Me and a friend came here on bikes, we wanted to walk in and look around I was propping up my bike on there glass window, my friend had just walked in it was a mess and the owner just kept following him around. I had slightly hit the glass when I leaned on the bike he came running out and yelled at me, told me if I break anything outside he'll personally make sure I get arrested, then my friend walked out, as soon as he did the owner threatened to take us straight to the cops. Based on the good reviews, we decided to support a local shop and have them do our coaches gifts for my son's high school football staff, laser engraved thermoses. I saw a picture of a hyrdoflask that was beautifully done and was hoping for the same quality. I was wrong. Here's what I had problems with: 1. We gave 10 bottles. We have 9 coaches, so 1 of the bottles was to be a test bottle. When the bottles were picked up, they looked like crap. I was like, wth, this isn't giftable. The design looked faded, incomplete. The picture we gave was squeezed. This was not worth the $20 fee per bottle. Oh no. 2. At what point, did no one think to say, hey, these look like crap, let's call the customer and let them know our equipment, or their bottles, are not a right fit. I was told that the thermoflask brand was so strongly built that the laser had to run over 100+ times. OK -- so at that realization, that would have been a great time for the shop to call and say, "Look, this isn't going to work." 3. I saw the test bottle myself when I went in to see the revisions. Like really tho, nothing on that test bottle looked good. It should have stopped there. But 9 bottles later, here I am writing a review 4. I was then told that they only had 2 inches to work with. Since I was the one who submitted the design I was shocked. All that was said was to turn in a black and white jpg, which I did. Had I been told there was only 2 inches of space to work with, the design would have been altered to maximize the length of the bottle. 5. The revisions, at best, were "Not horrible." My suggestion is for the shop to have a form for people to submit designs if they are looking to customize/laser engrave thermoses. On this form, customers need to be aware of the sizing parameters or design requirements. There needs to be better communication. Had we been notified about the difficulty in engraving the bottles we brought in, we would have cut our loss at that one bottle, and said thank you anyways, and we would have spent money on stickers/decals, or perhaps even returned what we bought to look for alternative gifts. They did purchase new bottles to do a redo on the bottles that were the worst, but it was just too little too late. read more

I am very pleased with my experience here. I pass by this shop frequently as I travel down Lomita Blvd. and decided to support the small business instead of searching for products online. Sharon was extremely helpful and finished engraving my orders within an hour. I had a few image ideas and was pleasantly surprised that they were able to print exactly what I wanted. I debated writing a bad review because Sharon was very nice and tried to fix and make things right. But I just left there with a horrible experience and even after all said and done still do not feel good about any of it. People should know what they may deal with as this is their profession and it should not have happened in the first place. So I called and spoke with Sharon to reach out for Coaches gifts for THS football and also expecting to maybe build a relationship for future needs of the program (trophies, awards, etc...). I originally viewed them on Yelp and saw their good reviews and even saw pictures of what we were looking to get made. I called on 4/6 to ask if we bring in hydro flask bottles on Friday the 9th can they be engraved on and meet our deadline of the following Friday (the 16th)? I was given vague requirements of the art images and communicated back and forth on e-mail the next few days. When I stopped in Friday to drop the bottles off I even advised I had an extra one I would leave for her to test on. So fast forward to the 14th (2 days before I am scheduled to pickup).......I was contacted via e-mail advising the image needed to be adjusted a bit and there was an extra fee and we were still on schedule for Friday pickup. No big deal, I advised her to proceed. Friday the 16th I believe I originally said I would pickup sometime around 4pm. I contacted them that day to see if I can pickup a little earlier and was told they would not be ready until 4:45-5pm. So the 16th I show up maybe around 4:30pm. Now this is our last game and I had the players waiting on me back at the field to present these to the coaches before the game. Anyways I walk in and Sharon advises she is just finishing up the last few. My first thought was I should have questioned her more when I was not getting an e-mail until the 14th asking about adjusting the artwork. 2nd thought was ok she is doing this last minute??? Well she hands me the the ready bottles and my mouth dropped. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible work! My jaw dropped. I immediately told her these were not presentable and or acceptable. I sat in there for probably another hour waiting for her to finished the last few bottles and go over them with her machine a few more times. Also calling some of the other Moms to see what we were going to do as well as calling my Son to tell him to let everyone now not to wait for me because the gifts were not happening. So during that time I was there I questioned what happened? I think I went above and beyond as a customer with the flexibility and communication. Never was I told there was a real issue with the art work we sent, never was I told the samples were not coming out good, never was I told the deadline could not be met, never was I told there was a problems with the bottles I brought in and never was I told this was a job they could not handle. I explained to her I much would have rather her had been honest they couldn't do it or been advised they would be late because she ran into problems rather then walk into subpar work. Literally 5 out of the 9 bottles were junk and the other 4 were just ok. So I ended up leaving, advised I would get more bottles to her and that we needed to try this again. Only reason I gave it another shot was because we were already out $150 on bottles now since they had to be replaced. So I expected them to replace the new bottles (which they did) and or complete the services for free so we did not incur any addiotnal costs. Before I left we discussed the art work a bit more and adjusted it per her request. That was sent in an e-mailed on the 18th. We talked about testing some of the old bottles again and she would send me pics. So 4/22 she e-mailed me that the new bottles were picked up and would be testing the artwork and give me a call in the next few days. I reached out on 4/29 I sent an e-mail asking if the pics were available yet as I had not heard anything. I had to reach out a few more times after that both via e-mail and phone and did not hear back until 5/4. On 5/4 the new sample was sent and we were asked to come by to check it out. I was not able to get in there before they closed so I sent in two other Mom's. Everything was reviewed and approved to proceed with the rest of the replacement bottles. I just went in this week to pick them up and they looked how they should have looked in the first place. I was still charged the quoted price (minus the tax was the discount) which was $180. I was not sure how that was going to go since they were already out like $75 for the replacement bottles they had to get. Honestly I felt we should not have been charged at all. We missed our original presentation. Now 2 of our Coaches are not returning. I am really not happy with the 4 "ok" bottles we agreed to leave. It was a stressful and horrible experience. Also looked bad on me as I collected money from parents and did not come through. read more

