I've already been to two other pediatric dentists and never once was I charged for a second opinion -- so clearly this office is out of line. When I tried to reschedule, they insisted on a $150 "no-show" fee, even though they called me less than 24 hours before. This feels like a money trap, and I'm prepared to involve my lawyer. I will be taking necessary actions and reporting this office to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and the Texas Attorney General's Office - Consumer Protection Division. If any of you have gone through the same thing, please do the same so this practice is held accountable.

After a 40 min wait non iv sedation, went on the table strapped her down then the doctor comes in with all these other recommendations as my child growing increasingly anxious. Tactics used to force you into hasty & costly decisions. By this time my child's unnerved and resisting. Talked me into pulling a tooth and inputting a spacer. Said the filings the diagnosed previously were just stains. Said she was too anxious after pulling the tooth and to come back for the spacer they had already charged me for. Sent me a notice shortly after that stating they refuse to do oral sedation she'd have to get IV which is extremely expensive and not covered by insurance. No concern about the unprofessional ambush after stalling her down and stalling with recommendations until she got restless. Refused to give me x rays the day of and multiple times after. I've sent written requests as well., still no x-rays. Excuses like their email was down and they didn't know when it would be up. Still haven't got a refund for the unpreformed procedure.

For context: we had an appointment scheduled Dec 9 at 4:30 pm. On Dec. 8 I called in the morning to see if I can reschedule and the person I spoke with said they'll give me a call back at the end of the day for a new date and time. Never got a call, but I figured they were busy and that we'll just make the original appointment work. On Dec. 9, I called an hour before the appt and said that we were running late because of school traffic and asked if I could bump her appt down to 4:45 instead of the original 4:30. They said it was fine and they'll see us then. We got there a little after 4:50 and when I went to check in they said they couldn't see us because we were 15 mins past the grace period. I told them that wasn't right, because our appt was at 4:45. They said they had us down for 4:30, so I explained the call I made the day before attempting to reschedule and the call I made that same day where they said I could come in at 4:45. The lady said since the call center took my call, they have no record in their system and therefore have to forfeit my appt because all the doctor's were booked. Lady tried to say the miscommunication with them has been an ongoing issue, and that there was nothing she could do. Very disappointing given the miscommunication was on THEIR end. You would think they would've done something differently since they have actively known about the issue. Shame that 8 years of loyalty have gone down the drain over an issue that they were aware of. My daughter now goes to my dentist, Dr. Taha over at the ToothBooth. My husband and I have been going there for at least 6 years and we have never had any issues. They always go above and beyond, especially in communicating. Within a week I had an appt there for my daughter and she was in and out in less than 45 mins. for her cleaning/check up.
