Called for someone to come for an estimate for a blocked pipe backing up into the basement shower/toilet. Made it clear when the man arrived that this was for an ESTIMATE. Tech did the work WITH NO PERMISSION while we were upstairs checking with another plumber we'd called in the interim, then got pissed when we told him that we would be going with someone else and began yelling at us because he did the work already. Absolutely unprofessional attitude, honestly pretty obvious why they don't have many stars considering we were told someone would be here by 11AM and he got here around 2, and then had to put up with that nonsense. Well here goes (sorry for the long post). Broken outdoor hose bib. Called last Wednesday, told $99 fee if they gave estimate but didnt do the job. Showed up earlier than told (appreciate it but wasn't ready). Estimated & paid $875. Convinced sig other that the price was market value. Told us following morning. Took off of work. Showed up at 2 pm (after 2 phone calls). Plumber ran to home depot, said he got materials for under $30. Spent 1 hour working. Called company 3 days following asking for itemized bill. Representative finally called back and wanted to know why we wanted an itemized bill and who would view it. Hour later, got the itemized bill which included $99 service fee. I call, he tells me that $99 is for the work that was done. I questioned if the $99 is in addition to the TWO HOURS (not one) of the labor ($250/hour). He said the $99 is for doing the job (aka labor). Afyrr questioning further, he tells me the $99 is for coming out during a pandemic because they are trying to limit their jobs (24 hr company trying not to do jobs and stay in business?) I ask for a refund of $99 fee and he angrily says he will contact supervisor and call me back, hangs up. Had the job done the next day by Rich's plumbing and heating they charged me 225.00 for the disposal removal and installing regular drainage under my sink, and their was nothing wrong with the toilet except for a lose gasket. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They were 5 hours late getting to my house and that was after calling them every hour and getting lied to with each and every call. The plumber was supposed to be at my house at 11 AM and showed up at 5PM. The plumber was rude and did not want to do the work but come back in the morning. It was obvious he did not like his bosses and was very upset that he would need to start a job at 5. After speaking with the owner, I was told he would do the job but it would take him 5 hrs and the cost would be $975. It was only a small job and should have taken 2 hours at the max. A gentleman by the name of Gil followed up and sent a 2nd plumber to review the job. He then did the amazing, he fixed the problem and did not charge us except for the service call. We just moved to the area and our water heater went very late at night in our new house. We found Absolute online and due to their 24 hour service I was able to speak to someone right away, no waiting at all. There was a technician sent to the house who was there in 30 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and was able to explain everything to me in layman's terms. The water heater and other plumbing issues that were round were fixed the very next day. Would give zero stars! We had a clog on the 3rd floor and water was dripping through the ceiling to part of the 2nd fl. They came and said it was $70 just for them to show up, even though on their website they advertised 'free estimates'. Upon questioning, the guy said that used to be free but not any more. Afterwards, he used a snake equipment to try to unclog for 10mins, and that costed us $280. But still, the clog was not fixed and he suggested to use another equipment to try to unclog, but that was going to cost us $500. it seems that every new attempt they made was going to cost extra $200-300. I called for emergency service for my A/C and a tech showed up in a few hours. So far, so good. He replaced a condensation pump (retails on amazon for $43) in less than 1 hour. I expected to pay a premium for an emergency callout but he gave me a bill for $696. This is double what a reasonable emergency callout of 1 hour should charge. This was an outrageous, unethical and predatory act targeting older people. These people are greedy opportunists who have no conscience. You're better off taking your business elsewhere. Horrible company to work with. Long story short: I had to get some minor plumbing work done. I was given an estimate and was quoted $250 after the plumber looked at the problem. It seemed like a reasonable price and I didn't want to waste more time getting other estimates. I told him to work on it. He returned a few hours later. The job took about 40 minutes. He left everything extremely messy. But no big deal, I can clean up I guess. When he wrote the bill, it was $450!!! I was in shock. His reasoning, there were unexpected obstacles and he spent more time than he anticipated.. I offered to pay $250. He refused and told me that his company will come after me and will likely take me to court if I don't pay in full in 30 days. Such a shady shady company. Shame on you! read more