This was my first and best experience with an engraving company. I came in asking for a stethoscope to be engraved and their estimate was $30 cheaper than those around my location. Their time was fair and the price was amazing. I will be coming here more often when I need wrapping or any gifts to be touched up. read more

I felt embarrassed for her and the company she was representing. I really hope she wasn't the owner! The funny thing is I was looking for an engraving company for trophies and saw this company on yelp. Decided to go to their shop, but after this run in, I'm taking my business elsewhere. I was very hesitant about coming here for my plaques because... well, it was a hole in the wall shop and I had no experience in doing anything like ordering plaques, but since I found their sticker on the back of a plaque that I received, I figured... let's give it a shot. First off, Sandra is a sweetheart. She follows up with you and really makes sure you get what you want. She'll also work with you on helping you budget. For my order, I had four plaques made, each with different writing on it. They turned out great and looked really nice during presentations. I suggest having a print up of what you want your plaques to say and EXACTLY how you want it to look before entering the store. It not only helps her be more efficient, but there's less liability on you if things don't come out properly. I really wanted to give her 5 five stars, but one of the plaques not only had a typo, but was placed upside down so that it could not be hung anywhere. :[ Therefore, I suggest not only double checking the print out you give her, but also checking each one before leaving the store so you know you have everything exactly right. She was really sweet about fixing it and got it done within a 24 hour time frame, but it was definitely lame sauce having to take it back from the person it was given to in order to get it fixed. Overall, great place, reasonable prices and I'd definitely go back again for any future plaque or trophy needs. :] read more

This may have been my first time in a trophy shop, I have to say it was pretty much what I expected. It's a nice little shop that has tons of different trophies and plaques. The sales lady was really easygoing, she helped me pick out a trophy for my fantasy football league. It only took a couple days and I'm really happy with the results. I was in a terrible bind and A&E came to the rescue. I just had a plaque made (by an unnamed company) to honor my uncle's 75th birthday and the result was horrendous at best. I was unsuccessful in getting my money back and worst, I needed to send the plaque across the country asap. So after seeing the glowing reviews of A&E on yelp, I made the short trek over to Lomita and placed an emergency order. To my surprise the owner (bless her, because she was sick at the time) took her time to explain to me all of the various options and promised to make any changes if I did not approve of the final product. Well, not only did A&E get the plaque back to me in record time, but to my delight I did not have to take her up on the offer, as the plaque came out fantastic and I was able to mail it in time for my uncle's birthday.
