We have rented our unit here for several years and we thought it was the best place to rent in Oceanside, until our unit was broken into. The bizarre way of how it could have happened only became obvious it was an inside job and not to mention that other units were also broken into the same time. Large items of our belongings were stolen and there was no evidence of it showing in the outside cameras. At least that is what we were told. The unfortunate thing was management never acknowledged what had happened. No calls, no feedback, no response. We then realize it was time to give our business somewhere else. read more

This a pretty good place to store your things. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars is that the local climate will cause your things to mold VERY QUICKLY. I had things in here for less than 6 months and came back to them covered in mold. I do suppose that is my own fault for not covering them enough, but how tightly can you wrap every single piece of furniture that you own? I just believe that it should be stressed before you store your items that this may happen. All that aside, the staff is incredibly helpful, very professional, and they will help you with anything you need. The prices are fair to the market, and the space is sufficient to move things in or out. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone else. read more

Be careful I had a beautiful piece of furniture stolen right out of my storage unit when i left it as if it was locked for 40 minutes, i came back to find that this piece of furniture was missing. there were no customers there before or after this. It seems that the staff there are very nice but dont trust them. somebody was watching me on camera in order to steal that piece of furniture so fast. read more

I had my stuff stored here for a month, but I would choose this place again. I had planned on storing at their Vista location which is a few miles away, but they sort of messed up my reservation for a space that was about 10x6. I was moving from L.A. that day so I was upset. I had reserved it under a special that would have cost me about $50. They offered me similar spaces for $180!! Big price differrence. But the rep on the line offered me a space at this location free for the error, and they ended up giving us a space about 10x15. We still had to pay about $25 for administrative fees so it wasnt "free." But for the space we got it was well worth it. Not to mention service at the desk was fast, friendly, and courteous. read more

I never thought I'd need a storage unit, but when I did, i'm glad I went with A-1. Great staff, great service, terrific pricing. Overall it was a great experience! I had to upgrade twice in the 2 year span, and each time the transition was amazingly smooth - no hidden fees, no add-on charges, just a great group of friendly folks! I would recommend this location to anyone and everyone. I can't imagine ever worrying about the security of my belongings at this location. I have rented a large unit here since July, 2011. Not only were the premises immaculately clean but the staff (Jim and Tracy in particular) went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed. When it came time to move out of state this week, Jim even allowed me to have moving containers delivered and made sure they were put in the most convenient location for me. Then he called to tell me they had arrived! There is plenty of parking and room for getting big trucks in and out. Once again, I cannot stress enough that I never had a single doubt that my belongings were 100% safe at this location. I fled Public Storage in Carlsbad when the prices continued to skyrocket for the storage I was using. I went to A-1 yesterday and got a new space, enjoyed the encounter with the owners who walked me through the procedure, and with the help of my helper Jesus transferred all my extraneous belongings (books, magazines, more books, more magazines) to the A-1 facility and am completely satisfied. I could not write enough good things about this place if I wanted to. I am in my mid twenties, so to say I am still figuring out how to do life things would be an understatement. The staff was so patient with me, I must of changed the size I needed four or five times before I committed to one. Jim was kind enough to show me all the sizes I was thinking about and continually asked me questions about what I was storing to get the right size. He never once rushed me or made me feel like I needed to hurry up. They went over all the paper work with me, David and Tracy helped me get some boxing things I needed to finish packing and Tracy even checked on me as I was moving in and swept the unit before I put my couch in. I was in awe of how helpful they were to me. Moving and packing is stressful but this staff made it as convenient as possible for me. Thank you so much for all your help!! read more

We came to A-1 after an awful experience with the storage place across the street where we originally had our reservation. Tracey helped us get a unit quickly as she understood we were in a time crunch and had already wasted precious time dealing with the rude staff across the way. In the year that we rented from A-1 we were always treat well, with respect and occasional jokes were exchanged. Mainly they really knew their clients which is rare these days. We are looking to rent again short term and will be returning to A-1 regardless of "special offers" being advertised around the area. You can not beat the security and peace of mind you receive with this staff. read more