Wow. Just, wow. We had just moved into our home a week prior to this whole ordeal. We were having problems with the basement sink draining and I was horrified to find that it was overflowing uncontrollably one Sunday. I had called my plumber (awesome guy) but he wasn't able to come out. As a first time homeowner I panicked and called these guys, because I had read that they don't charge extra for nights/weekends. Score. I also read that they come out in an hour or less. Double score. The dispatcher guy said they plumbers would be out by 2. When 2 came rolling around I called again. "Definitely by 3". Long story short, they came around 6. Frustrating. Nice guys though...I showed them the problem and they had the answer, It was my sewer backed up (gag). He said low end was 500, high end was 600 to fix it right then. I wasn't sure if that was good or bad, but what was I supposed to do? I had a sink spewing out poop. I told him to fix it. It took him and his guy about a half hour to fix. They didn't clean up after the job (I don't really blame them, but come on..they left their towels and garbage everywhere). It came to 700$ with the tax. The following day my plumber came out and said that snaking the sewer should have run no more than 200 and was absolutely flabbergasted over how much they charged...and that they had only done one of the two traps. So i over paid by about 500$. FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. I called the place back and spoke to a very rude person who made invalid arguments about how it was more because it was Sunday, and that they are a big company so they charge more than other plumbers. Kinda hurting your business there, huh? The owner was nice though and gave us 10% off, or, their "Senior Citizen" discount. So at the end we were overcharged by only 400. Way to completely rob a young family the first week in their first house. It's not like we have a 30 year mortgage to pay or anything. Terrible!!! read more

I really need to learn to check yelp first before requesting services like these. Called around the day after Thanksgiving and they were the only ones seemingly taking service calls. Sink drain was all clogged up after over-stuffing the garbage disposal with potato skins and needed to be snaked out. The clog was further down than I could get with my manual snake. Tech came out took a long drag on his cig and flicked it onto my driveway. I had the disposal already off so he hooked up his snake, ran it for 30-40 seconds then said it was probably fine. He left without reattaching the disposal or even TESTING it to make sure it was freed. I put the disposal back together and ran the water. Within 10 seconds it was backed up so we had to call him back out. He shows up clearly annoyed and flicks a 2nd cigarette into my driveway. He attacks the clog from the bottom up using an access flange in my basement. Rather than put a garbage can down there or something to catch all the clogged up gunk he just runs the snake until the nastiness pukes out ALL OVER my basement. The tech then packs up his gear, complains about getting his 'nice jeans' dirty and leaves the giant pond of backed up nastiness behind. Runs the sink for 20 seconds and bolts out the door. We called the company to explain what happened and after sending them some pictures of the disaster area the tech left behind they offered to either extend the warranty on the freed up clog or give us a free snake service if a different pipe gets clogged. There is no way we are calling these guys again and letting them in our house. The tech was unprofessional, sloppy, unprepared. He did not even bring his own tools and had to use mine - Including my plunger. I mean, what kind of plumber shows up to a job in their 'nice jeans' and doesn't even bring a plunger?!?! I was very nervous due to the many bad reviews but I am quite happy with our experience. The guy we dealt with on the phone wasn't helpful but I can let that slide. Our hot water heater needed repairs (pilot light just would not work). The price was a bit high for the necessary part; but we recognize that it was a Saturday and we got same day service, so it was worth it. The technician Steve was very polite and took the time to explain everything to us and showed us some tricks to try should our pilot light go out in the future. When our furnace caught fire in January, A Absolute quickly and professionally gave us an estimate and installed a new hybrid heating and cooling system in our home. The tech who installed it Danny was awesome. The only thing left to do was for them to come back when the weather got warmer and put the free-on in the system