I just had Nick come out to troubleshoot a water heater repair caused by a leak from a saddle valve above my furnace heading to my furnace humidifier causing the pilot light to go out to to the pooling water and moisture at the base of the unit. The service team was able to fit me in same day by putting me on standby. Nick was able to diagnose, stop the leak, inspect that the leak had done no further damage, and ultimately get the water heater working within 5 minutes of his arrival. Better yet, he said it was a simple fix and did not charge me, but just asked that I keep them at the top of my list for my next job! Very friendly and presentable all the way. He also assessed my heater and said I probably had about another two years to go before needing to replace, and gave me a written quote for a new water heater and to replace the saddle valve with an angle stop. The angle stop cost was a bit high, but the water heater replacement was very reasonable (just being fair). I am definitely going to reach out to them for my next plumbing job. read more

Their guy opened a clog but didn't want to wait for the whole water tank to drain before flushing fresh water to it. After checking with his boss he said he can charge me half the price as he only did half the job, but then "accidentally" charged me for the whole amount. I am jealous of those that have had positive experiences with this business. I had a technician come out for a water heater issue that they agreed needed urgent attention. The technician promised he'd work with his team to get someone out ASAP following his visit, as he was unable to fix the issue during this into this visit. He said they'd call before 5pm when they closed for the day. No call was received that day, and after leaving multiple voicemails I still haven't received a call back. Even worse, if their lines are busy they have their customer service line set up so that it sends you to the after hours emergency line even during working hours. Those employees can't even access active work orders; they're limited to only taking voicemails for non-urgent work. Given that the weekend has passed and they never called back, I take it they weren't interested in helping with my "urgent" issue after all. read more

noticed some water damage on the ceiling below my upstairs bathroom.. I started my search online for a new plumber and chose rocket plumbing because of all the positive reviews I was seeing- the reviews aren't wrong. I called in the late afternoon, the receptionist was very kind, helpful, and she was able to send a plumber out the next morning. The plumber, Geoffrey was professional, knowledgeable and patient (I had probably a million questions throughout the whole process since I was communicating the situation with my husband over text, he is the one who typically takes care of these things). He very quickly identified the leak and to my surprise when i asked if it was a possibility to fix the issue the same day he said yes, and only left to go get the new toilet/replacement parts that we ended up having replaced- he did offer us multiple options to fix the issue at very different price points which was fantastic. And has extremely clear communication with every decision that needed to be made. Unfortunately after he removed the old toilet he found how badly damaged some of the old plumbing in the floor was, and it became a much larger job than originally anticipated (due to a very poorly done repair in the past by a different plumber/company)Geoffrey still made the commitment to have the work finished the same day and spent most the day seeing this through while still keeping the cost very reasonable. he even vacuumed, swept, and removed any trash/debris from the job when he was finished. And left contact information for a carpenter (to repair the damaged ceiling) and a restoration company to come look at any potential mold issues from the leak. My husband and I are very pleased with the work that was done, and will definitely be using Rocket plumbing in the future. read more

The person I had helping me out to let in the plumber once they arrived sat at my house from 3pm to 730pm, while the plumber not only didn't show uo, but didn't even have the courtesy to call and say he wasn't able to do so. Thankfully I asked another company for their views, who came in with a mini camera and saw there was already p-trap however it was just dry. My 92 year old mother lives in a condo bldg that is 60 or so years old. The sinks in two bathrooms that sit in a hallway and a bedroom are back-to-back and both were totally clogged. After Rocket plumber Jeff tried (unsuccessfully) to power through and clean them out he realized we would have to open the wall to access the pipes. He came back the next week and did a great job accessing the pipes, cleaning out the solidified blockage, rodded, adding a sanitary T, P-trap and new clean out to a vent above the drain pipe! Well done, great work, excellent communication as I live out of town and had to manage this remotely and at a fair price which was lower than the max estimate. Louis was awesome! We had a problem with the spout in our tub backing up into the wall with water going down into our dining room. There was also a small leak in the valve leading to our toilet. Rocket answered my call and dispatched Louis the same afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the problems and gave us a quote. This is great because prior plumbers have charged by the hour which can get very expensive. Louis was professional and explained everything. When replacing the tub spout, he delicately removed the surrounding tile. So you cannot even tell. The toilet valve was also replaced to our satisfaction. This weekend I learned that plumbers are the ones you call to fix a gas leak! *Insert "The More You Know" graphic* Yes, we got a call from the renter of my old condo that the gas company had been by to investigate a leak in the building and (OF COURSE BECAUSE 2020 IS A MONSTER) out of almost 100 units, ours was the one that had the leak. The gas company turned off the gas and said, "C-ya!" and told us to find someone to fix it. I didn't even know who to call for such a repair but a quick internet search told me that many plumbers do it. So I immediately went to Yelp and started searching. A few "request a quote" searches later and the speedy Rocket Plumbers reached out to me to say they could send someone by the next day (aka, today) to fix it. We were lucky (lol) that the pipe with the leak was already IDed by the gas company and that was easily accessible in the basement so they just had to come and check everything out and make the repair which took just a couple of hours. Admittedly it wasn't a super cheap job but crucial for safety so it had to be done. The communication with the company was great and everyone was so friendly and pleasant. From the first communication via request a quote to the fella who called me this morning to set up the appointment, to the technician calling me to tell me it was all finished, the conversations were friendly and easy going. Terrible customer service. I called last night with a leak in my ceiling. They took down my information and said a plumber would be calling me back shortly. After 40 minutes I called back, since no one had called me. They took down the same information and said they had no information on when someone would call me. A plumber then called and gave me some story about another call coming in at the same time and cancelling my call. He said he could not come out that night but could be there at 8AM as the first appointment of the day. He no showed and never responded when I texted to get an ETA. Super disappointing as I was a repeat customer and used Rocket to replace my water heater, sump pump and back up sump pump. No show and no response = garbage service. read more