Although I only needed to store my stuff at A-1 storage for a few months, I have nothing but great things to say! The facility at 3040 Oceanside Blvd. has been wonderful. It was very easy to obtain a storage unit and they were very accommodating in finding a location near a family members. It was also very easy when I was no longer in need of the storage unit. Every time I have been there the facilities are spotless and clean! I have always felt safe going there even by myself and as a single lady... that means a lot! I wish I could give half a star because I would. I rented a unit while my husband was deployed because I was pregnant, very sick and moved home to have surgery. When I returned 6 months later everything was fine until I started moving stuff out. My friends had gotten one load done and had one left. When we got back there was a different lock on the unit and my stuff was gone. I immediately went to the office and demanded to know where my stuff was. The people in the office blew me off and told me the unit was empty when they replaced the lock and that it had been rented to someone else already. We had been gone 2 hours max and my stuff was taken (by the employees, I think.) It was too much of a coincidence that I told them I would be moving out, started to move out then all of a sudden my unit was emptied and already rented to another tenant. I asked to see the surveillance video and was told no. I paid extra (this place is more expensive than most in Oceanside) because of the "cameras", gates and codes. I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

I have been storing/renting at this location since Jan. 2014. Up to July, I was happy with my experience. In July I had to move into a smaller unit. I signed a contract for a 5x10 unit, but when I started to physically move my stuff into said unit, I realized it was actually a 5x8 and 4 inches; it was ACTUALLY MEASURED at 5x8 and 4 inches. When I questioned this I was told that according to their records the unit is listed as a 5x10, so the FACT that is it WAS NOT the 5x10 I signed a contract for was a non-issue for them. The guy actually looked me in the eye and told me so AND THAT I SHOULDN'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY, IT WAS JUST BUSINESS!!!! Because I was STUCK between a rock and a hard place (I had 2 men I had hired to help me waiting as I dealt with this dishonest craziness) I ended up having to rent a 5x15 (supposedly there were no 5x12s in that building) in the same building at a higher cost! And of course, I now wonder if the original unit I had been renting since Jan 2014 was actually the 8x15 I signed a contract for. I do not recommend this facility to anyone, ever. I rented a storage unit here for about two months while I was in-between homes. Tracey and Jim were fantastic to deal with from the moment I walked in to inquire about renting a unit there. They were very friendly and accommodating to my situation. I moved my belongings out of my unit and into my new home today. Everything was just as I left it. Tracey and Jim seem to always be on-site. The front office faces the entrances to the facility and storage units. The staff have a clear view of everyone who comes onto the property. Fantastic! If you need a place to store your car or other belongings and you are anywhere in North County San Diego, this is the place to go. You can't get better customer service than Jim and Tracy who made our day when it wasn't going so well! We can't say enough good things about the way we were treated, as well as the protection our car had in their care. I've rented at least one storage unit here for about two to three years now, and at times had a second storage unit as well. The staff has always been very kind and courteous each time I have been there. The last time, I brought a rental truck that appeared that the last renter had backed into a concrete structure with as I dumped all kinds of rubble onto the ground when I pulled the loading ramp out. The storage management walked by several times and only have me a friendly smile and greeting. Never once did I get a, "make sure you clean that up before you leave." I really appreciated this as a responsible adult, and swept up my mess before leaving. When I had two storage units, they were in separate buildings due to lack of open spots for the size I needed. Was nice to see all my stuff still there after so many years in storage. Thank you again to all the staff at this location. 5 stars. read more

After searching and comparing many storage facility options in Oceanside when I phoned A1 I had the pleasure in speaking with Tracey in the 3040 Oceanside Blvd. location. Tracey was very personable and extremely professional answering all questions I had. She invited me to come and she would show me some of their units available and also help with the recommendation on the size I needed. I did visit the facility, Tracey showed me around and explained the pros and cons of units located in various areas of the facility. I phoned and visited other storage places in Oceanside and although A1 was not the cheapest they were in my opinion the cleanest, most secure and BY FAR Tracey was the most professional employee. You are entrusting your valuables whether the smallest of items to the largest unit they have and I believe that customer service is also important. It was about a month after my initial visit at A1 that I finally signed all my papers and moved my belongings to their facility. I have stopped by a couple of times since and Tracey has always remembered my name, unit number and she is still the same personable, happy, positive employee. Tracey in my opinion deserves accolades for making the 3040 Oceanside Blvd. location a cut above all other storage facilities!! She is a definitely an asset to your company and location.
