I brought a bridesmaid dress in from birdy grey that was a crepe material, I needed the bottom shortened and the straps to be tightened to pull up the upper portion. Visited location over the weekend I had a dress and I wanted to get 2 inches cut off the bottom. She quoted me $110! I told her it was too high she got upset and told me to go home and cut it . I didn't cut it myself but I did go to Alteration To Go on 130 W Olmos Dr, San Antonio, TX 78212. She measured it professionally not just sticking safety pins in the bottom and said okay but she measured 2 inches all the way around with a ruler and marked it with a tool I only paid $45 dollars! read more

This was my second time using Victoria's Custom Tailoring. Last time I brought in a dress to have the zipper repaired. They charged me less than $10 and I had it back within a week. This time I brought in my brand new customized NFL Seattle Seahawks jersey. We paid like $300 for the jersey so needless to say I was very nervous about having it altered. It took a little longer than I expected only because of their holiday schedule. I finally picked it up the other day and I am very very very impressed. I've always been a tall person so my pants was always short at the ankle, and with my added weight loss my waist need adjusted on my favorite pants. I brought them in to get altered and the fit was amazing. I was impressed that I had a custom face mask made. Reasonable price and in a timely manner. I received so many compliments at work that we are thinking of getting them for all the employees (pending director approval of course). I can't say enough good stuff about this place. EVERY TIME i go to a tailor I feel rushed and like i am in a pressure cooker. They try to upsell you on EVERYTHING. Well I was in a pinch and wanted a new suit in a short time frame. I called and explained I needed my suit by Saturday, she(don't know her name) said bring it in I will let you know what I can do. I was so surprised by how nice and attentive she was to my requests. She even agreed to get my son's jacket done in a very short time frame. We have used her before but I just never took the time to say anything nice about her service. I can't recommend this place enough. Her prices are just a bit higher than my last tailor, but the location (so close to home) and very convenient made it worth more than a few $$. It is a little tough to find, but she is directly behind Gold's Gym on 281N. I went to the one in Encino commons.Not sure it is owned by same people. read more

I will preface this post by saying I never write reviews but I wanted to warn anyone going to this place. I went to this place based on the previous reviews and all I can say is STAY AWAY! I took my wedding dress in to get altered around the chest area. While there she convinced me that the dress needed to fixed around the neck area as well, so I agreed. While I knew it would be costly I did not expect to $130 for a crap job!! Mind you my dress was not an ornate or extravagent dress by any means, just a simple white dress with a beaded halter. I come in to pick up the dress, I figured I should try it on to make sure I like it. To my surprise, NOTHING had been done around the chest area and the dress still had pins it...but she swore it was done. I was livid, considering my wedding was the next day and I was planning on leaving to Austin right after I picked up the dress. She said to give her an hour, so I did. Upon my second inspection, sure she had altered the chest area, but done a HORRIBLE job, not to mention the huge snag at the bottom of the dress. Needless to say, I will never return or refer anyone to this place. read more

I am very surprised by the negative experiences before me that I had to come and write my honest review about my personal experience. Maybe they have fired and hired other tailors that help her out with alterations but my experience has been AWESOME! I can do my own alterations with hems, taking in, simple alterations but when it comes to more complex things, I go to a professional. I had a very complicated bridesmaid dress and just recently moved to Stone Oak and was nervous about trusting an "untested" (by me) tailor to alter a very important Bridesmaid dress. I am short and curvy and the off-the-rack clothing that I get, always has to be altered someway, somehow, to fit and flatter me. So....I bit the bullet after a long and extensive search online to find tailors in San Antonio, I settled on Victoria's Custom Tailoring & Alterations. I was greeted with the most sincere, honest and loving woman! She took her time with me and sincerely considered some of my suggestions in which she strongly and honestly told me not to do it. Thank God I took her advise because upon returning after my "rush" order, I went in for my second fitting and had no improvises! It fit perfectly right after the first fitting!!!!! I don't know what she did, or the mental notes that she took but that NEVER happens to me. Not even when I do my own alterations! I knew that the entire dress had to be deconstructed and placed right back together again. I know that it takes time and EVERY LITTLE DETAIL cannot be overlooked or your piece with look a little off. I was so impressed with her that I recommended my husband to go to this woman for the tailoring of his button down work shirts! I came on here when looking up the information to contact her and found these reviews on Yelp! All I can say is, go and try her, my experience was good! I trust her and she has been doing this for over ten years (way longer but I can't remember) in that location. She is very good and has her own dedicated clientele that trust her with their most elaborate pieces. Heck, when I went in the first time, I was greeted by mannequins with pageant dresses that she has worked on that are now up for sale by the owner. It is nice to finally find a little gem that is soooo close to me, that I can trust to do the best job. And.......the icing on the cake was her price for the "rush" job and the extent to what I needed was incredible! I mean, I have paid for ALOT more at other tailors that did mediocre jobs at best. To me, she is a win-win. She had me laughing throughout our appointment and I absolutely am 100% grateful that I found her and tell everyone that if they need a quality job, go to her. These people not only charged me an arm and a leg for a bridesmaid dress alteration (that's fairly simple) they also put me 2 days behind schedule for this dress' wedding.
