Time to move on... After 3 years, it's time to find a new storage facility. I needed to upgrade to a larger unit and considered moving to a new one here, but also shopped around. After shopping around, it was pretty clear to me there were several better options in the area. The biggest decision to leaving was how rundown and gross everything was starting to look. The floors inside the building I was in are torn up and large wood chips kept splintering up. It's also just very dirty. Inside the facility, around it, and in the actual room. When moving out, I was shocked how much dust, weird debris, termite droppings, and overall filth covered my stuff. On top of that, there was a leak in our unit, which damaged a table and several boxes. When I told them about it, the lady said "oh yeah- we have a guy to help with that but he hasn't been showing up." That was it. The guy just didn't show up so everyone has to deal with leaks. She said she has a list of units that need to be repaired, so it seems to be an issue here. The place was not nearly this bad when I moved in three years ago - it's like nothing has been done to it in the last three years. When I told them that I was moving out, there were no questions or any type of service recovery of any kind. Just "OK have a good one". I asked to get some paperwork showing that the account had been closed out I was told no, but I would get an email. That email never showed up. I'm glad I decided to make the move- the overall disrepair of the place made the decision, but then discovering the leak and seeing their response really helped me feel good about it. I thought I was happy to find this place last minute but it was literally the wrong choice. I think I came across fake reviews on their own website. My friend told me their are literally holes in the door of my storage so staff can see inside. Aren't there privacy laws? He told me it was run down and it should be very temporary to store anything important here. There was a girl training the day I signed up. I was totally giving her a pass for being extremely slow. We've all had our first day on the job. Then she started standing there while he unloaded my stuff. She was just staring. Then she was making up rules. She kept saying for safety reasons, you understand? No one was doing anything unsafe. Then she proceeded to follow me out of the property suggesting that we get to where we are going safe" anyone can appreciate someone's kindness and safe travels offerings. This wasn't that. It was so odd and creepy. When I tried to pay my bill online I couldn't find my account. Finally, I got to the bottom of why I couldn't log in. The unit number on my card was the wrong unit number. Even though the lady that did my paperwork had my ID and credit card in front of her she totally botched my name. She took a pretty common name and turned it into something I've never heard in my life. There are lifts to get your stuff to the 2 nd floor. NO ELEVATORS! You have to walk up and down the stairs. Not everything will fit on this little lift. The entire experience was horrible. The place is run down and dilapidated. For the price you can get a nicer cleaner unit to keep your belongings at. read more

This review is for a U-HAUL rental. Was easily able to reserve a U-HAUL via the company website for a 9' cargo van. Had to adjust the reservation multiple times and had no problem doing so. Requested counter pickup because I had never rented a U-HAUL before and was helped by a friendly associate who got me in and out quickly. The vehicle was new and easy to drive and was the perfect size for my belongings. The associate informed me that I had 24 hours to keep the car (despite having to indicate how many hours I needed) so that was good to know for the future. I ended up needing it for just a few hours and was able to return the car same day. Pricing: $19 for U-HAUL + $10 collision coverage + $0.69 cents per mile + fuel costs. I went 50 miles round trip and paid $70 total plus $15 for fuel. Well worth it for someone who doesn't have a large vehicle! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone needing a U-HAUL in the Placentia / Yorba Linda area! read more

Recently rented a unit from the manager James, what a great guy! We are moving from out of state and just need something for a few months while we are shopping for a house, I had many questions and called him a few times and he is awesome. I never felt like I bothered him and when we needed to get out there quickly and unexpectedly and rent something, he totally accommodated us. The prices are fair and the sign up was quick and easy. Review is for their U-Haul rental service. I had to go back and ask for the furniture dolly and blankets I rented from them even after they read back to me what I had reserved. Then she hands me the blankets unfolded. The worst part is the next day I get a call saying they're charging me an extra $25 because the blankets weren't folded. These people are the actual worst. It's their customer service that is lacking. Check their U-Haul website reviews. Constantly an hour late for opening and it's everyone else's problem not theirs. Don't spend your money here. Yes on ALL of our stuff, they made holes in boxes w/ our kids clothes in our couch, you get the picture. Left our stuff for 4months while we were waiting for our house to be remodeled. I wasn't there while my husband was unloading the storage to notice otherwise I would have lost my shit & threw it on the front desk the same way the rats shit on our stuff! When my husband came home w/ the U-haul that's when I noticed. I called and notified them immediately & all she could say was, Did you purchase ins?, please hold, came back on the line said no you didn't, & Sorry nothing we can do about other tenants bringing food into facility?!?!? Wtf!? And then put the blame on us by saying "since you didn't purchase ins we can't help you. that they can't do anything?!!" I'm sorry I thought insurance was for fire,water damage or theft ? She then went on w/ a pre set liner that they probably have taped on the wall for these types of calls. Just disgusting and gross STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!! *****So far we have received a call from Janet at corporate and all that was said was I will review & possibly see what can be done. Worst Storage place EVER!! I rented a storage unit today at Lock and Leave Storage. d I was told the units are open until 7pm. I was also told if you get stuck inside after hours, you get locked in and it will cost you $100.00 to get out. I was also told that I would get a free truck to pick up my boxes on the phone, but then was told that none were available until Monday when I got there. I was also told when I use the elevator that there are plenty of dollies and carts to help move my items from the elevator to the unit. My unit is the furthest away from the elevator, so I was thankful to hear that. A little about me, I am a 55 yr.woman. I am not sedentary, and I can pick up a rather heavy box or 2, but not too many. So this evening I went to the storage facility at 5:50 pm with my car loaded of heavy boxes. I emptied my car and put all my boxes on the elevator and it went up. I met the elevator upstairs. There were no dollies or carts to be found. I went down to the office and asked the person I signed up with, where I could find the dollies and carts she had told me about earlier and her reply was, "they are in the office with me, but it is too late so I would not give you one anyway" I am closing at 6 pm. and it is 5:55 now. I said " You told me this morning that you are open 7 days a week, 7 am-7 pm. she said yes that is true we normally do but not today. I told her I just brought a load up. So thinking I am going to get locked in, and have to pay $100 to get out, I ran up the stairs and pushed all my heavy boxes to my unit, which is all the furthest away from elevator. Then I ran back down. I was in such a hurry I did not even lock my unit up for fear that I would be stuck in there. I am very sore in both respects of the word!! I want to call a manger but the only person I can talk to is the same person who rented to me. I could have have gotten injured or worse. I want my money back and I want to go somewhere new. It's rare to meet a group of more friendly people. I have spoken to and met three staff members and they were all very friendly and very helpful. Let me first start out by saying Vanessa, the girl working at the counter is the most unprofessional person I have ever met! She hung up on me twice when I called her out on my lease which she flat out lied to me about over the phone AND in person. My account was due on Feb 8th, she suspended my access to the unit on Feb 15th. My contract clearly states that you have up until the 10th day to pay late and doesn't say anything about suspending my unit. She told me the system automatically suspends it after the 5th day late, lie. After arguing on the phone with her I immediately went straight to the office to make my payment. She refused my check and said she doesn't have to accept it. My contract states unless my account is in lien status after the 14th day late, then they can't accept payment by check. My account was only 10 days late. PLEASE do not do business with these liars and crooks! The storage spaces are dirty and have no lights. Whenever you go to take stuff out or bring it back they spy on you like your up to something no good. Vanessa is a power tripping ignorant fool! read more
