Hired this company to clean my blinds. Spoke with Jackie and she was beyond unprofessional. They charged my card in full for the cleaning. Told me they were delivering my blinds on Tuesday and "forgot to load them on the truck" and can't deliver them until Friday. They made NO accommodations to correct their major mess up and refused to offer a compensation or price adjustment. Will NOT be using this company again. Do not use. I would give them negative stars if I could! My rug came back with multiple stays on the back. When they picked it up there were NO marks anywhere. And the delivery guy, who is beyond rude, tried to tell me that he picked it up that way. Pure liar! read more

We had a West Elm rug cleaned that was about 2 years old and used the home visit service, which subsequently stained the rug with orange spots. They told is that they would fix it free of charge, but long story short, once it got to the shop we kept getting told we owed money. The final straw was being yelled at over the phone for not agreeing to pay an additional fee. We finally picked it up, instead of receiving the delivery we were owed. I'm sad to say that the rug STILL HAS ORANGE STAINS and I'm out a couple hundred bucks, not to mention the cost of a very nice rug. read more

Absolute ripoff. They said they could clean my rugs, charged me $600 to do so, and then, when they came back as stained as I gave them, got belligerent, called me a liar, and hung up on me. The woman on the phone said that when Sam told me, when he was here, looking at the rug, that washing the rug would fix it, I should "forget that conversation" because it wasn't in writing. If i could give a negative stars i would. Heres what happened: I contacted them online for a quote. Very clearly, i asked for just a quote. The person responded and said they can't give me a quote for a rug cleaning unless someone comes to the house to look at it. I said fine. The person came, barely looked at the rug and told me they had to take the rug to the shop in order to get a quote... I said fine again. At this point they have my rug and I have no quote. Days go by and I hear nothing from them so I call them and ask whats the story. The person said they'd have to get back to me. A couple more days go by and I get a call and an email for a quote that was out of my range. I said so and she said ok we're going to have to figure something out then and they'd call me back. Up to this point, I'm fine with all this but keep in mind they still have my rug. Finally the woman calls me back just now and says that they didn't know that all I wanted was a quote - mind you, FROM THE BEGINNING, all i've EVER ASKED FOR was a quote. So I said that's absurd and she said she needed to CHARGE ME TO BRING ME BACK MY RUG. They TOOK MY RUG, gave me an out of budget quote, and then tried to EXTORT MONEY from me to bring it back to me. I used A And B carpet to clean my shades. They quoted me a price and stuck to it. They came on the agreed date and removed 5 shades and 1 blind. They did a great job cleaning them and restored them to a bright white like new. They came back and installled all of them back on the windows. I would highly recommend this company. I just had 3 area carpets cleaned by A and B. It was the first time in 3 years that they were cleaned so needless to say they were not in the best condition. One of them had a pet stain. I expected them to come back cleaner but not as clean as they did. They look absolutely new. And there is no evidence of a pet stain anywhere. I used to use Clines but those days are over. A and B did a much better job and the service was excellent. Sam did all the lifting and schlepping. I had it in the back of my mind that I would probably need new rugs soon. Not now. I am shocked, to say the least. When a customer is dissatisfied, a decent company apologizes and attempts to rectify the situation. Not only did this not happen, Sara called me on my cell phone and THREATENED TO SUE ME if I did not remove my first negative review on Yelp, repeating over and over that the contract said "no refunds." I have never experienced this kind of treatment. For the record, Sara, I gave you a negative review (my first, by the way) because 1.) Your company did a bad job (my shades were still dirty when they were delivered and I paid quite a bit to have them cleaned) and 2.) You have given me the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I think people need to know that this is a company that threatens to sue people who express dissatisfaction with their services. I hate to write a negative review but feel others should know of our experience so they can make a balanced decision. We had sewer water damage to our FLOR carpet in the basement from the neighbor's house and called them to come and clean the carpet. They were the only company who could come out the next day - two others would be 2-3 days and we felt the carpet would be ruined by then. So far so good. They came, were very friendly, even chatted a long time and we felt based on the reviews here and what we heard our carpets were in good hands. We also like that they used organic cleansers as we have pets and four children. While getting our basement carpet cleaned, we thought we might as well get the FLOR squares in our living room done. They took both carpets and told us it would be ready after one week, maybe a bit later. Two weeks later I called them to be told it would be another week. So three weeks later they brought back the rug squares wrapped up in clear plastic and tape and a worker set them in our hallway and left - the man who had first helped me stayed in the van. A bit later than we'd hoped but we were happy to have them back - that is until I opened the plastic. Immediately I was hit with a wave of stench from the upstairs carpet tiles that had been perfectly fine before cleaning, just a little soil and a few tiny spots where some tree sap dropped last Christmas. They smelled like a bucket of foul mop water from a janitor's closet AND the carpet tiles were still wet. They had stacked them with carpet sides together and I started taking them out and laying them around on the floor so they could air. Pretty soon the whole house smelled so horribly I had to shut the living room doors to keep it contained. I also noticed my hands were starting to burn and feel rough and after checking the basement tiles which were not wet or foul but smelled like cleanser, I washed my hands. When my husband came home he opened the living room door and the half the family promptly got headaches and felt sick. He put the tiles outside to air and we phoned the company. Ironically, the basement carpet flooded with sewage that they cleaned was completely dry and only had the strong, caustic cleanser smell, not the rotten janitor mop smell. We spread them out to air in the boiler room because the smell of it, while not as noxious, was still too strong to re-install in the room. We called A and B and got a woman who was very apologetic and said she would send someone out. The next morning the man came and told my husband he was not going to smell every carpet tile, clearly our dog had peed on them and this was what was causing the smell (Excuse me? NOT true - she has never at any time peed on any of the tiles) and we had not paid for urine treatment and that if he took them back he wasn't going to do anything with them anyway except hold onto them for a few days and then return them. My husband was incredibly insulted by this accusation and was speechless with disbelief when the man went on to allege we had put the carpet side next to the backing (not something we'd never done - only opened them and laid them on the floor and then took them outside) and it was the backing that was touching the carpet that was causing burns to my skin, not the caustic citrus-based cleanser residue. He told my husband to put them outside to air if the smell bothered us so much. At this point, my husband wrote him off entirely and the whole experience as a nightmare. It is now four days later and the carpets are back inside because it is supposed to rain - still smelling just as bad and now dry and stiff from the cleanser residue. We are now deciding if we want to spend another $250 to clean 30 tiles, rent a carpet cleaner ourselves or just throw them away and buy new ones. We had the same carpet cleaned by a different company once before and had no issues at all, it was slightly damp after the cleaning which took place in our home, not at an off-site plant like A and B, and there was no smell. Unfortunately that company was one who had a three-day wait. Next time we will wait and never again will use A and B nor can we recommend them for cleaning carpets. UPDATE - we had Stanley Steamer come and clean the carpet tiles and they agreed, they had most likely been stored wet in the bags and become mildewed - especially since our other FLOR rug cleaned by the same company at the same time was fine and not wet or smelly. They steam cleaned them on the spot which removed the citrus residue and the heat got rid of the musty smell. So we paid twice, but at least ended up with clean carpet. read more

