Finally found some good pizza. I was striking out on Pizza joints in Ouray. I happen to be in the neighborhood. I was craving some pizza. I got the buffalo chicken, which is really good. Not overly saucy, good price and toppings. Hit up this place a second time with some visiting family members. Another great Pizza. I only wish that there were some cups, as we decided to have a 2 Liter soda with our pizza. Had to improvise adapt and overcome. Have yet to try their sweets, but those look pretty good too. Cute place- kinda hidden and pushed back behind the liquor store. Extra parking is available next to liquor store on the left. We walked in and was immediately greeted by Kenny who was super sweet and helpful since it was our first visit. We ordered a Medium Supreme and it came out hot and well constructed! Crust was crispy on bottom and edges, yet still soft and pillowy with that nice slight yeasty crust flavor. Toppings evenly distributed on top and had a decent cheese&sauce balance. I will come back. Prices are reasonable and I love to support businesses with a cause that supports people and the community! Ice cream is delicious with some unique flavors: bear claw , German chocolate crunch, huckleberry and peach sorbet! We went during lunch and they had a bit of a rush. Wait was reasonable for 1 person running the place. If in a rush, I would suggest perhaps ordering ahead of time. There were 3 small tables to dine inside. We had a medium pepperoni pizza, side of ranch, lime sherbet, and bear claw ice cream. It was great. Pizza was super good and the cheese was that great stringy melty. Just the right amount of sauce and the pepperoni edges had gone crispy. Seriously, cooked to perfection. The service was great. There was just one crew member working, but he was speedy and very personable. I would totally order again. Note - no outdoor seating, just some benches. Came on afternoon of 5/26 and the guy working offered us amazing service! He was so patient while we trialed many different ice cream flavors (all of which were delicious!) and was so friendly! The food looked good as well and they had fair pricing. On top of all that, what makes this business even more exceptional is that they are so inclusive with their employment and offer jobs to people with differing abilities I think it is so amazing and lovely that they offer people of all abilities the right to work and encourage patience from customers!! Following a full day of hiking/exploring at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, my wife & I were looking for a local place to eat. After checking out every restaurant appearing on our Apple map, we thought Buckaroos sounded intriguing. We had to look hard to find it and actually had to backtrack. I went in to check it out. Convinced the positive reviews I'd read were accurate, we came in and ordered a specialty pizza. It hit the spot! My wife says it was the best pizza she'd ever had- high praise from her! I agree. We topped off the evening with sorbet (my wife) and ice cream for me. Very generous proportions! Wonderful service and a very high/worthy cause - a cause we knew nothing about till we were seated! The guys there was giving the option to every other customer if they wanted the scoop on a waffle cone. Previous reviews mention the worthy "mission of this restaurant", so after checking out their website and seeing the high rating of this establishment, we of course wanted to see what it is all about. Most other pizza restaurants have me drinking water for the rest of the night due to the high salt content. Not here! The pizza is excellent, the service is top notch, and prices are very reasonable. Save room for ice cream! Their website mentioned a root beer flavor, but it was not available on the day of our visit. I came in on a Friday afternoon in a bit of a rush and the staff was so incredibly nice and service was speedy. The place is small and set slightly back from the road with limited parking but the inside is a very cute set up so you can browse the pre-made pizza and ice cream flavors in the window. Well-deserving of a five star review, as the pizza is affordable but very tasty, by the slice is offered through out the lunch hours during the week and the lack of frill adds the local charm; you're not paying for ambiance, you're paying for a solid pie or slice and it won't disappoint. Word to the wise: sometimes if the by the slice display case is low on slices, they'll crank out a new pie for your slice order and when their pizza is oven fresh, it easily outdoes every garbage pizza chain in the US.