The amount of money the company charges for a clogged drain is inappropriate and honestly ridiculous. 389 dollars for a clogged floor drain that took 30 minutes. After asking for a discount I got it down to 319 which come to find out there are coupon discounts on their website for 79-so not even the full coupon discount. Then add on the 3% charge they add on for credit card use. This company also installed my tankless water heater and put it so close to the wall, we were unable to get the serial number off the machine without taking it completely off the wall when I had a leak. If I was not in a time crunch, I would have done my research and got more quotes. There should be no reason you charge near 400 dollars for a 30 minute snaked drain. I would avoid the company. Update: I had originally given a lower star. But the owner did get in touch with me and adjust the price to a price that was much more reasonable. He was very nice and you can tell he cares. read more

Although I did not use Rocket plumbing when my sump recently burned up I did contact them during off hours and the dispatcher scheduled a plumber. It was not an emergency at the time, no water issues just the pump. However the plumber did contact me and kept me informed as he was busy with other emergencies. He kept me posted and when we talked we determined it was not an emergency which was great. That saved me an unnecessary after hours fee. After having a recent bad experience with the plumbing service I normally use, I decided to take my business elsewhere and found Rocket Plumbing. Water suddenly stopped coming out of my bathroom faucet and it seemed like the water shutoff valves needed to be replaced. I reached out to Rocket Plumbing and they were able to get someone out early the next morning. Eric B. was the plumber assigned to my job. He called me about 30 minutes before heading over to my home, talked through the plumbing issues I was having, and gave a preliminary assessment of what the problem and solution could be. Eric arrived on time, was courteous, and made sure to wear shoe coverings in my home. We talked through things again and he gave me a proposed plan for dealing with the issue, as well as a price estimate, and discussed potential next steps if that did not resolve the issue. He ultimately ended up replacing the shutoff valves, lines, and faucet. He worked efficiently and was very transparent with what work needed to be done. When he finished the work, he meticulously cleaned up the floor and tried to leave things as spotless as possible (which is something my former plumbing service apparently doesn't care about doing). He also gave me tips on how to prevent the issue from reoccurring in the future and avoid having plumbing issues. Payment was easy and the receipt is emailed to you. Make sure to mention the $49 discount coupon from their website when you book the job. The only negative about this company is that they get so many calls (since they provide great service) so it may take a few hours until someone gets back to you. This morning I could smell sewer gas in my bathroom and knew it was time to have the wax seal replaced. I called Rocket and they had appointments open the same morning. Jeff and Joel came out, did the job, and just left now after cleaning the area around the toilet. They and dispatcher Eric were friendly, cordial, and very customer oriented. There was a $49 discount on their website, so I mentioned that and the discount was reflected on the invoice. I didn't call around for price comparisons, but as far as I'm concerned you can't put a price on customer service, so it was a win for all of us. read more

I called the company back multiple times to get an itemized receipt to have anyone make sense of it. Finally spoke with a manager who agreed that the price I paid did not make sense. I was hesitant at first because of the distance between my home in the Western suburbs and where they're located in the city, however, they made it work! I had a sewer line backup last night where dirty water was coming up my basement toilet and running over the brim. The water came up over the brim half hour after I had given up plunging for the previous hour the water that didn't go down, hence my clue as to why the main sewer line was backed up. I reached out to someone there. The dispatcher gave me a call back immediately. He scheduled a time and told me to expect a call from Mike. Mike gave me a call shortly after and told me he'd be here by the top of the hour. He and his partner, Peter, was 15 minutes early. I appreciated that. I wanted to learn about what he was doing, as I like learning new things. He didn't mind me standing there and asking questions and did so with a great attitude and a smile. In about an hour or so, he was able to not only rod out space for water to flow to the sewer, but he was able to run a tool down the line to clear the four or five root balls out of the line. He ran a camera to confirm what was down there before removing them and he ran a camera after. The bill was right, but I've also always understood the perspective of quality and value over quantity, as previous plumbers just rodded the pipe, which is simply a band-aid to cover a bigger issue, whereas Rocket Plumbing provided the quality and value. Along with what I paid, there is a two year warranty to warrant their work in case I need them to come out to resolve the same matter. read more
