If I can put no star I would A&E have no reliable employees I've had to miss work twice and they didn't show The first time they rescheduled on me called me 5 min prior to my 12-5 pm scheduling they called me at 4:55. The second time they called me earlier but the manager tells me that the Mechanic left early for the day. Now I'm rescheduled for a third time and have to miss another day of work, they are scheduled on MLK weekend. Let's see if they show up. read more

They are thieves, liars, very informal, and lack knowledge. (I live in Galena Park, but my VPN marks a different location for my protection.) 1.- They tell you a price when you call and change the price when they arrive. The first technician who came to my house wanted to add $ 40.00 for labor, but he did not do or fix anything. Instead, he blamed the circuit breaker for having tripped. He did not know that the circuit breaker trips to protect the unit. 2.- I had to call repeatedly to "fix" the problem "because the person who answered the phone kept telling me that someone was coming to my house and no one showed up several times. Finally, five days later, another technician came and fixed the unit by changing the capacitor, but he charged a very high price; I ended up paying $ 278.00 after much fighting and lies. read more

This is my second experience with this company. They came to fix my A.C. only 5 months ago and cleaned the coil, which seemed to fix the problem. Yet here I am again calling them. My complaint is that they are absolutely never on time. I woke up specifically early for my 8 to 10 appointment only to have it be 11:52 and I received a call saying they were on the way an hour and a half ago. I am a "member" and was told I'd have the first spot this morning when I made my appointment early yesterday morning. I will update this post based on the service I receive today. read more

Great job on the AC installation! A few hiccups but they were resolved quickly. Except for my new attic door done by Mike. Very shoddy and lazy work and I'm having to wait yet another week for it to get done. I have had several issues with the installation and getting people to come out when they said they would. The guys that did the installation have now been terminated apparently. Eli is very knowledgeable and willing to help with AC issues in a timely manner, but seems to have no control over the employees. It is now going on 7 months now and I still have the shoddy trim on my attic door that was installed by Mike. He also caused a crack in the ceiling next to the attic door. I made this known to one of the employees and nothing has been done. If they want to send Mike out to do your attic door with trim work, tell them you want someone else. Trust me. This is causing the star rating to drop significantly. read more

I had 2 other contractors say I needed new furnace or the control board needed replacement or the control board no longer manufactured so new furnace needed. Eli troubleshooted and determined it was the blown in insulation in the attic (that was put in by another HVAC co) and getting into equipment. No wonder my HVAC unit would shut off and turn back on for no reason. Finally found an honest HVAC guy. I will have him look at my other property's HVAC unit. I have scheduled an appointment for them to do the work and requested an invoice that contains their diagnosis. Its been a few days. Be sure to get a firm quote from them because despite having two different people ensuring me that the price they stated was firm, my technician, Brad, still charged twice as much as I was quoted. After I requested to speak to his supervisor, Eli, his supervisor suggested him to tell me to add on additional services, even though my technician told me it wasn't necessary not even 10 min prior and that my water heater was in "great condition with nothing out of order". After negotiating back and forth, we finally compromised on a price higher than my original quote. Fast forward 9 hours later, my fiancé comes home to find our backyard FLOODED with boiling hot water. I immediately contacted them to see if they could come remedy their mistake. They refused to take any ownership and blamed the fact that "it could've just been a bad part", despite Brad coming out to do a full service check to make sure everything was properly working. Brad told us that night that he would come back the next day at 5pm and would not charge us a service fee and if we provided our own part, it would be at no cost to us. The next day, their secretary, Irma, called to give us another quote that was 4x as much as he stated and said he should have never promised that because Eli would never agree to such terms. Also, he never even came. At the end of the day, A&E just wants to make money off of you and will not take any ownership of their mistakes. read more

I had A & E Mechanical install a 2.5 ton Ruud A/C in 2016. I decided to have a summer tune up and found that the Ruud unit was not professionally installed by A & E. The suction line had been leaking at the condenser due to an improper weld. The remainder of the installation had various flaws that impacted the efficiency of the unit. This is in accordance to the technician from Weeks Service Company. I contacted A & E Mechanical only to run into a lot of double talk from Eli. They agreed to fix the poor solder job but charge me for the rest. Eli is a very smooth talker but I feel that I cannot trust his character. I am sad that I hired this Company but certainly learned my lesson. The reviews that I read on A & E certainly cannot be accurate reviews based on the experience that I had with this Company. read more

