Horrendous service, completely dishonest brand. After my contractor hired them, it took me 10 months to get them down to repair a head that didn't pop up, and to move 2 heads into the property line after they installed them way out (one of them being basically behind a neighbors house). When they finally did show, they had the gall to try to bill me $1,000 for that. After making it clear that in every single phone call before I made it clear that I do not agree to pay for repairs, and it would be covered under warranty, they continued to harass me to pay for "opening", which I also explicitly said I will do myself, and do not need them to do if they intent to charge me. At this point, they claim they will be sending the bill to collections, despite me never hiring them, or requesting them do any services that come at a cost to me. When I got out to check the damage, he and his wife threatened me and eventually fled the scene of the accident. Had to call the police and chase them down. Not sure what that says about his business practices, but I wouldn't want to find out. read more

A&C Sprinkler - Irrigation Near Me - Toms River, New Jersey

I wrote the following letter to A & C Sprinkler in October of 2024: To whom it may concern. I have been forced by circumstance to register my extreme dissatisfaction with A & C Sprinkler. That dissatisfaction first manifested several months after the sprinkler system was installed, when we discovered that our basement had flooded. Upon investigation we found that the basement sump drain line had been severed by the trenching equipment during the installation. That would not have been a problem, if the installers had informed me at the time, rather than secretively disposing of the one foot section of 4" PVC line that they had torn out and then burying the damage. I fixed it myself and let it go at the time. Three weeks ago I had a lawn specialist aerate and seed my lawn. While attempting the next watering, we discovered that the aerator had punctured a small section of the sprinkler line that had been installed only one inch from the surface. When I called your office to arrange a repair, I was informed rather condescendingly that the sprinkler line could not possibly have been installed one inch below the surface, as all sprinkler lines are installed one foot below the surface. I offered to send a photo, but I was advised that the technician would make a determination when he had a chance to inspect it. The next week when the technician arrived, he acknowledged that the line had been installed only one inch below the surface. He then probed with his shovel a foot or two up the line from the damaged section and discovered a "root' below the line. He declared that that was the reason the line was installed that way, and that the installers had absolutely no choice and I therefore would be charged for the repair. This despite the fact that the depth below grade at the "root" was two inches lower than the shallow section a foot or two away that was damaged. Your technician is a good "Company Man", but he must have a low opinion of the intelligence of your customers. He made the repair, informed me that the line could not possibly be buried any deeper (because of the "root"), pushed the line to the bottom of the shallow trench that I had already dug to expose the damage, and proceeded to fill in the trench before I stopped him and told him I would finish the rest. After he left, I pulled out the "root" with one hand. The "root" only extended into the trench as far as the sprinkler line itself, and had clearly already been severed by the trenching equipment, presenting no impediment to a proper installation. I then dug the trench to a proper depth and re-buried the sprinkler line myself. Given these facts, I hope you will agree with me that your company did a less than professional job during the installation, and that we deserve a refund of the $193.26 repair fee. Sincerely, etc. Update: we received no refund, or even a reply, and switched to another company. When performing turn on services this month, a very knowledgeable technician noticed several further deficiencies in the installation, such as tying into a 1/2 inch line far away from the main line and using undersized lines to feed the distribution system and using sprinkler heads poorly suited to the available pressure. Well, $3000 dollars later our chronic problems with pressure and sprinkler heads failing to rise and irrigate properly are finally over, no thanks to A&C Sprinkler. read more

We have used AC for 7 years since moving to our home, they were contracted by the home builder. Very good service at first . . but their service has gone down hill since. We used to get good times for the opening service, now we are lucky if they show up before Memorial Day with no flexibility. So this year, we contracted them again, but couldn't wait since May was warm and we had planting done which needed water. I called twice to see if they could accommodate earlier (one day in early May they were literally on our block)... "nope sorry". That said, we turned the system on ourselves and it was running well for 3 weeks until our appt on May 20th. We kept the appointment since we already paid Tech arrives, and I told him "system is on, I did it myself... not your fault but your scheduling team had no flex to accommodate, so please just check to make sure the heads and system is working" The service tech (who was nice, and to be fair we never had problems with their demeanor or kindness.. techs always nice and respectful over the years) went out and did his thing and then knocked on the door 10-15 mins later saying all looked good. Fast forward to today, 4 days later... and I notice the daily running of the sprinklers is not happening. Hmm.... coincidence it was working well when I turned it on, A&C comes, and now its not!?! . . So I go out and look, and what do you know, during our paid for professional service, the tech turned off the valve at the backflow preventer so the water wasn't flowing to the system. You would think a tech pro would know that a value turned so its NOW perpendicular to the pipe is going to turn it off. On that note, time to end the relationship. 3 good years, 2 ok years, 2 bad years . . Spent too much time myself this year given we had a contract, and got ZERO value out of it. read more