We live close enough that we didn't even bother to call -- we just walked over with our large area rug that our dog had [ahem] personalized and that I just couldn't get clean... There's a sign on the office door/window saying they are open by appointment only, and upon calling the accompanying number, the owners came right out, assessed the damage, and quoted a (very!) fair price. They called us when it was ready (2 days) and our rug now looks and smells brand new (smells better than brand new, actually). We'll definitely go back, maybe even annually/seasonally with our other rugs, it's that reasonable (I know, right? I've never regularly deep-cleaned a rug in my life, but I can see it now.... ;) read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. I tried to use them once, only to have one of their representatives come to my apartment and give me a lecture about moving pieces of furniture and other items so his company could clean my carpets. The second time, I had a "conversation" with a lady regarding an estimate for cleaning my sofa. She had a nasty attitude. Aand B Carpet NY cleaned my couch in July, 2014, and did an absolutely phenomenal job. I had bought the couch in 2005, and this was the first time I had it cleaned. The couch was extremely dirty and stained, but the gentleman who painstakingly worked on it made it look brand new. I was incredibly impressed with the work, and the cost was reasonable. I would not hesitate to use them again when the situation arises. I give them my highest stamp of approval. read more

I would give it no star if I could. They came in my house to clean my sofa very loud and disrespectful and when I saw that had to ask them to leave before they start. And sure they were not happy about that had to call the police till they finally left my house. I am so grateful to these guys. I called them on Wednesday to clean my large living room area rug after a virus had struck my house and I was paranoid about every surface. They quoted me from photos and measurements and came to pick up the carpet same day. I begged to get it back soon as I have a 1 year old and that is her main play area. They promised it would be back on Friday between 2-4 pm and would receive a thorough and non-toxic cleaning with organic aloe based cleansers. They called me Friday morning saying that they were in the neighborhood and could bring it to me right away if I was available. I work from home, so that was no problem. The carpet looks and smells clean and is only ever so slightly damp. The only weird thing is that I had actually called Brooklyn Area Rug Cleaning and the people that came were A&B Carpet and Rug Cleaning. Not sure what the deal is there but whatever, the end result was good. read more
