Seven seas is one of my favorite dive bars. It's a neighborhood kind of Bar. They only accept cash. I love going to sing karaoke it's a lot of fun. The people that go there are usually very nice. The staff is nice and attentive some nights they have a food truck with delicious burgers. I'm not sure if they serve food at this bar because I've only ate there at the food truck but the burger from the food truck is fantastic and freshly made right before you sometimes he even does other specials like quesadillas. The gateway to west Miami is marked by a pale blue, rotting '57 Buick Special bearing Delaware plates that hasn't moved from its parking spot on Red Road in decades. The warped and rotted wood panels are gone, and so are the many hives that housed colonies of roaches and maybe a few rodents (Thankfully the one strapped to the bicycle out front is gone). The original sign rests above the entrance and hopefully it will for another 70 years. Karaoke is why you come, and it's on display 3-4 days a week. I can't stress enough how horrible some of the bartenders are here. I've come here on and off throughout the last few years and Tessia/Brittany are the NASTIEST humans on the planet. They think it's hilarious to treat the patrons like crap. I have literally seen a room clear out when these two walk in, but mostly Tessia because she takes advantage of the fact that her mom who was actually really nice , is dating the owner who is also a cool dude. This girl is going to demolish their business. Brittany is her lapdog (Tessia Jr) and Steph is hit or miss on occasion. The others are all really nice though. I have no complaints about them. It really brings the vibe down. A few of my friends and I decided to stop coming here altogether until the mean girls leave . I want to start by acknowledging that I've had some genuinely good nights at this bar in the past. It has the potential to be a great spot. However, I will never be returning after the grotesque and frankly traumatizing experience I had with one of the bartenders, Tessia. While settling our tab, Tessia--completely unprovoked--verbally attacked me and my friend by calling us "c*nts" simply because she had asked our group to leave after one friend (who is over 21) showed an expired ID. We complied without issue. We didn't argue. We didn't make a scene. We were literally paying the bill and preparing to leave when she escalated the situation in a totally unprofessional and abusive way. What makes this worse is that Tessia is the owner's daughter, and it shows. She clearly believes she's above basic decency and workplace standards. According to several regulars we spoke to afterward, this isn't the only incident -- Tessia has a reputation for treating paying customers like garbage, and management never holds her accountable. It's incredibly disappointing to see a bar with so much potential being ruined by unchecked nepotism and toxic staff behavior. If ownership continues to allow this type of treatment to go unaddressed, they're going to lose even more customers. There are too many great places in this city to spend money at a bar where you're insulted for absolutely no reason. I usually like this spot but my last visit was terrible. Came here at 2 am on a Thursday and the husky bartender lady with the shaved head (apparently named Steff) walked all the way outside just to tell us the bathroom is for paying customers only. Im a regular here on weekends but clearly she doesn't get to know the customers from how nasty and rude she was for no reason. Some guy outside told us her name and said she's weird and nasty with customers on the regular and constantly has a bad attitude. The bar was dead empty (for a reason) and we came to check the vibe. Tessia is a cancer to this establishment. She's allowed to continue to terrorize patrons because her mother is dating the owner, so she walks around like she owns the place. My husband frequents this bar. It's right down the street from our home. I joined him one night, it's a cash only bar and we were sitting outside. We ordered drinks so at one point Tessia comes out to close tabs and my husband gives her the cash he has. To be clear, my husband is in the restaurant business, we are chronic generous tippers. We are not and have never been stingy when it comes to tipping. Tessia comes out of the bar RAGING, calling my husband out for not tipping enough. I've never seen this girl in my life at this point. This wasn't a personal or private conversation that would have easily been solved with us taking out some more cash from the ATM to cover the issue. This was a PUBLIC SHAMING. Yelling at my husband in front of me and EVERYONE, with no consideration whatsoever that it could have just been the fact that he miscalculated funds since I'm never there with him and he didn't acccount for my portion of the tab. Either way, had it been dealt with professionally and privately and not SCREAMING and EMBARRASSING people, it would absolutely been remedied. We never are cheap on tip. EVER. Tessia tells my husband he's banned from the bar for 30 days. Power tripping. We leave after this altercation and Tessia, who has my husband's phone number, starts