This companies incompetence starts at the top with the owner Adam and then gets worse as it goes down the line. The field workers are lazy and don't know what they are doing. The guy showed up and told me my well was broken and unserviceable at 8am. Literally just left. I had the well and sprinklers running myself in an hour. The office staff is rude, has no idea what is going on, and are incapable of answering the simplest questions. They also started ducking my calls when they couldn't answer my questions. Which leaves me to the owner Adam. What kind of company is this guy running? By far the worst company I've had to deal with. !!!! Stay away from this atrocious business!!!!!!! read more

Do not use these people. They are terrible. The technical staff knows absolutely nothing about irrigation, and their call center staff knows even less. Additionally, if you are an existing customer, do not give them your credit card, as they will charge it without your prior approval. One star is too much! I called in Feb for them to come out for turn on and some work. They gave me an Appointment for April. They also charged my card for the service before they even came out. The serviceman huffed and puffed that I needed more work than he can do today. (The company was previously informed I needed work) He didn't turn on the sprinkler's and barely looked at it and estimated $800. I called the company the next day to inform them I could not afford that right now. Since he did nothing I would like a refund. Customer service told me NO REFUNDS! When on the website it says free estimates. They took advantage of an old woman who lives alone. Def not trustworthy. Very disappointed. read more

LlA very long customer I've been that will never get my business again. every piece of property I've owned they have been my go to sprinkler experts. I'm in middle of selling my home and the co inspection failed because they never closed out their inspection. all They have to do is re open the permit and close. I paid the 200$ for the permit so the money ain't the problem. The problem is they installed 6 years ago and never said a word that I needed to close permit or that the permit is still open. And they are dragging there feet with such a time sensitive manner "I mean a lawn sprinkler system that was installed in a brand new house 6 years ago is gonna hold up the sale of my house." This is an excellent company! They fixed my backyard sprinklers after the pool installation ripped them out. They also put my zones underground, instead of mounted to the side of the house. They come back whenever I need, if the sprinklers aren't hitting the right area. Their customer service is fantastic. I highly recommend them for any of your irrigation needs. read more

