I take my dog to Uptown for both grooming and boarding. It is on the pricier side, but that is…read moretotally worth it for the peace of mind I have while he is staying there. The staff are so kind and flexible with travel changes (if you need to pick up earlier or stay an extra night) which is really helpful when flying. They have a great pre-check feature where you can give a lot of detail on your dog's stay. I typically send toys that I don't mind losing just as a precaution, but they've never lost anything I've sent with my dog and everything comes back neatly packed in his bag. I don't worry about my baby at all while he is at Uptown.

My dog immediately choked up kibble, and within about 30 minutes of getting him back to my hotel, I had to request input from my vet back home and immediately take him to the ER Vet where he had to spend the next almost two days. He had aspiration pneumonia. They of course denied the entire thing and when I went in to view the camera footage they had, they had a clip of the footage that was about 1:30 seconds long that had been cut to not show me going over to my dog where he has choked kibble up. I called immediately when I got to the hotel room, as I didn't want to react immediately due to the emotion involved. They of course have denied everything. I've stayed quiet about this incident for almost a year now because I honestly thought maybe they'd own up to their (maybe) mistake and do what was right and help cover what I had to pay for. I am active duty military and have to travel to Lexington frequently for clinical. I trusted this business with my furchildren and they failed. I just truly hope that next time this happens, the outcome isn't different. Had I waited until the next day to take my pup to the vet, he most likely would not have survived. Within hours he was on oxygen at the ER vet. I've been dealing with their insurance company since January and they will not be covering anything. This is honestly, the outcome that I expected, as both Uptown Hounds and The Hanover Group did not display much professionalism. The worst part is, they won't even refund me the amount of services that I paid for and will never receive for my dogs. I truly hope no one else has to deal with this situation.

I wanted to provide an update since my review is about a year old and I'm still bringing my dog…read morehere all of the time and just how happy he and I both are with this place! All I have to do is say "Jack jack, do you want to go get a hair cut?" and my dog perks up and runs to sit by the back door. He loves the two owners to pieces and always dances around when he walks in, super excited to see them. I've had animals all of my life and I've taken them to various groomers ranging from Georgetown to Lexington to Richmond and I've never been happier with a facility than I am with this place. I will never bring my pup anywhere else! To Abby J. below: There are leash laws in Lexington and I'm glad they said something to you because if I witnessed you with your dog off of a leash (whether people were in the parking lot or not) I would have said something to you as well! It takes only one time and one second for your dog to attack someone else or to run out into the road and end up injured or dead. If you're too lazy to leash your dog for 5 seconds, you're too lazy to own a dog. I also find it hard to believe they had an attitude with you over the time you would arrive to pick up your dog. I work in Georgetown and have, many times, called them to apologize and say that with traffic and the time I get off work, that I wouldn't be there until right at 6pm and they were perfectly fine with that. However, I also chose to give them more than a 15 minutes notice because I'm not rude. ;) I would venture to guess that it's likely your behavior and attitude that resulted in a poor customer experience because I've never once had a single hint of unprofessional-ism from either of the owners. You knew well before 5:45pm that you wouldn't arrive until close to 6pm and the fact that you had to take New Circle during rush hour didn't cross your mind at all or factor into the time you gave? Lol It sounds like you were the problem in this situation.

I had used PP for daycare and was never anything short of completely satisfied! So when I started to look for a groomer they were on my list of choices for sure. After lengthy consideration I decided to entrust my little buddy to them. If you are in the same boat and a little apprehensive on where to take your dog look no further. This is the spot, and the lady that works there is nothing less than a complete professional who did a phenomenal job. My dog was cute before, now my little Jack Russell corgi mix is downright dapper. I cannot recommend this business enough, and in opinion they are the best to be had in Lexington.

I rarely ever leave a review but I had to, to warn other customers of my recent experience…read more I have been boarding my dogs for a couple years now at Keshlyn Kennel and they have always been super amazing at taking care of my 2 small dogs until recently. I tried to board my dogs for 5 days in August 2025 and was told that they are no longer boarding dogs 12 years and older. This policy isn't located anywhere on their website. I honestly feel and believe that they are discriminating against myself and my dogs because they recently stayed for 2 weeks in July 2025 with no issues other than having to put padding on the walls due one of my dogs being blind. I have spent literally thousands of dollars here and have been a loyal respectful customer for years. BEWARE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO ESTABLISH CARE FOR YOUR DOGS WHILE OUT OF TOWN DO NOT USE THEM. THEY MAKE THEIR OWN RULES AND POLICIES AND THEY ARE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY CUSTOMER/DOG.

Oh wow! I am already excited about leaving my cat here. Look at the star review on this place!…read more So I am looking to move my crazy kitten, Wilde, soon to be a cat and he is still non neutered. There are limited amount of places who will take a non neutered male and I am so glad that this place is one of them. Their boarding process is easy as a new client. Fill out some forms and have your pet's medical records on your phone or documented. CON: THEY DO NOT ALLOW FOR EXTENDED STAYS. I want to leave my pile of fur and claws there for a month, visiting every two weeks and the representative stated that "The best you could do is leave him for two weeks and then take him for two days and then bring him back for another two weeks." Suggestion: I wish they would allow vets to fax over or email over pet medical records. I went to actually check this place out today in person and it seems like there is a lot going on. It definitely feels like it is in a rural part of Lexington, if that makes sense. I do not like the back roads I have to take to get here. Tates Creek also bisects the road to this location, but it is down like two lanes (one coming and one going).