I am extremely satisfied with A&E Mechanical. Eli was on time for all appointments, explained all services to be performed in an easily understood language, and at a reasonable price! The workers who did the labor of replacing my complete HVAC system, did a great job, very professional and cleaned up afterward. Eli, one of the owners, said he was planning to come back in a few days to see if I was still satisfied with the new system. Frankly, almost immediately, my house was very comfortable. He did not pay the supplier of the unit and now I have a $9,500 lien on my property because Michael did not pay his bill. He has not returned my calls/emails regarding this matter. read more

I recently got onto homeadviser looking for an AC company and came across one listed A&E mechanical. They had by far the best reviews and ratings til we actually hired them on and everything went downhill. First day 11\4\17 on the job they came out and nothing got done cause they had all the wrong equipment and wrong measurements. Second day 11\6\17 they came out and didnt have the right material and equipment now going on the third day 11\7\17 they show up missing more equipment again and didnt leave my home til 7pm! Now here is the fourth day 11\8\17 they show up and finally complete the project not the way it shouldve been done which should've taken them I would say a day and a half. Starting any project i believe they should've had everything on hand and not showing up everyday missing equipment/material did i mention they also used a few of my old parts when we agreed everything would be brand new. I came on here to write a review to make sure no one else gets ripped off like I did.. Sounds like to me the old bait & switch. They did the opposite of what they said they were going to do. read more

I hate that I can't leave a better review, but the customer service is terrible. Ray seems to know his craft, but getting them to do it is extraordinarily difficult. I had them working on a one bedroom apartment that I was renovating. They did a great job servicing the unit itself, but getting them to finish other aspects of the job has been terrible. It's now an occupied rental and the ductwork still isn't finished nor are all the vent covers installed. This has been going on for over six weeks. They no call no show more often than not and when they do show up it's usually hours late. They were supposed to be there today between 8 and 10 to finish everything. At 10:45 I called to find out qhere they were and was told they were 15-20 minutes out. I relayed that to the tenant. An hour later they still haven't shown up and now I'm dealing with a pissed off tenant and no one answering the phones at the company. read more

Very bad customer service specifically from Eli who came out to my parent's home. At first he was friendly and professional. Once hired, everything went down hill. What should had been a half day work turned in to 4 day nightmare. First, they showed up 5 hours late to installation without notifying us of their lateness. When arrived they did not bring all the purchased equipment. They were suppose to show up the next day and again showed up late only installed the outside unit and again did not bring the correct coil for the attic. When installing the coil they damage a circuit board on the furnace and failed to informed us, so the fan kept running 24/7. Eli told my parent that they would need to purchase a brand new furnace and the price would be $1,200. I hired a contractor to inspect the furnace and found that the furnace circuit was burn out while A&E installed the new AC. So I confronted Eli and said that he would purchase and install the circuit but that if it cost more than $100 then I would cover the difference. I agreed because at this point is been a week and half that the fan as been running none stop. He would personally install the circuit on Monday and again no show and no call. Then on Wednesday he send an employee late at night and asked my parent to sign a paper and instructed the employee to not install the circuit unless my parent sign a document and collect payment. He is very misleading and corrupt behavior. Be VERY aware of his sales tacit to earn your business then hides and not return calls. To this date he and A&E as yet to fix the issue. read more

I hired this company and they never finished the job they were supposed to . started having problems weeks after they did the installation brought a professional a.c. tech and he found a lot of problems with the job they did but the worst one was that they installed a 4 ton a.c. unit when we agreed that we needed a 5 ton in my house which I have in writing in a contract we did so they charge me for a 5 ton but install a 4 ton it's sad that now days there's no honest people this is the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with this is a life learning lesson my advice to anybody thinking of hiring them do yourself a favor stay away there very nice when they want to get your job but once you have paid they care less they won't answer or reply .