for the AC AND we had to pay our township for the permit and inspection. Since the first week in May (as of today, it's been a month plus a week), we have been waiting for Absolute to come and finish this work. First, they sent a tech who had no clue how to work on a hybrid system. Then, they sent another tech who got our AC to work but found an issue with the wiring such that now we have AC but no heat when previously we had heat but no AC. It seems that the ONLY tech on staff who knows how to fix our system is Danny!!! Since that realization two weeks into trying to get our system to be fully operational back in May (it's now mid June), we have repeatedly had them schedule cancel our service appointments OR do a "no call, no show" literally 2 - 3 times a week for the last 5 weeks. Once when I called to express concern about how we've been treated the male customer service rep hung up on me -- after pushing back our appointment for what then was the 4th time. We're now up to #9. On Friday, our unit failed its plumbing inspection because of a missing valve. We have one week to get it fixed before the re inspection. Yesterday, Absolute once again promised the tech would be at our home by 8 am. By, 5 pm, it was another no call, no show. Fortunately, we had previously scheduled to have Danny come out to work on the unit to address our initial issue (prior to having the inspection done). So we were sure someone would come today to fix both issues. Incredibly, just this morning, their dispatcher called at 8 am saying Danny was on his way to the house. At 10 am I called for an update since it's been a challenge to have someone there every time they've promised they would send someone at which time they ONCE AGAIN PUSHED OUR APPOINTMENT BACK to Friday. Others have said how horrible their customer service is. For us, they were awesome when it came time to do the initial installation and take our money. However, since then, it's been infuriating and frustrating to be repeatedly be pushed off, ignored, dismissed and left in the lurch when we are owed these two ALREADY PAID FOR services that were included in our installation costs (the fixing of the improperly installed gas line AND the fixing of the electrical issue preventing our system from providing us heat and AC like its supposed to). I hope this helps others in some small way. If we ever get our system properly fixed by them, I'm happy to update this review and say so accordingly. Had a toilet issue, call Absolute as I had used them before with very good results. This time was very different. Came out the next day told us the problem and price which was a good price said they would be back that afternoon to put in a new toilet. Call to say that they were running late could they come back the next morning, I said OK. Called the next morning to say they could not come till the afternoon around 3:00. Five o'clock a person show up say he need to look at the toilet to make sure he picks up the right one. Comes back the next day puts it in I I come home that evening to a leaking toilet. I recently got repairs done by this company for 2 leaking baseboard heater pipe couplings and one rusty water inlet joint for a hot water heater. The repairman came promptly and I am happy with his work. But the price quoted was very high for the work done, 1 hour of actual repair work, 1 hour to get parts and tools ( 1 ft copper tube, 1 copper/brass pipe joint, 4 plastic tube cramps and a cutter, a cramping ranch, brow torch and soldering materials). So for max 2 hours plumber's work and $20-50 parts cost, I got charged for $650, which seems a rip off pricing. I got it done for the quoted price as I did not want to go through more estimations from other companies. Yet I think their pricing was too much for the non emergency problem. With this experience, I will think twice before I call this company. read more

I had a minor toilet issue that I had called them for. First of all, they are not 24/7 as falsely advertised. The lady on the phone, when called at 10pm, said the soonest would be 10am next because they are busy with emergencies until then. Secondly, 10am to them translates to post 6pm. When I realized this, I decided to cancel. The same lady on the phone from the night before said "its a weird day, that's why we're running late." I wish I had her name so that I can post it here on yelp. I called Royal Pro, which only does jobs in Hoboken. They got to my place in two hours, fixed the issue, and charged a good price. We had a minor hot water heater issue. Technician noticed a carbon monoxide pipe that was unattached leaking to carbon monoxide into the basement. I was overall pleased with the work provided by A-Absolute Constrution. As it turned out my thermostat died and unfortunately it was a holiday weekend, it happened on a Saturday and they also didn't have a replacement thermostat on the truck, so I waited yet another very cold night.