mass texting him. Like an insane amount. And in those text messages accuses him of sexually assaulting his "lesbian coworker" and that she knew she couldn't trust him after she learned that. One of our best friends who to this day has no idea where that came from. Insane allegations. It's been months since that happened. Our friend was back at the bar tonight. The same friend she made false allegations about, asked us to join her. We went, well past the 30 day "ban" for no reason and we stayed outside to not start drama because we knew this problematic and unhinged bartender was working. Our friend went inside to get me a drink, mind you I don't know this girl (Tessia) and MIND YOU, this is the very same friend she texted my husband about and accused of sexually assaulting and you know what TESSIA said to her? "Tell Tony (my husband) and his fat ugly bitch of a wife that EVERY TIME they show up here it's another 30 days on THEIR ban" I will never set foot in that bar again. And to Tessia...I may be fat, but I can lose weight tomorrow. YOUR KIND OF UGLY is for life! Your ugly is in YOUR SOUL. I'll pray for you. Avoid this place at all costs. I wanted to confront her about what she said about me and every single "regular" at this bar blocked me from going inside and said it wasn't worth it because she's just sad and angry and this is just how she validates her existence. The amount of people just explaining away her disgusting behavior just to be able to hang out there is astonishing. A local dive bar. Note at the time I went to this location was Saturday night. The location is packed and full of people, since it was karaoke night. They only accept cash no card payments. They do offer water for free which is good. Note if you want to sign you'll need to arrive early or you'll never get a chance to since there is a huge wait time. The decor was cool and interesting. Seats and tables go out fast and you mostly be standing like half the people in the bar. If you need to uses the bath room may want to hold your breath since it feels the bath room has never been cleaned. Never in the history of linear time has there been such a nexus of pure sexual power and energy in one location! I can say that this bar was probably the first place I've been where you can openly drink with white sharks, sexy people, and pictures of celebrities you thought died but live in our hearts. Almost 2 years ago, for 2 nights and 3 days, I was given a tour of Miami Hot-Spots that became known as the "I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE F&CK I'M GOING" Tour hosted by Natasha A..... My arrival in Miami on a Friday night was along the lines of "Arrival at Natasha's home... dropped off my bag... got into her car... got yelled at for asking where are we going". From this point on, my weekend was planned (without my input) for everything from morning to middle of the night, all meals, all shops, all communities, all parks and all bars. So why am I wasting your time telling you about this and not sharing information about SEVEN SEAS? Simply put... By the end of the weekend we visited 27 different establishments and the HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEKEND..... you guessed it.... SEVEN SEAS. * * * SURPRISE ! ! ! * * * We leave one of the many weekend stops, it's very late and frankly, I'm hungry, when Natasha says, "you're going to love this next stop"... We pull up to a small building that looks somewhat distressed with what I think is ocean memorabilia... I'm thinking it's one of those iconic seafood markets I've wanted to try like La Camaronera, Don Fernando or Garcia's Grill. At this point, my mouth is watering like Pavlov's Dog. As soon as you open that door, a cloud of cigarette smoke hits you like a truck... and I realize there is really loud music coming from inside. I understand now why the girls giggled at me when I mentioned food here... it's another bar but not just a bar it's the KING OF KARAOKE bar that Natasha told me about in the past... apparently they either have no SEVEN SEAS sign outside or I totally missed it. * * * LIKE A VIRGIN * * * So I don't do Karaoke but I do love to watch... been going to Friday night Karaoke Nights at Coffee District in Delray Beach for years and have yet to ever sing a single song. I will say this though.... of all the Karaoke bars I've watched, this is the only one I've gone to that EVERYONE stays involved all night long. Everyone there is there to either sing or watch others sing. Other bars, yeah, you go to watch but you end up talking it up with friends and barely even notice anyone that takes the stage. Since I don't sing, I thought it was mighty cool that Natasha let me in on picking a song for her to sing... LIKE A VIRGIN... but first she a couple of other songs... granted this review is about SEVEN SEAS, I should let you know Natasha kicks butt on the microphone. * * * HOME SWEET HOME * * * I'm still quite hungry but I'm having so much fun watching the Karaoke entertainment that I have no interest in leaving. Plus they have a full bar and a variety of beers so I'm good for awhile. I don't want to mislead and say the inside is comfortable... it can be but the place gets