    Peanut Roaster

If you are walking in downtown Mobile I think you should pop in and check out the Peanut Shop. The good: lots of choices of Candies and snacks. Fried Nuts. The Meh: Many of the items in the store are not made in store and are just prepackaged stuff. Items add up fast and you can drop $20 in a heartbeat. I suggest the fried Pumpkin seed and Peanuts. They also had homemade cashew turtles that were off the chain good. I suggest asking what is made in house and grabbing those items.

This place has been here for so many years, and still attracts a crowd daily. The roasting machines are so old I have no idea how they keep them running but I'm glad they do. We stop in on every trip downtown and get a pound or two of the awesome nuts or candy. It's all good, I love the Spanish peanuts and my wife gets the pecans. Always service with a smile. Can't beat this historic institution.

This place gives me so much joy and a sense of nostalgia. It's hard to believe I have been visiting this place for nearly 25 years and I hope for many more experiences to come. The roasted peanuts are always a must get and occasionally a sweet treat. I recommend the peanut clusters, sponge candy, and coconut macaroons are our top favorites.

Who can criticize a shop that's been open since WWII? It's small, it's crowded with tons of stuff and looks like a dive, but the fresh roasted nuts will drive even the most disciplined person into buying SOMETHING. We ended up grabbing some chocolate covered almonds - delicious!

I was walking by recently and couldn't help but stop in. I was definitely drawn in by the aroma. Plenty of sweet and savory options to choose from. I love the fact that it has a historic feel to it with some of the pictures and machinery. They also had lots of candy options that I hadn't seen since I was a kid. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. I will drop in anytime I'm back in the area!

Great great place to visit in downtown Mobile. Hot roasted peanut smell is wonderful! Great place for roasted nuts and candies. Picked up Brazil nuts and creole peanuts. By extra for the squirrels in the square just up the street!

Happy kiddos. Large bag of peanuts. Mouth filled with candy. Cute window display!

This shop brought me back to my youth! This old fashion candy shop which probably hasn't changed much over the decades it's been here filled me, and I can imagine so many others who visit, with lots of nostalgia! This tiny, long shop in the heart of downtown Mobile sells all sorts of candy and chocolates, a few gift items and other fun treats like those Hot Mama pickles my husband always buys me. What we came for, and what I dare you to walk by and not purchase is the fresh roasted peanuts that pop off of a 100 year old roaster!! That smell is insane and absolutely irresistible! They were hands down THEE most delicious hot, fresh peanuts I have ever had! They sell small and large bags. Don't even question it...go big! They will all disappear! We all couldn't get enough! I mean, so good!!! The kiddos also grabbed some candy which was weighed per pound on an old fashion scale by the kind lady behind the counter. We all enjoyed looking at the seasonal display in the front window! Would have loved to have seen how they decorate them for every holiday! Such a great stop!

One of a kind shop and super nice people! This is a 75+ year long-standing historical nuts & sweets shop in the heart of downtown Mobile, right on Dauphin Street. The savory smell of the myriad of roasted nuts and seeds makes cramming into the narrow store along with other loyal customers anxiously awaiting awesomeness well worth it. My favorite is to have them combo 1/4 lb of roasted pumpkin seeds with 1/4 of wasabi peas! The mix is a buttery roasted, crunchy, hint of wasabi spice miracle! Oh and I also ALWAYS get a few of their coconut macaroons to treat myself

This place is INCREDIBLE and smells delicious from the outside. It's old school, a little divey even, but man are the nuts really really good. Tried white chocolate covered pecans, and a salted variety. They tasted warm. Loved how they are measured in the old school scale, and watching the nuts get roasted in the antique machine. Recommend to anyone/everyone in the Mobile area for a long standing local snack.

As an Alabamian, Conecuh is most delicious in a shrimp and grits dish! I agree with Yelper Friend John M. that Conecuh sausage does "have a great snap when you bite into it and the flavor is outstanding!" Here in North Alabama, Conecuh products are readily available at Publix, Kroger, Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Star Super Market, and other grocery stores! Conecuh meats, gift items (t-shirts, magnets, yard flags, etc.), and spices are also available on Amazon. It is a huge menu bolster in Alabama if the restaurant's chef adds "Conecuh" to the description of a menu item! Thanks for the deliciousness, Conecuh!

The store was very clean and reminded me a lot of Buc-ees. I'd definitely recommend stopping in if you're looking for something different from your average gas station stop during the middle of your roadtrip.
