Looking to get my motorcycle key duplicated. Didn't realize how difficult this was. Able popped up on some searches with so so reviews but I really needed a spare key. Well the key had to be ordered ok I get that but they did not take my name and number to call me when it was there but just said call back in a week to see if it is in. Called back in 2 and it still wasn't in. Finally the 3rd week it was in. Went in to get it cut and took just a few minutes and a few bucks. Because the key was cracked I was worried it wouldn't work. It does but just barely. Hopefully the more i use it the better it will get. I thought the people there were very aloof and seemed to care less if I was there or was giving them business. Go if you must but just be prepared for customer service experience that is lacking. read more

Not a very helpful place at all. Brought in a blank house key to get copied, nothing special just a NFL key (#66 Kwikset style) like you can get a Home Depot. I was told the key could not be cut because it had some kind of titanium coating? And this would cause the wheels on their machine to break. Maybe they need to buy a new machine if they want to continue to stay in business. Seriously I never heard of titanium coated keys, I bought it for less then $5. They could not even tell me who in the area could help me. Not very friendly. Update: So I went to another Locksmith a few miles away. He looked at the key and cut it in less than 10 seconds. He told me it was a normal brass key, no titanium, no heavy metal. read more

The expertise of the technician, Bruce, was evident. He was fast, precise, and prepared. Mere minutes later, our problem was solved. Easy options to pay the very reasonable bill. Made a copy of my key in seconds. Apparently they can, maybe, rehouse a car key fob. Will be back to give that a go.

Should change their name to "A Unable Locksmith". The woman who was at the desk was unhelpful, before I could get out my first sentence she thought I wanted something else. They don't make my key fob, reprogram, replace...what exactly do you do? Would give a zero if I could. read more

I bought a copy of an electronic "chipped" car key here. Their prices were half of the price that other locksmiths were quoting me. It took the owner probably an entire 2 minutes to make the key and complete the transaction. The key worked perfectly. I would recommend it if you need a replacement key for your car. read more

I would give them a ZERO if I could. Very unfriendly staff, had keys made twice a local hardware store that didn't work. They recommended to go here. They made the keys at twice the cost and they still didn't work when I tried them. The older woman (I don't know if she is an owner or employee, but she should not be working with the public) made the keys and was unapologetic when I returned the keys. This business should not be around long with this level of service. What ever happened to the good ole days when businesses thanked you for your business and tried to satisfy the customer. I needed 3 doors rekeyed. I checked some on line-prices for other places but decided to call A Able Locksmith because I know they are a family owned business and have been around several years. I'm glad I did. The service fee was less than other on-line pricing, as well as the cost for rekeying each door. The service technician, Bruce was professional and efficient. Bruce noticed I had a door that was difficult to close without slamming. He fixed the door (at no extra charge) so now it closes quietly. Thank you Bruce!! I attempted to get keys made three times at a national hardware chain and every time the keys were unusable. I tried a kiosk in a different national chain...same thing. I didn't know A Able was just down the street from me (just moved into town), I went there and 2 minutes later I had keys that worked perfectly! read more

Do not use this locksmith. They were scheduled to show up at our home between 9 & 11 and did not show up. They called my husband after 11 to state they were on the way. I stepped right outside our townhome to get the mail and the new neighbors starting talking to me right by the pool that is right next door to my townhome. When I walked back to my front door I see that he left his business card. I called the company right away so that he could come right back as he had just left because I was only outside for 10 minutes at the most. He didn't bother to walk over to us and ask if we owned the home next door nor did he call my husband to say he was at our home. When I called the person was extremely unhelpful and refused to have him come right back. She said he could only come back in an hour and a half. I basically spent my whole morning waiting for him to come and this company basically could care less and was not willing to send the locksmith right back to our home when he had clearly left at the most 5-10 minutes prior. The person on the phone also told me she could recommend another locksmith - that was her resolution. Unbelievable poor customer service. read more
