I traveled to San Antonio, Texas, specifically to provide fittings and services for my clients ahead of their wedding. As a traveling designer, there are limitations to what we can bring with us--particularly our professional sewing machines, equipment, and the full range of tools available in our studio. With the groom's wedding less than 24 hours away, we were suddenly faced with an extremely time-sensitive situation that required both skill and immediate attention. There is a tremendous difference between simply completing a job and understanding the construction of a garment, respecting the designer's vision, and working collaboratively toward the best possible result. On both occasions, I had wonderful work done and it was done in a timely manner. She quoted me one week and I was perfectly content with that. All items look better than they did when I brought them in && I brought my items to her fresh from the store. I don't how she did it, but she makes my clothes look higher quality. She has beautiful hem lines and provides excellent recommendations for additional areas of adjustment, such as tidying up a high slit. She is very friendly and easy to work with. On 7/14 he said tomorrow for sure. On 7/15 I wasn't able to reach him on his business line, there was a recording saying he wasn't accepting calls at the time. He had given us a very small piece of paper that included his cell phone number. I tried that number and it also said he wasn't accepting calls at the time. On 7/16 I tried the two numbers again with the same recording, saying he wasn't accepting calls. My husband went to the location and was told they weren't ready yet. Tomorrow for sure. On 7/17 my husband went to pick them up and amazingly they were "ready". My husband tried them on quickly, assumed they were OK and left. He tried them on again when he got home and we noticed that one jacket had a shoulder that drooped a little and the sleeves had not been hemmed, with the chalk mark still very visible. We took it back and were told it needed an extra shoulder pad, just needed some taking in and he could fix it - we said no more! We would never leave anything there again. We insisted on some of the money back that we paid in cash when we dropped off the two jackets. He gave us $60 back out of $200 and we took the jacket to a reputable tailor. I would have had more patience but this man blocked my number from BOTH his business phone and his cell phone. That is a very bad way to run a business.
