I can't say enough good things about the owner of this company and his techs. They were right there…read morewhen I had a time crunch on closing a house and a last-minute issue in the ductwork caused by a crawl space mold-abatement project by a different contractor. They checked it out and took care of it, at some cost to their schedule, I"m sure. I was able to close on time, thanks to them! Throughout the process they kept me informed of both the cost and the progress, and the costs were very reasonable. Finally, their accounting and notification systems are amazing. I received an email about what the tech was going out to look at, based on my explanation of the problem before he got there. When the tech went to the truck after his work, I got an email with the analysis and the bill, which I could pay online right then, or later if I wished. The whole process worked not just like clockwork, but like a very expensive Swiss watch. Or a lunar landing. And, they were pleasant, forthcoming about what was likely wrong, and also frank about what they couldn't say until they saw the problem. They treated me as if I had a brain and was likely able to understand what they told me. They believed what I said. All in all, this was a great experience, with great people of great integrity, a great notification and billing system, and, of course, they fixed the problem. I was told they would have to come back another day to complete the work, and we scheduled for the next day. 10 minutes after they were due to show up, the scheduler, Nola, called me and stated they would not be sending a tech until I agreed to their price of $861 to lay a foot of copper pipe to an existing line and replace an outside spigot. The work was supposed to be done hourly on a time and materials basis. I told her I thought the price ridiculous and shared my dissatisfaction with having to be pinned down waiting another day to have a tech come to do the job they were unprepared to do the day before. I was told I was being "rude" for having to explain to her how I had been inconvenienced (because she asked me that question). She said she would have to talk to her service manager to see if they could even send anyone and would call me. She never called and I called her back and let her know I had been a customer at Fitch for 23 years but will no longer be using their services ever again. John Fitch used to run a decent company, but now the customer service is horrible, the techs are unprepared, and they try to price gouge the customers to make up for time lost due to their own errors.

We had several quotes and ultimately decided to go with AHA because they contract with Trane. My experience with their service has never been an issue. All of their technicians are fine. We had one instance where our motor went out during last years ice storm and had to go with another company who could use their own personal 4 wheel drives to get it us to replace the motor. My experience with getting the quote from Dan was great. He is very knowledgeable and approaches quotes in a very helpful and common sense manner. I valued his input and how thorough he was. My experience with the technicians who installed our HVAC was great. They were wonderful to have in our home and we enjoyed interacting with them. My one and only issue with AHA is with their accounting person, Sharon Jenkins. About a week after the HVAC was installed I received an email from Sharon asking for more money for the install. I explained to her that the quote was $x and the final bill came out to be LESS THAN THE QUOTE. I even supplied the final invoice that I paid in full showing the difference thinking "oh she just needs to update her side to reflect the final amount". This is not uncommon and actually speaks volumes of Dan to over quote by just a little and have the customer a bit happier. After explaining the nuances of her job to her she was outright rude and refused to understand HER job. She incorrectly tried to say that the quote is the contract amount but didn't acknowledge the final invoice. Unwilling to go back and forth I contacted their customer service and was immediately told I was correct and my account was zeroed out. My advice to AHA is to part ways with Sharon. After reading a lot of reviews and speaking with people in my neighborhood it is a common theme that their only issue with AHA is having to interact with her. One person in fact said they went with another company solely because they refuse to ever speak to Sharon again. I would also suggest that AHA do a full investigation into her previous interactions with other customers. Were there customers in the past that didn't know any different and she was able to get that extra $$? Is this a systemic problem? Are their books in order? Where is this extra money going? As a customer it is not my responsibility to explain basic accounting to the accountant. I see her behavior as a giant red flag for any business. This review would be 5 stars if AHA had a different accountant who was actually kind and knew how to do her job.

I called and An appointment was scheduled, promptly, for the next day. Our service technician was Leo, who was very courteous and knowledgeable. He performed a diagnostic check on the unit and after a short period of time, had it performing perfectly again. He took photos to show the problem to be a loose connection, most likely from the manufacturer. The upstairs is now cool again. I really appreciated Leo's kindness and explanation of the problem!
