Went to visit Saturday March 22, 2025 elevators are down in the first bldg. . Went up the stairs retrieved our box and pushed it down the 3 staircases . Luckily for us it was a large box with a large soft chair bed . However, it was still a hassle and they said the part to fix the elevator wouldn't be available till Thursday. The self storage business seems inherently dishonest, this place being no exception. I don't know that any competitors would be better, but customers should be aware of what type of contract they're getting into. Pros: The facility is clean, the prices seem comparable to local competition, Sarah the onsite manger was easy to deal with, and there are carts available to move your things. Cons: The contract includes a provision that A-1 Self Storage can increase the rent on units at any time. Sarah indicated that they "always" wait until 6 months and increase the rate by about 5%, with annual increases thereafter, but as the contract doesn't state any of this, it is not guaranteed that they won't increase rents whenever and by whatever amount they choose. Additionally, not all units are the size advertised. We signed a contract for a 5x5 unit but were then shown to a smaller one, and when we indicated that we'd like a full sized unit as promised, we had to re-do all the paperwork. read more

Update - this storage facility has since been broken into AGAIN after this. Thankfully nothing was taken from my unit, repairs were made pretty quickly. However, I have since moved my things to the third level (the higher the harder to get to). And have to complain about the frequent number of transients that go in and out of here in the evening. As a customer, I do now feel safe going to the unit after dark, or even after the staff has left for the day. Additionally, the hallways on the first floor of the building next to the office smells like pot (so obviously someone is storing something). In all honestly, I have zero time to be dealing with moving an entire unit and I'll just have to settle for now - but I DO NOT recommend his place by any stretch of your looking for a safe and secure storage unit. read more

The kind woman in the front made things so easy, i came an hour before the office closed and she didn't rush me nor was she rude. Her willingness to help me with any questions i had was amazing. We passed by this location numerous times and looked them up online. Price, location, and reviews said this was our best option. We were totally right! Brian was fantastic and walked us through all the options we requested and even answered questions we didn't know we had. I didn't receive my first month free or 3 free boxes like they say they offer. The manager Bryan is extremely rude. He's unprofessional, not helpful and just unkind. I stored my belongings there for 4 months and left because of him. My friend has been storing her stuff there as well for 6 month and also left due to how he treats his customers.If you call customer service to make a complaint regarding his behavior nobody ever calls back to take down the report. When I inquired online about reserving a unit, Sarah emailed and called me the next day ... ready and willing to help. When I explained that we needed a small unit and for a short term, I never heard back from her. I emailed three times with no response. I guess they do not want short-term business. I understand that it may not be profitable, but they just lost any future rentals from me as well. Not a professional way to operate. If you need a short-term rental, do not tell them upfront. We are having to temporarily store most of our belongings and my husband was super stringent on where his beloved TVs and our vinyl collection would be kept. This place is super clean, climate controlled (!!!) and really nice! It's a pretty good deal with all of the amenities. At first I did think it was pricey, but after calling around to a few places, including a certain place that says you can move in for a dollar, I realized this place was legit. The manager Brian was the one who took care of us and he was super nice and really helpful. I also like that you can pay online for your bill, and they even have an ATM-looking kiosk out in front of the place where you can go pay your bill any time as well. I haven't used it but I saw that you can use cash, card, or even a check there. Pretty nifty! read more

I've rented units at A-1 at various times over the last dozen years, and I have never been disappointed. Today, my dad needed to store some stuff, so I took him to A-1 to check it out. Brian was friendly and knowledgeable (as always). He helped my dad figure out the appropriate size unit, showed him around the facilities, and made filling out the paperwork a breeze. My dad is happy about the price, and is confident that his belongings are safe and secure. I don't know how to leave a worse review than a 1 star. If I could do ZERO stars, I would. Their customer service sucked. I was told someone would be there til 7 to assist me, I got there 6:45 and everything was locked up. I had to use the kiosk to get my storage unit instead. I couldn't read it because of the glare so all the fine print got missed. My dad and I got all my stuff in my unit and we went down stairs at 9:58pm. By the time I got my child in the car and we got the Uhaul pulled up, we tried to get the gate to open and it wouldn't. We were locked in. I called the emergency line and the lady on the phone yelled at me because she just wasn't understanding so I hung up on her. 30 minutes later, the gate opened. Now back to today, I get a phone call from A-1 storage customer service. I explain that I wasn't happy and I didn't get a SINGLE apology. Not in the slightest. He just kept saying "yea, yea, yea". I obviously HATE it here but I'm glad I don't have to deal with them anymore. Everything is in storage at the end of the day anyway. NOT HAPPY!!! read more