very packed (at least during the Karaoke nights) and there are a limited number of tables. The interior is old and sketchy... run down but in a good way if that makes any sense. It's truly a dive bar.... including the smoke... apparently smoking is allowed and well, YOU WILL SMELL LIKE AN ASHTRAY when you leave. Granted I left that night and I smelled awful... actually our entire entourage smelled awful. I know I know...it's a "dive bar" with a reputation for living up to its classification so I should not have been too surprised by the filth factor but I guess it was just a bit over the top for me. Having read the reviews, I did expect it to be grimy but I was not at all prepared for the revolting patch of mold growing out of one of the corners in the ceiling, the view of which caused one of my friends to throw up most of what she had eaten earlier that night. The fact that I was already drunk when I stumbled over from Duffy's next door and still couldn't avoid being grossed out by the place speaks volumes to me. I honestly would be afraid to see what disgusting details would reveal themselves if I were to get a good look at this place in the light of day. I can't say that the experience was a total loss because my friends and I did have a good time here. The strange mix of decor certainly made for interesting conversation starters as did the equally strange mix of patrons that even included pseudo celebrity Nick Voss (Miami contestant on the first season of X-Factor who almost made it to the semi-finals). We went on a Thursday night for karaoke and enjoyed listening to the diverse range of vocalists who took their turn at the microphone. Having some genuine talent, Nick Voss certainly shined a little bit brighter than the rest but I happen to enjoy the off-key melodies as well. The drinks were decently priced but the selection was somewhat limited and although it used to be a seafood restaurant, the kitchen has since been closed and food is no longer served. If the place back then looked anything like it does now, I can only imagine that the kitchen accumulated a collection of health violations until it was eventually shut down altogether. Though some smokers probably appreciate being able to light up wherever they may stand, the lingering smoke and the overwhelming stench of old ashtrays was something I could only take in small doses so I did make numerous trips to catch a few breaths of fresh air on the patio where we found even more intriguing conversation pieces like the old Jet Ski and various toilets that are now serving as planters. All in all, I had a pretty good time but not good enough to convince me that I should return so if the mood for karaoke strikes again, I will most likely try and find someplace new to indulge it. read more

So many things to say about this place... If you want to shorten your life by second hand smoking, be my guest. No ventilation system at all. So, I was in town on business and this place was down the street form my hotel so I decided to stop in. It's kinda small and dark on the inside. They have an outside patio that is dimly lit as well. They have board games, video games, and a pool table, and apparently you can bring your dogs inside the bar too. The problem I have is that there seems to be two different prices for people. There's the local's price and then there's the out of towner price. I obviously received the latter. the bartender turned his back to me to make the drink, and in my experience, that means you are doing something shady to my drink. He did. I am going to avoid the fluff. Here are the reasons I love this spot: 1. One of the best karaoke spots on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night. The musical catalog is extensive, the KJs are not Nazis, the sound system is excellent for the venue size. 2. Drinks are inexpensive. Don't expect to see the frou frou shit you'll see on South Beach. The bartenders are friendly and they'll keep a cold one in your hand. 3. Parking is not a hassle. No cover, no reservations needed. 4. You'll see a great mixture of characters. Some that look like ex-felons, friendly hipsters, the ex-strippers, the beauty queen, the handsome stud, the karaoke virgins, the seasoned veterans...well, you get the picture. This place is WEIRD. I used to come to Seven Seas once in a while about three years ago and came back for the first time last night. The bar was basically empty on a Wednesday at around 11. This bar is set up as if someone took a couple hits of crack, watched spongebob squarepants then went to TGI Fridays and tried to merge the two ideas into one bar. There is random nautical stuff everywhere and even more random stuff glued to the ceiling like shoes and toy story action figures. They have a main bar area, a pool table and a little side room with chillin chairs and its own stereo. The highlight of this place for me used to be the outdoor/patio area but It was closed off from both ways and locked up. I don't know for how long though. The beer is cheap and you can smoke indoors which is a plus. This place is worth a visit for sure. If you don't like it duffys is 2 buildings down and its pretty close to miracle mile. read more
