But perhaps because it was almost 5pm when I arrived and they close at 6pm, they failed to properly diagnose the problem. I told them the car's battery light was on so are all the warning lights. It practically stalled on me at their driveway. I asked if it was the alternator and they said the battery just needed to be replaced. I left with the battery warning light still on and they said it'll turn off once I drive it for a few miles. It didn't. After 4 days, the light was still on so I called and asked if it's safe to drive to Tampa. I was told it is. It wasn't. The car stalled and stopped running and had to be towed. It was the alternator. I don't know how they could miss diagnosing something so basic. Even ChatGpt was able to diagnose the problem the first time. I took the car to another shop.

When I got there the door was scratched, rusty screws, mirror missing and the whole inside panel missing. When I asked them if this is a joke they told me that this is what I get when I order a door. Let me tell you - a full door, used from a junkyard for $600, comes with everything. What you are referring to is a shell. That comes stripped. And costs $495 brand new with free delivery. It went immediately down hill. The person on the first counter, took a few minutes to look up when I told him what I needed. He asked the type of car, I told him it was for a trailer. He shrugged and said they should be over there, pointing to the back off the store. There were three or four service men at the counters, but the one I had made zero efforts to help me. I called and told them I suspect that the controller board is bad can they test it? No way to test it but they can swap it out to see if it works correctly with a new board. Okay, I'm thinking that this shouldn't be a big deal. I even took the outside cover off the furnace and put it back on afterwards. It probably took all of fifteen minutes to swap the board yet I was charged 45 minutes. The problem appeared to be the board but I wasn't going to pay the $200 they wanted for a board when I could get one for $65. That's probably why Glenn overcharged me for the diagnostic. Unscrupulous business practice if you ask me. My mistake was in not getting an estimate beforehand. I won't make that mistake again nor will I use this business again.
