the Thai food flavor bursting with Thai basil and spices we've become used to after living in Thailand and eating at many Thai restaurants. And they overload most dishes with red and green peppers, I get it, they're cheap fillers but when you charge $30 plus for the smallest Thai entrees I've ever had, I wish they had more diverse veggies. You don't find one dish with red and green peppers in authentic Thai food, Thai people would be horrified. Also, portion sizes are small, I mean really small so expect that. I have to say the best part of the meals are the wait staff. They are ALL amazing, friendly and attentive. The young blonde ish colored hair male bartender in the bar area is so rude and put out that you actually want to eat at his bar! Oh the nerve of guests that aren't one of his Bros.... The next night we had drinks and the other bartender , a young woman with long hair, was nicer, but not that nice. The servers/hosts in the actual restaurant are the best and always make our experience better. They deserve 10 stars!!! Overpriced, unreasonably expensive, and plagiarized a local business! My family and I have visited both Siam Talay grille and Siam in Telluride, and I'd have to say Siam in Telluride takes the cake. The reason I say this is because of how overpriced and inadequate the portion sizing at Siam Talay grille is. Additionally, the menu in both restaurants is nearly identical (with disparity in pricing, portion sizes, and quality). Upon further research, Siam Talay Grille actually plagiarized both the name (Siam) and menu from a small business in town. Not only up charging customers, but radically decreasing quality of food as well as increasing prices. Based upon the good recommendations of some hot tub acquaintances, we decided to try the Siam Crispy Duck ($33). We started with some fried Pork Dumplings (5 for $12) which were ordinary. Certainly no better than the frozen pot stickers from Costco. But then I tried a Tempura Gulf Shrimp hand roll ($7) and that was delightfully crisp and fresh tasting. The Crispy Duck was boneless and easy to eat. It was tender and juicy with a light crisp breading. The Pad King Sod vegetables were cooked perfectly in a light ginger glaze. My favorite dinner of our trip to telluride! I didn't get any photos because it got devoured so quickly. First of all, lets be clear. This is not a Thai Restaurant. The sign out front does not say Thai. The website does not say Thai. It is "An Asian Tapas and Seafood" restaurant. It is also located at 9,500 feet above sea level. In a ski resort. In a hotel. That being said, the food, for the most part, was tasty yet bland, the service was decent, and I would come back. In fact, this was my second visit. We started with the chicken satay. It was juicy, not burnt, and had a char broiled aroma. The peanut sauce was thick but not too thick. Next was the king crab roll and the beef roll. Both were delicious, had great sauces, and left us wanting more. The drunkin noodle was terrible and gummy. I would not order again. The southern thai salad was light, refreshing and was top notch. Finally, we enjoyed the scallops with an assortment of dipping sauces. OVERVIEW: Thoroughly disappointed. A lot of things on the menu were hit and miss, and even the best things I tasted were pretty mediocre. The slow service, high price, and attempt at fusion food definitely missed the mark. A shame, just because I love Telluride so much, and this place is in such a fantastic location. I think the original Siam's is better than this place. First of all, the decor is incredibly tacky and try-hard. With many fountains, multiple buddha statues, beads strung over objects, flowers, plushy exotic pillows, statues, random vases, baubles hanging off of things, the place reeked of inauthenticity. The decor was eclectic and was not in the least bit streamlined. It definitely foreshadowed the type of food to come. Second of all, the service was INCREDIBLY SLOW. I made a reservation at 6:45, and we weren't seated until 7:00 even though the place wasn't packed. It wasn't until 7:50 did we get our appetizers, and 8:20 til our entrees. The tea had even taken them 15 minutes to get to the table. I had more than drained my class until we had to ask to get our water refilled, which at that point I had already drank a portion of my brother's water too. Our waiter was pretty energetic and passionate, but he also resorted to self-deprecating jokes about the food and service which did not give off a great impression. He hyped up the food so much that it led to even a greater disappointment. And the most important aspect, the food! The menu consisted of hand rolls, gwa pao (a steamed white dough-y pancake that is then folded so that it may be filled with meat and other things. I am very familiar with these being Asian American), and entrees. THE APPETIZERS: The hand rolls are pretty hit and miss. I had ordered a salmon hand roll, and I swear the chef forgot the sauce. The pate and the crispy duck hand rolls were pretty good. The gwa pao were pretty good, pretty standard. I wished for a little bit more balance, complexity, and sweetness however. Their play on some fusion asian chowder was SO incredibly salty. Our table of 7 did not even come close to finishing it. Food being overly salty was a pretty common thread throughout the night. THE ENTREES: These were pretty hit and miss as well. My lobster tail came with a pretty great butter sauce but it did tend to overpower the delicate flavor of the lobster. My father and family friend had overcooked proteins. The attempt at fusion indian food consisted of sour, overcooked, dry, and over-cumined chicken. My siblings entrees were just pretty good, nothing spectacular. THE PRICE: We ordered enough to be satisfied, but not enough to be completely full. Despite this, the bill ended up to be $300 for 7 people! Definitely more expensive than we had anticipated and exceptionally overpriced for the food we ate. read more

Spring rolls chicken dumplings (fried better than steamed which were cold) and duck and elk steamed buns all excellent. Peanut stir fry with duck was good. The spinach salad would have been much better had I not had to pick out all the cucumber and onion (due to food intolerance) which were not on the menu. I went here for a date night out. The food was surprisingly bland. We got the short ribs as appetizer- the ribs were burned and had absolutely ZERO seasoning. It was shocking how tasteless they were. We got the Tom Yum soup and that was decent. The tempura shrimp was also pretty tasty. Unfortunately our main entree was the peanut stir fry (for...28 dollars????) and it was a very normal, slightly soggy, bland tasting stir fry. This restaurant is pretty good. We like their curry and their chicken dumplings are delicious as well. The only thing is they changed a few things on their menu. They used to serve really good fried chicken but they changed it, and in my opinion its not as good as the original was. What a great experience this evening -the food and service were second to none ! Cynthia and Evan treated us like we were VIP's tonight. We started with several great cocktails - including a house made Sake Tini And a Flatliner- very delicious ‼. Add the Suret Sunset to the list if you love Aperol / Prosecco. The Phuket Cooler was savory and almost like a vodka gimlet. For starters - do not pass up and order of the Tempura Shishito Peppers( truly the best I've ever had ) and the Pork Steamed bun ( savory and tons of flavor ). Our main entrees were the scallops with a sweet potato reduction (yummy) and the chicken peanut stir fry ( so fresh). The portions are large and great plates for sharing. Finally , the chili flake brownie was tdf- light and decadent , all at the same time. We cannot forget to mention the high end Service that was helpful and friendly, yet not over bearing.
