The 1st and most important part is- no hidden fees. Upstairs, Refrigerators, Safes, etc, they never hit with an additional fee of any kind. I did agree, on a couple occasions, to pay a gas charge. But the circumstances were still all too kind on their part. I had them move from my house to my office, to a storage and back to another house. It was ridiculous on my part, and I agreed to an additional $40.00 gas. They had a 22 ft truck, so they still lost money. If I would have known that then I would have given them even more. (oops.) I've always been allowed to speak directly to the owner to arrange the move. I also always request Leo on every move. Furthermore, they have never broken a single item. NOthing has ever come up missing. When I had them do a company move, changing offices, I had to request a copy of their insurance and they provided it, no problem. On personal moves, They put together the beds, the tv stands and entertainment centers beneath the big screens. They don't put together the electronic part or hang the televisions, etc. Bonus: I don't have to unpack dressers, file cabinets, etc. They use giant saran wrap and wrap it around everything, so it will stay closed. So I use less boxes. Sometimes I ask for 3 movers at a time, sometimes 2. Just depends. Small variance in price. On the big jobs it's more cost efficient. They won't pack anything. And since you're charged by the hour, do realize if you are packing and they are waiting, it is on the clock. I learned that on my 1st move. It was a "shazaaam" moment for me. Besides the cheapest, they are the best too. No frills, but an honest move that will exceed your expectations.

I called around to a couple well-known moving companies and they were all booked with no availability. My dad gave me the number for M&J - a husband & wife business (too cute). I called them right up, spoke with Mike, and he told me he could fit me in that evening as his last move. Sa-weet! Mike and his partner had me packed up and moved into my new place in about 2 hours, including driving time. His partner was like superman, a fellow just a little taller than me, carrying every piece of furniture but my mattress and every box up 3 flights of stairs. Yeah, i was amazed. Fast, efficient, friendly, professional and so humble they wouldnt even accept my tip. I had to tell him id be upset if he didnt in order for him to finally break and take it. One hour on the phone, fifteen calls to movers and fifteen rejections, the light bulb in my head went off. I remembered reading my cousin Juv C.'s review for M&J's Moving Company. I gave M&J's a call and what do you know? They were available on my move date!! Mike was very friendly on the phone and in person and he was so easy to work with. Fast forward to moving day and Mike and his partner show up and get to work. Mike covered all the paperwork, insurance and stuff like that while his partner starting moving boxes downstairs. I felt bad because we had a bunch of smaller stuff that should have been packed into big boxes, but they didn't complain once. Door to door, the move was 5 hours and they even gave us a 15% discount on top of their already low price. When I handed Mike an envelope with a generous tip, he refused, but I told him that they earned it and they deserved it. He took the tip with a smile and thanked me generously. I'd definitely recommend M&J's Moving Company. Efficient, friendly, affordable, honest and hardworking.. everything you could ask for in a moving company.

Allen Beaulieu, the rep who I made the original contract with, sold me on the idea of the "Full Value Protection" which boasted up to $100,000.00 coverage on my home goods. I paid the extra cost for the "full protection" because he assured me that any damaged items would be much better covered with the insurance. This was apparently a lie as it has been 2 months since I filed my claim and the company has repeatedly advised me that the insurance company was still evaluating the claim, and that there was nothing Graceful Moves could do until the insurance company made a decision. There are no rockets are science involved in this transaction. I paid Graceful Moves to move my furniture. I paid for the extra insurance which Graceful Moves recommended. Graceful Moves broke my table and they now refuse to make any payment despite the fact that I had the "Full Protection" insurance. Use Graceful Moves at your own peril.

They were informed that it was a small 5ft grand piano that neaded to go down one flight of stairs with a turn. When they arrived they looked at the piano and were shaking their heads. That rose a flag as I have tuned many grand pianos in my 35 years as a piano tuner. They told me they could not move it because the piano is too heavy. It was a small five foot grand. They had 4 guys there! Their Ad says no job too big! Ad says 100% GUARANTEE! They were very inexperienced if they could not do this because PIANO MOVERS do this every week in this business. I had rented a UPACK trailer to move my things and they were told to come out here to load up all the boxes that I already packed myself and some furniture. José, who is the business owner and Chase, who is one of the workers and a third worker who I don't remember the name of, but i do remember had a spine tattoo showed up to my house to complete the job. First of all I moved just as much if not more things out of my house then they did so I did not have the opportunity to stand over the man (spine tattoo) who was packing the trailer and watch what was going on, but they assured me they were professional, they do this on the daily basis and they know exactly how to pack the trailer. So I said ok. I provided five ratchet straps two of which I had to send my friend out to go buy as soon as they got there just so I could assure we had enough. I also provided my own shrink wrap as they showed up with a less than half used role and quoted me $25 per each shrink wrap roll. Further more because this load was not going on their truck they did not utilize any of their own blankets so I gave them literally every single towel out of my house and every single throw blanket out of my house to cushion my furniture and my breakable things. I had boxes that I explained to them had my great grandparents crystal collection and were very fragile / very breakable and almost every single piece of that was broken due to the negligence on the companies part of stacking boxes under heavy furniture. They also didn't even care to ratchet strap the heaviest things in : my king size bed, my washer and dryer that were at the very back of the load (by bulkhead doors) so I had to open the bulkhead doors on the trailer climb in there myself and strap them in - there were still two unused ratchet straps hooked to the wall. But everything was loaded, and I couldn't exactly see how it was loaded until the trailer got shipped to my new house, and I took the bulkhead doors off again and started unpacking things. To my disappointment I found almost every single box either dented or damaged due to the way they stacked it in the truck. My cat tower that's less than a month old was completely broken. My great grandparents Crystal collection and porcelain collection was almost all broken. I have a brand new king size bed that I've had for less than eight months that has huge scrapes on it. I have a TV stand that has a whole chunk out of it. I have a TV that's literally broken. The list goes on. Of course I was furious and left a very urgent and unkind voicemail to the buisness number I had for them and chase, one of the workers called back and tried to immediately blame it on whoever unloaded it, when I explained it was me and my family and we FOUND them that way, he tried to blame it on the company that shipped the trailer, once he realized I was not gonna be BSd or let it go he offered me 500 bucks, I said I haven't even finished unpacking and counting up what's damaged so let me do that first and I'll call back. 2 days later I tried to call back and got nothing. A day later after another voicemail was left jose the owner called back and said that they pretty much weren't responsible and that I signed the form and tipped them at the end so I couldn't have been that unhappy with the service, I explained how I didn't know then of course that the MAJORITY of my things were damaged so of course I tipped. I also provided MULTIPLE water bottles and sweat rags and even let them hose themselves off in my yard. Moving forward I was contacted again- this time by Jose's wife and was told she had looked over the agreement and wasn't sure what she could do for me but if I had proof/pictures/any documentation she would be open to reviewing it. I emailed her all the photos that are attached below and got radio silence back. I waited a few days and attempted to get in touch again via phone call and nobody would pick up, I texted them and communicated that an email was sent with proof of all the damages - still radio silence. They sent 3 guys over to move from a 2 bedroom apartment to a townhome. I have never seen such an efficient group of movers that navigated so well and made my life so easy.
