They are deep and very obvious/noticeable scratches that cannot be fixed without fixing the entire floor in the house, as it's all the same wood and style. I emailed them, called more than 3 times leaving a voicemail and messages with whomever answered the phone. I was told they would let the manager know, but I never received a response from anyone. At that point I figured it wasn't worth it. Then, fast forward to a few weeks, (now 2.5 years later), we find out we had a gas leak. The People's Gas repairmen came quickly and said they were shocked at how loosely the pipes for the water heater were put together! He showed me how he didn't even need a tool to take them apart! In two small twists the pipes were off! So apparently, for 2.5 years, we have had a gas leak and didn't know and are very lucky to be alive at this point. We have a child and have many family members and friends over! We are appalled! So, not only did this company permanently destroy our floor and act extremely unprofessional by totally ignoring us, but they almost killed us due to their negligence! Literally ANY company would be a better choice.

I was surprised someone answered that wasn't from an answering service, and like that, the ball was moving! I told him I needed a new 14-in rough-in toilet. That's a non-standard size, so I was worried about getting something in a timely manner and if I needed to special order a toilet. He said he would call around to some suppliers in the morning and try to find me a new toilet. The next morning, my plumber located a toilet (believe me, 14-in is rare, weird and annoying to find!), ordered it, picked it up and installed it by 4pm. My exploded toilet was replaced within 24 hours!!! Also, I felt the quote was very reasonable for locating, ordering, delivery and installing a new toilet. What they saved me in time and headaches made it worth every penny. I thoroughly recommend Your Helpful Plumber, because they lived up to their name 100%.

He answered right away and was there the same day. He helped us diagnose the problem, hydro-jetted the line, and got the water drained. Then he told us he could install a flood control system comparable to our other estimates, at a fair price, and could start in just two days. He didn't even charge for the initial diagnostic and hydro-jetting since we decided to go with him for the flood control system. Here we are exactly one week since Omar first came out and the system is completely installed. It looks great, and I feel a huge sense of relief knowing the next heavy rain won't upend my life. They rodded a clean out they thought was the branch line. Made the clog worse. Their camera was too big to be inserted into branch line . The rod only went about 25 feet in and stopped. They tried to rod the toilet from the laundry room but end up poking a hole in side of toilet. Toilet was only a year old. But they insisted the hole was already there. They decided that the bathroom had to be demolished and replaced a broken pipe under the floor. Omar told me we fix things but we don't put them back together again. Meaning I would have to get a contractor for a whole new bathroom replacement. He said "He had a guy". Was going to charge me about $6000. Problem is the clog seems to start at 25 feet into the house which means it's probably around the kitchen area. He showed me a video of my pipes but I have know idea what this is. Totally ripped me off.

By the way, I had initially called in Dhamer plumbing to get this done b/c we had used Dhamer over many years - we live about 1/2 block from Dhamer. Although they had always done a good job on interior plumbing jobs, they completely failed on this one. We paid Dhamer $320 and did NOT receive the service we paid for. We wanted the obstruction removed - they couldn't do it. I know plumbing is expensive, but when I shell out good money for a job, I expect it to be done.

AVOID THIS COMPANY…read more I called on Monday regarding two plumbing issues in my condo - my shower valve needs replacing and my toilet is continuously running. These should be two simple tasks for even a rudimentary plumber. The secretary who answered the office phone to give me an estimated cost was courteous, well informed and friendly... that's about where anything positive ended. I called back the following day to set up an appointment and the phone was answered by a girl who put me on hold for literally every single question I asked and ultimately gave up and just transferred me to the secretary I had spoken to the day before. Clearly the secretary had been listening in because I was transferred within 2 seconds and she already knew everything I had said. Why are they making that poor girl answer the phone if she has no idea what is going on!? Then I set up my appointment for 6am on Friday. I did this intentionally because I actually have a job (shocking!!!!) and don't want to have to take vacation time to watch a plumber fix a toilet. (Might I add, the entire reason I picked this company to do the work was because I was thrilled that getting a 6am appointment was even a possibility). They asked me to text photos of the shower knob to the plumber's personal cell phone to ensure he had the correct parts on hand. I sent the photo along with a text explaining who I was and confirming that I was expecting him at 6am Friday. I got no response... in retrospect, that should have been my first clue. Friday morning 6am rolls around.... no-one shows up. Initially I thought okay well I'll give it time, maybe traffic. A full hour later I called the office number and got no answer (despite their website saying they opened at 6am... no-one was answering the phone at 7am). I then called the plumber's cell phone, again, no answer. I called back a second time to the office and left a voicemail explaining my frustration at the plumber's tardiness and how no-one communicated the delay to me. I then waited ANOTHER hour for someone to show up or call me back - NOTHING. By 8am (2 hours past my appointment time) I gave up and went to work. Finally, at 9am I get a voicemail from a completely unapologetic man saying that the plumber got sick and wasn't able to make it. I understand people being sick, but a phone call would have been GREAT so I didn't sit around waiting for hours. Then to put the cherry on top the man actually started telling me HOW TO FIX IT MYSELF. And then said if I was desperate to call a different plumber because they were too backed up and he didn't know what to tell me at this point. There wasn't even a single apology for making me wait around all morning. I'm sorry, I didn't realize when I set up an appointment for a "professional" plumber to come fix my bathroom that really that meant I'd wait around for hours only to get DIY instructions or pawned off to another company. How incredibly unprofessional!!!! I would think that a small business would live and breathe based on it's reputation and the satisfaction of it's customers. At bare minimum I would expect someone to offer to come out same day at no extra charge or to suggest an alternative solution that does not include me doing it myself or calling a different company. Good to know my business is so insignificant to them that they would rather send me to another company than try to fix their error. Seriously, avoid the hassle and unprofessional dealings at this place. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I reached out to my brother-in-law, who does plumbing, and he said it was a fair amount. Still, he lives in another state and wanted a second opinion here in Chicago. I found VanderBosch because they ranked high on Google when I asked about the job. Actually, they had a whole blog post about the service and I learned a lot. Jordan called me back and let me run down the whole project and told me what they would charge. I walked away from the conversation really wanting to give the job to VanderBosch, but Jordan is a straight-shooter and told me that they couldn't finish the job as fast as his competitor (for boring, but significant reasons). So, this competitor to the initial company took the time to call me back, listen to my issue, give me the straight facts, and all because he was so focused on the well-being of a potential customer that in the end, couldn't even book his company. Why can't everybody be like this? This is some real "city of big shoulder" stuff from a Chicago-based company. In the end, I wasn't able to hire VanDerBosch, but they have a down payment on a future customer.

I was only told that I needed to pay $1400 with giving me a 10% discount, and still end up paying $1260. My kitchen looks terrible. There's a hole in my home. They advised me that they could come back to put the kitchen back if I would purchase my cabinets and other expenses again...marerial & everything but their labor would be $2600! I felt like I've been ripped off already, I'm a first time homebuyer. I do not recommend this company if you do not want to be screwed I will not have them to come back to my home after having two other plumbers come here to ask me did they charge me $300 or did they charge me $500? I was too embarrassed to tell them what I paid! But I knew I was screwed so please be aware Every one ladies especially!!Because this is what your property will look like in the end!!! I have to hire another company to fix this horrible hole in my home! and install a whole kitchen in my apartment and also my basement unit was damaged during this process as well. I'll upload pictures of both. I haven't been able to eat for the whole weekend. It is very expensive trying to feed me and my artistic Son!
