Everything about this A&W/Long John Silver's restaurant exceeded my expectations. The restaurant was super clean. The employees are friendly, competent and do a great job. The food was delicious and temperature perfect. This place is a model for how every LJS should be run. Great Customer Service I drove over here during my lunch at work as I had a BOGO coupon. I have not been to a Long John Silver's for a few years and this visit did not disappoint. Even though I waited at the counter for a few minutes before I was noticed, I left a happy customer. The food was made fresh and fast and the Customer service was pretty dang good. Given the long week I had, I absent mindedly left my phone at the condiment area but the nice employee came out to the car, while I was frantically searching, and asked me if I the cell phone she had in her hand was mine. Thank you for your honesty! The food was pretty good - it is a fast food restaurant after all. I had ordered the 2 peice fish meal with corn and green beans. I love that I could change my sides at no extra charge and replace the french fries with something else that I would rather eat. All the food was good, fresh as it can be for fast food. Long johns across the brand seems to have gone downhill over the last 5 years. They have done away with dipping sauces and other stuff that I used to like. Two stars may seem low for a place that has a lot of good features about it. The decorating is truly superior. And - a key item for fast food - the hamburgers are really good. The Papa Burger is one of the better fast food burgers you can get (the sauce plus cheese you can taste counts for something here). two considerations take them down. one - i left the restaurant with the bad taste in my mouth that comes from food cooked in oil that is stale. In some places - this is less of an issue - since you can avoid what comes out of the fryer. That is harder at Long John Silvers/A and W Rootbeer because ALL of the food on the fish side of the menu and all of the side dishes on both sides of the menu are deep fat fried. So if the oil is no good - that makes everything no good. I also could not finish my drink. A and W Root Beer is superior root beer - and is the legitimate base of a franchise. However, I took it in a paper cup, and not one of their frosty mugs. I let it sit for a while while I ate my burger and fries. When I finally drank it, the taste of the paper cup had migrated into the soda. Those must be some cheap paper cups. So - happy as I was with the burger, I don't think it would be prudent to come back. Stale oil and paper cups that leech into your drink aren't exactly the best things you can do for your health. read more

Went here for lent on a Friday and they were pretty busy there is plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of.This location has an A and W attached to it before they used to have the root beer spouts but it seems as if they took those out and now just hav writ beer with the soda machine.We ordered the Fish and shrimp combo a side of clams and fish tacos.The manager here is awesome she was working hard running circles around her workers! And she is super nice!! We went after 5pm and she greeted everyone even though they were so busy.Our food came out hot and fresh the only thing I didn't like were the fries because they were bland but we came for the fish anyway.our meals came with coleslaw which is really good and hush puppies,They also sell cheese curds now too!Since it's lent for a lot of people or if you are just craving some good ole long john silver go and check it out! Food was exactly what I requested. Love the shrimp. Wish I had asked for shrimp sauce. Also very happy they have diet root beer.

Really a 2.5 star since they messed up my order whenever it wasn't even busy whenever I came. I ordered coleslaw, instead I get corn on the cob. Kind of ridiculous. Anyways the fish was nice. It was kind of dry, but it had a good fishy flavor to it that I enjoy my fish having. It was fried as you'd expect from a fast food joint. My corn was enjoyable, though I sort of ate it with an animosity since I was much more in the mood for coleslaw. It tasted like the corn you'd eat at your home sort of, except a bit more buttery. The fries have a very potatoish taste to it, and they were very good. Ate them with ketchup :). Decent fast food chain. Been coming to Long John Silvers locations for years. They never really change. Ok, I am not a huge fan of seafood. But, I if I eat fish, this is where I like to go. Fast, deep fried, slices of heaven. I used to go here because it was the only one I really knew how to get to. This LJS is paired up with an A&W Hamburger Joint. Before I reviewed this place, I ate here twice to ensure that I was not wrong in my assumptions. The fish here is dry as if it is pre-made and then put under a heat lamp. That is just gross on so many levels. And God forgive me, but the woman that is "manning" the counter to take orders has a lot of scars/blister pockets (?) all over her face and arms. I am not sure if she has a skin condition or had one in her youth. Usually, things like this do not bother me. I don't have any problems with differences. However, when someone is dealing with my food, the blisters all over her make me second guess the situation. I don't like biting into my fish and feeling as if I got the left overs or the pieces that they couldn't sell earlier. I'll probably stick to the Round Rock or Wells Branch locations from now on. read more

