The installers, gentlemen all, were professional, respectful to my needs, friendly and punctual with the scheduled appointment time. Efron and Alex did an excellent job laying down my new kitchen linoleum and left the job site spotless. Every sales person that I encountered was mean and unfriendly. I asked someone if they could help me figure out the dimensions of a table. The employee looked offended that I even asked for help and meanly told me that they don't do that for customers, and that I could take a tape measure if I needed it. Not a huge deal to take my own dimensions, and they even have paper tape measures on the wall. The attitude was just not needed. In the rug department I asked another employee if they could unwrap a rolled up rug for me to check out. They literally did not say a word, glared at me, and continued to glare at me the entire time that the rug was unrolled. When the rug was finally unrolled it was too small. I liked the rug and really wanted to find out if it was available in a larger size (usually rugs come in many sizes) but was legitimately afraid to ask the employee any other questions. Not sure if this was a case of the Mondays, but this HomeGoods really needs to hire some friendly and helpful employees. First of all, people come to me because of my deep knowledge of surplus equipment and the market value for key components needed to launch insurrections. And people go to Baseer's because of their knowledge of the finely woven market. But here's another even better reason to go. It's a family business. And the best businesses are a family business. Your first time being there you may see Baseer's wife. May even see their kids studying and talking. And then what you should also know that you won't learn in an ad or elsewhere is that Baseer goes the extra mile. When I called late on a Saturday after he had left the store and closed it, when I was in need of the carpet for that evening, Baseer heard it in my voice and went back, got my trimmed and cleaned carpet and brought it to my home. Wow. Now that's Customer Service at its's best. Not some 1-800 treatment. It's like, when I asked my friend, if the Chinese takeout restaurant down the block from his store was any good? He said, "I don't know. But the same family has been running it for more than 10 years, so it must be pretty good." And that's all you need to know about Baseer's Rugs. The same family run store. I took three Persian rugs to this store for cleaning. Two came out fine, but one was returned with…read moreripples (see picture). I left the rug on the floor for a few weeks hoping the ripples would settle, but they did not. I asked Baseer to take a look and fix the issue, but he denied that the rippling had anything to do with the washing--which is simply not true, as the rug was perfectly fine beforehand. He then charged me an additional $175 to "fix" the rug, but he was unable to do so. The rug still has ripples, and now it is also stretched out of shape (see pictures). When I confronted him about the poor quality of work, instead of taking responsibility, he repeatedly accused me of lying, raised his voice, and even said he never works with people of my background and nationality. This was despite the fact that I had already paid for his poor service and was only voicing a legitimate concern about customer service. To be fair, Baseer's prices are reasonable, but that is probably the only positive thing about his business. Unfortunately, the rug in question had deep sentimental value for us, and now it has been ruined. All he did was accuse me of lying while charging me for services he did not properly deliver. Absolutely terrible customer service. Stay away at all costs.