I have always used A&C Sprinkler at my previous house. Never had an issue before. So when I moved to a new house and was looking to get sprinklers installed in my backyard and sides of the house, and a well. I naturally wanted to get it done through this company. The experience with A&C Sprinkler has been horrendous, to say the least. From the beginning of the process, I was told by the owner, Adam, that company will provide updates especially once the permits of the wells have been passed. I met with the owner for a quote sometime in July. After two months, I did not hear anything from A&C. I had to call for updates constantly. Suddenly at the beginning of October, I received a call and text from the electrician to come in and adjust the system for well and the sprinkler system. I had no idea about the permits being approved. I called the office. The Office was not sure. In summary, I did not receive any updates. On the day, my well was supposed to be drilled. I received no call from the office about installation and drill time. I had to call the office for a time. The office told me, the drillers would come between 8 am to 11 am. Then, they would install the sprinkler system. No one showed up. At 11 am, I called the office, they had no idea when the well would be drilled. Suddenly, A&C felt no responsibility and blamed it on the well drilling company. The last time, I checked, I was writing the check out to A&C Sprinkler LLC. As a customer, I don't know what the relationship is between you and your contractor. That is not my business. The company showed up at 2 pm, the well drillers at 3:30 pm. I was told to stay home. I wasted my entire day. The company felt no regret for inconveniencing a loyal customer. No apology from the owner. The issue didn't stop there. My well did not pass the health department inspection. I have issues with my front sprinkler system, now have water leaking out of my driveway for the past week. I was told to stay home when the company comes to fix it. The company has not shown up to fix the issue especially after scheduling a time between 9-10 am to fix the issues. Apparently, they couldn't fix the clay needed to fix the well issue., but they still had another issue to fix. No one called me to let me know. So disappointing. Absolute lack of consideration and respect for their customer's time, lack of communication, and no accountability. I never expected to have this experience with this company. The sad thing, is that I moved into a new construction development. If you do good work, there is an opportunity for more business. But it seems like A&C does not want more business. The woman who answered the phone was NASTY, RUDE, and ARGUMENTATIVE. I will NEVER use this company again. There are too many companies to choose from. I demand polite and courteous customer service. I hate to be that guy, and I am typically not. I renovated my front and backyard and hired A&C Sprinkler on 9/6/23 in Toms River, NJ, for the new work. They were not the cheapest, but they were knowledgeable and friendly. I had 53 Abbervites installed plus more plants around the home. They installed 2 new zones and adjusted the rest of the system. Where the Abbervities were planted, they came after and installed a drip line system as recommended. in April, the last 3 closest to the start of the drip line were browning, but the other 50 are thriving. I thought 3 out of 53 was a win, so the landscaper came out to replace them, and the ground is saturated after this week's heat wave. I just called, and they told me I would need to pay a service fee for their guys to come out, but the hardware would be guaranteed. That was a tough pill to swallow after paying for the job less than a year ago. That being said, I hope the owners read my review and decide to help me out, but if they don't, this is just to raise awareness. read more

I have been a customer here for over 10 years. I called to see if they received my check to set up my opening and because I didn't send it before March 1st they aren't accepting anymore contracts. I'm sorry, never had a deadline before and this year my husband was injured and is out of work and we only have one income. Thanks for nothing, so much for being a loyal customer. I am extremely frustrated after being a victim of what seems to be a bait and switch tactic at most or sheer incompetence at the least. I recently called to get a quote for installing sprinklers after being solicited for a "promotion" and got a guaranteed quote of $800. After the work was done I was told that I'm being charged $1200 because my yard was bigger than expected. Ironically, this happened to another neighbor of mine with a smaller yard. My immediate neighbor with the same size yard got the $800 quote as well which I'm sure will be switched after the fact. I called and was told that my development cost more. I initially gave my exact address and development and I was still informed at the time that it will be $800. I have since notified all the neighbors that their company cannot be trusted and that their quotes are not accurate. read more

We have been using A&C sprinkler service for many many years. A new owner had taken over a few years ago and they were not as responsive as the original owner. The original owner, Adam, is back now and has been for the last couple of years. Their service is top-notch and we are very satisfied with their company. Looks like their terrible service issues continue. I had them out to run a drainage pipe around my garage and under my stone driveway. They ran the pipe fine but took no care not to wreck the driveway, part of my lawn and my driveway border. Additionally they replaced the stone around my garage with a different type then was there already so that has to be remediated. They don't return calls.....stay away!!!!!!! read more

Have a problem with getting a response from this company. They completed a drainage problem; however, I am still having issues. I have contacted the office numerous times for the owner to contact me and after 3-4 attempts, he has still not responded. Their paperwork indicates work is guaranteed. Worst customer service ever! I am in the process of selling my property, therefore, I need a letter stating the maintenance of the sprinkler lines done by A&C throughout the YEARS. Ursula "Supposedly Office Manager" picked up the phone and told me that she is so busy she can not write a simple letter until a month from now. In addition, she said that she is overwhelmed with the quantity of work she has to do while the owner is vacationing in FL. In addition, she shared that she is not feeling good and me calling her is getting her aggravated and when she get upset she usually pees in her pants. The fact she is sharing private information not only about the business owner but herself is completely inappropriate. I asked for the owner's information instead, to contact him directly because it is evident that this lady has some psychological issues and she just hung up on me. Trust me I am not exaggerating, this really happened and it was absolutely disappointing but most importantly, very unprofessional. I would give them "0" stars but that option is not available. He wont call or email me back. Sent him regulations and dont know the difference between regs and a report. He said he would come n fix my system.
