Very small but clean facility. Due to Covid only 2 people can be inside at once so you can't comfortably wait. You'll be forced to stay outside in the smoke or wait in your car until they are ready for you. I had shown them the coupon that was on the website. My printer doesn't work right now but they couldn't honor the website price as the coupon must be printed. They did give me a $5 off which was nice. I called the usual place I normally take my cars to, to get smogged and they were closed on Mondays! Who closes on a Monday? Anyway I googled smog near me and coupon and this placed popped up. I gave them a call and the gentleman on the phone was very nice and answered all my questions. I took both my cars in and when I got there he was on lunch. He came back from lunch early to help those that were waiting. I was in and out in under 35 mins. Two cars were ahead of me and I had two cars. The gentleman was very nice and quick. Went to this smog shop in Antioch on 12/10 for a smog. Shawn Zazi the tech performing my smog failed my car. Just before going there I had my intake air hose replaced with an after market part. The mechanic who installed the hose had a hard time with the spring wire clamp that fits over the large end to fit as it was very tight. In stretching the wire it became too loose and he put a zip tie on instead to secure that end. Shawn failed my smog because of the zip tie. I called the smog check referee and he said that the zip tie wasn't a problem. This whole issue wasted a lot of my time and expense. You would think that Shawn would've known what the smog referee confirmed without me having to go through possible having to bought an OEM hose which is way more expensive and or finding matching clamps for both ends which was problematic. Just know if you run into similar issues call the smog check referee to problem solve. My contact was very cordial and respectful. I will not return to A1 Stop Smog and don't recommend them. read more

I went to a lot of smog places in Pittsburg/Antioch to smog my 95 Suburban. They all turned me away because there is a new law that allows them to. Well comes to find out that they turned me away because they have to Dino and put the tester in the muffler exhaust. So it's a lot more work to do then just plugging a machine into the car and just reading what It says. So less work for them. Well they didn't do that here. They welcomed me and I passed smog. They welcomed the extra work they had to do to smog my suburban. I am very grateful to them I and will now bring all my cars to them for now on. They have my business. read more

I shopped around to a few places and was getting quotes all over the board, one place I went to had a coupon and when I arrived he said the price he quoted me included the coupon but I hadn't even mentioned it before I got there! I didn't like the attitude so I called A1 and the guy on the phone was super great and friendly, he gave me a price and when I arrived with a coupon for them, he didn't even hassle with me. horrible horrible service... the owner was rude. the place is very small for you to sit in 4 seats there was 3 ppl on the inside... the owner drove up and we were standing outside.. he never said a word about standing out side the building. It was not until the tech tried to back out a cord to the machine was still connected to the car. The owner started yelling stop stop. the owner notice that we were looking. the owner started yelling at us because we seen the mistake..lol... then he started yell and cussing at us for being outside. then my dad said we dont have to stay in ur office. he got mad and got in my father face threating to fail the car if we did not move from in front of the building.. my dad was yelling back we could not all fit in the inside. we were not in a restricted area just standing around... he got in my dad face saying he will kick his ass.. well that was not going to happen.. lmao. He threated to call the police and he did.. Moral of the story the owner has no customer service skills... It is a shame that you have to watch the owner/tech there.. They will fail you if you stand outside. we took is somewhere else and it passed... They are faulty... Please do not go here. read more

" He even told me to complain to the owner if i want to". I even come back 4 times to this shop for the reason that there is a pending code & told me to run 60 miles. But when i went to honda dealer and check there is no fault or pending code. Place has drastically changed for the worse ever since the shop was sold to a new owner. Not sure if the new owner is also the tech or just the tech, who is a cranky spanish guy. 1) For several minutes I watched the tech try to drive my car into the shop bay with the parking brakes ON!! My car was straining as the tires squeeled a bit in an effortless attempt to overcome the parking brakes. The tech guy just kept giving it gas. 2) I attempted to help him by calmly walking towards my car to tell him the parking brake is on and needs to be released so my car will move. 3) He got angry and yelled, "stop telling him how to do my job!" I replied ... I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't want you to break my car. 4) He told me to get out of his store because apparently he got offended when I told him there is a parking brake that needs to be released. 5) He woud not give me back my property. I had to argue with him in order for him to give me back my smog notification paper. He kept saying I don't have to give you back anything since all he had to do was give me my keys. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you trust an auto shop that does not know the basics to operating a car, then this place is for you. If you like doing business with a place that has a major attitude problem and can't admit their mistakes then you've come to the right place. read more

They only let two people in the waiting room at a time, the mechanic covered the car seats with plastic, and everyone wore a mask.