I normally wouldn't write a Yelp review about a place like this, but the cashier was so friendly and hard working that it really changed our whole meal experience. She struck up a conversation with our daughter about dresses while we were deciding what to order .. which turned out to be enlightening and hilarious. She also went out of her way to make sure we were doing good once we sat down (like a restaurant), and the place was clean and well kept. Showed up at 9:15, 45 minutes before they close, and the doors were locked. The staff inside looked right at me and then at one another, and then continued talking. The staff is friendly. However not very efficient. I live a block away so I walked there to get something i g to eat. There as no one in the restaurant. They weren't busy at all. I ordered and waited patiently while they got my food ready. Against my better judgement I didn't look at thE food before I walked home with it. My 2 fish , 6 shrimp plate only Had two fish. So I can asked back over and they said I had to brinG the food back. That wasn't gonna happen. I insisted they give me my 6 shrimp. Mind you they were not busy. On of the two employees fixed that plate. How did they not remember not putting the shrimp n tHe box. SSince they are cooked to order. They did give me the 6 shrimp, but by that time I wasn't really hungry any longer. Very very frustrating. read more

For starters, we haven't eaten here in many years. I can't recall why, I just know that it's been a really long time. We were there right before 9 pm with one car in front of us in the drive through. We ordered a family meal which consisted of 8 total pieces of fish or chicken. I told them I wanted 5 fish, 4 chicken, and let them know what sides we wanted. The cashier was pleasant, and even though they weren't busy, it took at least 20 minutes for us to get our food. We don't live in the area, so it took us about 15 minutes to get home which is near parmer and mopac. Once home, I started plating the food only to discover they hadn't given us any chicken, only fish. All fish. My youngest daughter doesn't really like seafood, which is why I wanted chicken. Now, put all that aside. I can deal with the wait. I can even deal with them messing up and not giving us chicken. What I CAN'T deal with, is the fact that there was a BUG on my corn when I took it out of their nifty little wrapper. Worst part is: I had already bitten into it, and once I turned it to bite into it again, that's when I noticed it. I *ALMOST* didn't pay attention to it, because it hadn't occurred to me that this might be a bug. I thought maybe it was a burnt piece of something. My curiosity got the better of me and when I looked at it under a flashlight, I realized my worst fast food fear had come true. It was a mf'ing bug!! I really wish I had bitten into the corn frst, because it would've saved me from hurling that much more than I did after I saw what was invading my corn. They should be closing soon, but that's not gonna stop me from calling them. Please check your food when ordering here, or don't even take the chance! This place is terrible as an A&W! The root beer isn't on tap like most A&W's. The cheese curds are overpriced and they cheat you out of the swirls. I ordered a large swirl and they gave me a regular. I say 4.5. Today I came in because I was craving fried shrimp. However my experience here a couple of years ago was horrible, but I decided to give it a second shot. Today the staff was very friendly, the place was really clean, all of the sauces and dispensers were clean and the food tasted really good. Ziara was the lady who took my order and was very very nice. Again the place was super clean and the food tasted great. It's hard for me to rate bad on this restaurant due to it being by far my favorite fast food place. The fish fry has always been good and to be honest I only come here for the fish, regardless of how the customer service is, as long as I get my fish I am good. The food has always been good as I remember going 7 years ago, but when I got home and started eating (got about half way through) there was a curly black hair in my French fries.... All was great until my order was messed up which is no big deal, but when I asked them to fix it the manager Christina said "you didn't say that when you ordered". I know it's hard to believe 4 stars for a fast food placec but Justus really made our visit special today after we practically drove across town to find one of the few surviving Long John Silver's in North Austin. She was very chipper and friendly even though it was obvious they had just been through a wicked dinner rush. This team is doing things right because just about everyone leaving rang the bell to show their appreciation to the staff while we were there. We got the 2 meals for $10 deal and Justus talked us into the 2 drinks and 2 slices of pie for $5 more. So worth it! AW root beer is still the king. The strawberry cheesecake pie was amazing! Sure it was frozen pie and came in a little cardboard box but we both have a sweet tooth and loved this pie! Washing it down with a good ol' root beer made it that much better. They ran short of hush puppies (I like to substitute hush puppies in place of the cole slaw) and Justus was kind enough to bring me a couple extra due to having to wait, how cool is that? Later when she was cleaning tables she even stopped to ask us how the meal was while we were enjoying our pie which nobody has ever done at any fast food place I can remember. We both had the fish and it was totally worth the trip. Sadly the free juke box was broken but this hardly put a dent in the whole experience. Next time the craving hits for delicious fishes we will not hesitate to come here. I've been to this location numerous times before and have had a bad to mediocre experience, but....My experience today was GREAT. The people that are currently working at this location were friendly and went out of their way to make sure everyone, not just me, had everything they needed and in a timely manner even though they were having problems again with the fingerprint sign-in they have for registers.
