I interviewed about 6 moving companies and right away from talking with Abner I felt comfortable. Other moving companies were very persistent, trying to sell me, and seemed dishonest. Abner was very responsive and straight forward but did not contact me again after initial quote until I decided to go with him. He garunteed pick up date and arrival date (and time and was 10 minutes early each time!) which was huge for us as our move had to be very scheduled and other companies quoted us a 2 week interval (or more!) of when our items would be delivered. His crew in Houston arrived and packed our entire apartment, included disassembling basic items. They were extremely professional and efficient. Every item even valuable and breakable items arrived in perfect condition. He met us in San Fransisco 5 days later and him and two others unloaded all our boxes and assembled any dissassembled items. Again very professional and efficient. Iron back movers turned what could have been a very stressful move into 0 stress. Abner was extremely hardworking, professional, and easy to work with as was every member of his team. We hope we can use him for any future moves even though we are no longer in Houston!

We scheduled the moving date, signed a contract, and were ready to go! On moving day, the movers arrived promptly and they were so quick in moving everything! within two hours everything had been moved out of our townhome! It took them another hour and a half to move everything to the new place. Very impressed! They also wrapped certain pieces of furniture for us and disassembled as well as assembled others. Cost was reasonable as well. I would say they are more cost efficient compared to other movers we had inquired. Overall we had a good experience with iron/back movers and would use them again for our next move!

However... it was up three floors. Elvin and Milton showed up, worked quickly and efficiently. Like Samson from the Bible, or something from the Lord of the Rings, these two chaps were carrying things I did not know was physically possible. I thought I was helping, but got fucked in the end. Things were so crazy they had to come back to finish with the move. The house that I was moving my belongings too, was last minute because, I had just been approved last minute.Upon them moving my belongings in, they mest up the door, chipped certain areas of the doorway. When my belongings were placed in the home. My children and I were living in a hotel do to Harvey. The house was just a storage until all the paperwork was finalized. But I had access to the home. I would go there and unpack a little at a time. Remind you, My belongings was moved in on the Dec 4, I wasn't able to move in the home until Christmas Eve. When I finally moved in, that's when I noticed I was missing my toaster, my glass cake plate that was still in the box, I only used once. A wagon wheel that sat on my dinette table. 1 curtain panel. I am missing a whole box of glasses that belonged to my late mother. I tried reaching out to the owner about this. I did agree that he give me $300 for refrigerator and he also agreed to replace my canopy but when I brought it to his attention again, he. Tells me. He would give me $100 for everything. All of this was before I actually moved in to realize items were missing, and a whole box of my belongings is missing. It's crazy because some things that was brought into my home by the movers was not even minds. I have never used A moving company to move me. I called around to a couple well-known moving companies and they were all booked with no availability. My dad gave me the number for M&J - a husband & wife business (too cute). I called them right up, spoke with Mike, and he told me he could fit me in that evening as his last move. Sa-weet! Mike and his partner had me packed up and moved into my new place in about 2 hours, including driving time. His partner was like superman, a fellow just a little taller than me, carrying every piece of furniture but my mattress and every box up 3 flights of stairs. Yeah, i was amazed. One hour on the phone, fifteen calls to movers and fifteen rejections, the light bulb in my head went off. I remembered reading my cousin Juv C.'s review for M&J's Moving Company. I gave M&J's a call and what do you know? They were available on my move date!! Mike was very friendly on the phone and in person and he was so easy to work with. Fast forward to moving day and Mike and his partner show up and get to work. Mike covered all the paperwork, insurance and stuff like that while his partner starting moving boxes downstairs. I felt bad because we had a bunch of smaller stuff that should have been packed into big boxes, but they didn't complain once. Door to door, the move was 5 hours and they even gave us a 15% discount on top of their already low price. When I handed Mike an envelope with a generous tip, he refused, but I told him that they earned it and they deserved it. He took the tip with a smile and thanked me generously.
