Such a fun pit-stop to add to your day if you're staying at The Biltmore…read more I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful and relaxing trip to The Biltmore in which we were able to enjoy this gorgeous bar on the lower lobby of the hotel. The Biltmore Bar has an elegant old Hollywood ambiance decorated with immaculate gold and brass decorative light fixtures, decor pieces, furniture and finishes that are unique to the one of a kind luxury that encapsulates the Biltmore. The service was exactly what you'd expect the Biltmore to be, exceptional! The bartender prepared exceptional Cocktails, both stiff and beautiful to sip on. We opted for a light bite since we had dinner plans with friends elsewhere, and for the first time I indulged in caviar! I am delighted to report I knew this was the best place to have a first The Caviar Deviled Eggs were absolutely sensational. The creamiest, most delicious bite I had the pleasure of savoring throughout my entire stay here. They were sooooooo good! If you're on the verge but feeling valiant, you won't regret taking this leap with this dish! Or truly another on this menu: all the drinks and bites are divine!

They were raving about how much they enjoyed the Biltmore Bar when they were here a few weeks prior, so we all decided to go together. Despite it being a weekend, we got a table right as we walked in. All the seats at the bar also appeared to be available, but were all taken within a half hour after we showed up. They had live music that was wonderful. It just added to the ambiance. Our server came over pretty quickly and we ordered drinks. They have a huge drink selection and I think they are well priced despite it being The Biltmore. I got the Heartbreaker martini for $18 and it was so delicious! It was light and fruity, just what I was looking for. My husband got an espresso martini that was also delish. Our server left us to hang out but periodically checked on us. I just loved everything about this place. If you're looking for a refined, chill environment to enjoy a drink, definitely come here.

And if you happen to stay out all night you can come back for brunch from Deli Lane next door. I heard this piece of party history is soon to close and I will be sad to see it go. Hopefully something equally festive will pop up in it's place and not a sanitized corporate brand devoid of character.

It is possible that the vibe of Sunset Tavern will not change much, but as we all know, it may never be the same. Sunset Tavern is one of those few places where it is just as good to go in the morning for a Bloody Mary and enjoying the scenery of South Miami, as it is to go at night, drink a beer and watch a live band perform. The ambiance is casual, the service is up to the challenge, and the price is reasonable. As the matter of, I went to Sunset Tavern last night. The name of the band playing was Electric Mayhem and they were absolutely outstanding. The energy and the chemistry between the band members, the song selection, and the talent of the musicians was off the chat. I have never been so mesmerized by a local band before, and I plan to go back and see them again. They perform in Sunset Tavern the first Saturday of every month. But as I was watching the band, I took a look around. So many memories within those walls. I will miss this location.

A portion of the proceeds raised through ticket sales will be donated to Make It Count, Chef Adrianne's foundation, which benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I don't know the totals right now but I can say there was a packed house paying $150-250 dollars a pop. From the moment that I walked in, my senses were on high alert. From the first sip of champagne, you knew you were entering into a night of decadence and luxury. There were beautiful women lit by candlelight... and beautiful women wearing candlelight. We were greeted with tuxedo clad little men passing out roses and delectable mini bites of food. Reality was suspended as mermaids swam in the pool. That was just the cocktail hour. The night's events continued with an amazing mix of live performers, dancers, and other specialty acts. Flame throwing belly dancers heated up the party. Women turned their bodies into canvas. And of course any night including an androgynous (leaning toward lezzie) burlesque show is a win in my book IJS. Let's get into the food... you know I am all about the grub (yes I can call it grub even if I ate in in a gown). There were several stations of food but my favorite had to be the beef served with a cornbread mash of sorts (I will try to update the post with the fru fru names of the food later). It was delicious. It felt like home. Shout out to LIttle Black Dress Vodka for being the sugar in my tea... or maybe the tea with cranberry juice as the sugar. My powers of analogy are lacking today. All in all it was an amazing night, I can't wait to tell you all about Chef Adrianne's restaurant, especially since it is right by the house.

This dark dining all benefited the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event was adorned and saturated with magnificent ostentatiousness and scrumptiousness. Dining in the Dark consisted of a seven course meal where patrons consumed their meal blindfolded. Eating blind amplifies the experience because shutting off one sense accentuates the others and our brain does not prejudge the food based on what we see. Once the food is served, the first step is to touch the food. All dishes had very enticing and interesting textures. We were then instructed to smell the food, which at times was intoxicating in the best way. The mere whiff of the exquisite truffle oil induced a Niagara fall of saliva in our mouths. We have become quite addicted to truffles since this event. Finally, you may taste the food and be marveled by the complex flavors in your mouth. In between the courses, you delighted in sexy sounds like Enigma while enjoying the touch of your dining partner, and fully embarking on and appreciating the entire blind experience. The event was unique, delightful and delectable. Her fried goat cheese and truffle oil ball were our amaurotic favorite. In addition, to the decadent dinner there was a whole slew of entertainment which included: contortionists, fire dancers, burlesque show (videos below), live band, body painting, chandelier models, as well as sexy mermaids performing in the pool.

I wasn't in the mood for a big crowd and noise. This place has a lot of big screen tv's and had a great football game on the screens, which kept me and my husband entertained. The waitress was really nice and friendly. She gave great service. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and my guy ordered the scallops. Neither of us were very wowed with the food. He said some of the scallops didn't taste as fresh as he'd have liked and they came alone without any side and sautéed mushrooms- which he doesn't eat- and my grilled chicken was a little tough/chewy. It was also a small cutlet. On the bright side, we both agreed that the sweet potato fries were delicious! Prices were reasonable for the dishes we got, but some other menu items seemed on the higher side. I hope they taste better and are better than what we got for the price they are asking, as our food was mid. Overall, I would drop in again if the occasion called for it, but this wouldn't be a place I'd made an effort to return to. I'm giving 4 stars cause the ambiance and vibe was cool, liked the waitress and staff, and it was a bit of an upgrade on typical bar food.
